I've always tried to be conscientious about eating, but I've definitely stepped up my awareness since reading The Omnivore's Dilemma and some other things.

I decided to just stop eating mammals all together. One, my system doesn't digest them very well, and two, I won't eat the factory-farmed animals, and while I know there are some ethical meat producers out there, it's easier to just not eat it.

I've also switched to organic for all eggs and dairy products. Learning how much shit they pump into those cows and chickens was disgusting.

As for processed foods, I'm a big label reader, and once you start reading the labels, it gets really easy to just throw the boxes back on the shelf.Phoebe Fayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10425002459681921692noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-659346512371488571.post-82423864121982124902007-10-16T05:14:00.000-07:002007-10-16T05:14:00.000-07:00Well said.Well said.here today, gone tomorrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17203537337770906267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-659346512371488571.post-55450195368916229732007-10-15T16:52:00.000-07:002007-10-15T16:52:00.000-07:00Here's an interesting post about a study on the pe...Here's an interesting post about a study on the percentage of food that a state can produce.FreeOscarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17519953981397395954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-659346512371488571.post-54641959484942077542007-10-15T16:01:00.000-07:002007-10-15T16:01:00.000-07:00That's why I buy local &/or organic. That's why I buy local &/or organic.FreeOscarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17519953981397395954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-659346512371488571.post-54214588569221094922007-10-15T15:43:00.000-07:002007-10-15T15:43:00.000-07:00I love corporate welfare.
