- I been to college and it aint hurt me none. I even got me a degree or two. I've been a scientist, a cook, a carpenter a farmer an environmental activist and had a couple other useless pursuits. My wife calls me a "jack of all trades and master of none." [Correction: She now says I am a "starter of much and finisher of nothing"] Yes, I have a wife, but she doesn't bother me much and I don't bother her much. We get along just fine. . . an she aint my sister or cousin! I don't complain much or tolerate whiners. My goal in life: Have fun. Hope you do the same.

Whachugonnado? we got a two-party system where the incumbent always loses ground on the next election. People don't care what the Dems have achieved or how pointless the Reps are, they just want change for the sake of it. But I'm sure the supposed rout won't be anywhere near as bad as they predict. And maybe a little less of a majority would actually motivate the Dems to fight more and the Reps to actually contribute instead of just sulking like pissy toddlers who can't get their own way? Maybe..?
And here's the worst part: The Repubs, when they get majorities in the House and Senate again, will actually use those majorities. They won't whinge that they really need a "super majority" of 60 in the Senate to get things done. And the Dem caucus will include members who frequently break ranks to help the Repubs.
I vote with Simpson.
