Who do you want to trust with our faltering economy?

Clinton-McCain gas tax holiday slammed as bad idea
By Alister Bull
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A gas tax holiday proposed by U.S. presidential hopefuls John McCain and Hillary Clinton is viewed as a bad idea by many economists and has drawn unexpected support for Clinton rival Barack Obama, who also is opposed.

"Score one for Obama," wrote Greg Mankiw, a former chairman of President George W. Bush's Council of Economic Advisers. "In light of the side effects associated with driving ... gasoline taxes should be higher than they are, not lower."

Republican McCain and Democrat Clinton, who is battling Obama for their party's nomination, both want to suspend the 18.4-cents-per-gallon federal gas tax during the peak summer driving months to ease the pain of soaring gas prices. The tax is used to fund the Highway Trust Fund that builds and maintains roads and bridges.

Economists said that since refineries cannot increase their supply of gasoline in the space of a few summer months, lower prices will just boost demand and the benefits will flow to oil companies, not consumers.

"You are just going to push up the price of gas by almost the size of the tax cut," said Eric Toder, a senior fellow at the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center in Washington.

Obama criticized the plan as pure politics and said the only way to lower the price of gas is to use less oil.

Oh, and did Billary or McCain/McBush mention that if you cut the gas tax you virtually wipe out the federal resource for road and bridge maintenance and construction. Do they have an alternative plan for funding our nation's crumbling bridges and highways?

The folly of capital Punishment

This is James Lee Woodard. . .

Mr. Woodard spent 27 years in a Texas state prison for a murder he didn't commit. Luckily, even though he was incarcerated in the execution capital of the world, Texas, he wasn't executed. He has now been released because DNA data proved he was not the murderer.
From the age of 28 to 55 he sat in prison for a crime he didn't commit.

Dallas man freed by DNA testing after 27 years in prison
By SCHUYLER DIXON, Associated Press Writer
DALLAS - A Dallas man who spent more than 27 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit was freed Tuesday, after being incarcerated longer than any other wrongfully convicted U.S. inmate cleared by DNA testing.

James Lee Woodard stepped out of the courtroom and raised his arms to a throng of photographers. Supporters and other people gathered outside the court erupted in applause.

"No words can express what a tragic story yours is," state District Judge Mark Stoltz told Woodard at a brief hearing before his release.

Woodard, cleared of the 1980 murder of his girlfriend, became the 18th person in Dallas County to have his conviction cast aside. That's a figure unmatched by any county nationally, according to the Innocence Project, a New York-based legal center that specializes in overturning wrongful convictions.

How many innocent people have been put to death?
Fuck all you capital punishment barbarians.

Bush is a lying little wimpy scum sucker

Bush faults Congress for inaction on economic woes
Reuters - Tue Apr 29, 11:59 AM ET
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush said on Tuesday the U.S. economy was facing a "tough time" because of rising food and energy prices and a weak housing market, and faulted Congress for inaction.

Of course you fucking piece of shit MoronMonkeyBoy mother fucker. It's always someone or something else's fault. You ignorant treasonous scum bag. You've got a degree in "history" from Yale. Did you ever hear the term "The buck stops here?"
No you cock sucker, it's always another's fault. What's it like to have some handlers hand up your ass 24/7 telling you what to say and when to say it. Do they also have you drugged? I can't imagine any man with the smallest amount of integrity and substance acting like the little whiney blame monkey that you are.

I'm just thinking bout studying violence and war no mo

I'm just thinking... just thinking... about Malcolm x, who said that on this day, from this day forward, on this earth, we declare that we have a right to fight for our freedom "by any means necessary."

I'm just thinking... just thinking...about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who died from a violent gunshot as he stood out on a balcony in Memphis, Tennessee, who said we must be a nonviolent people, a nonviolent nation, who said we must have "the power to love." And though the corporate media won't acknowledge it, he spent the last year of his life focusing on war and poverty, reminding us that our government's preoccupation with war not only killed people abroad; it diverted much-needed resources to end poverty at home. And paraphrasing an old religious hymn, this most eloquent minister said "I don't know about you, but I ain't gon study war no mo."

I'm just thinking about a fellow blogger named Wayne Bennett, the field negro, who said on his blog last night that 101 people have died so far this year in Philadelphia (and it's not even summer). And get this--He said that this level of violence is actually an improvement, because 131 had been killed by this time last year.

Okay, African Americans, I want to ask you something: As a people who were enslaved and brutalized for centuries by others, shouldn't you be peaceful toward each other? Whether inside the home or out on the street, shouldn't another brother or sister be the last person your raise a hand or squeeze a trigger finger against? And if you must raise a hand or pull a trigger, shouldn't the only possible justification for doing so be to obtain or defend your freedom?

Okay, Americans of all ethnic, political or religious persuasions, I want to ask you something: As members of a nation that took this country by committing genocide against nations of Indians (the first Americans), as members of a nation that enslaved an entire group of people (Africans), as members of nation that spends much of its budget on either fighting wars or preparing for wars, as members of a nation with 47 million people without healthcare, with infrastructure so bad that you're afraid to drive across some bridges, shouldn't you be so angry, so... obsessed with forcing your elected officials to turn away from bloody wars and turn to the righteous quest of supporting you that you're willing to organize other Americans to march on Washington D.C. this summer and camp out there until your elected officials pass laws to your brave but misled sons and daughter out of Iraq, give healthcare to everyone and put Americans back to work rebuilding our country?

I'm just thinking...just thinking...about rising each morning with the sun, sipping a cup of java and saying " I ain't gon study violence and war no mo."

Knocking off voters

Advocates: Voter ID ruling may disenfranchise US voters
By DEBORAH HASTINGS, AP National Writer Mon Apr 28, 7:27 PM ET
The Supreme Court's refusal to strike down an Indiana law requiring government-issued photo identification at the ballot box could disenfranchise minority and elderly voters at next week's primary and prompt other states to pass similar laws, voting advocates said Monday.

Here we go. 25,000 voters here, 50,000 there. Whatever it takes; these fascist bastards will do whatever they have to to cull voters who might be more inclined to vote for the people's candidate rather than their chosen whore.
Look for many more rulings, laws and other policy that will cull the voting rolls.

Politics vs. Reality

Clinton highlights Obama's objection to gas tax holiday
By SARA KUGLER and MIKE GLOVER, Associated Press Writers
GRAHAM, N.C. - Hillary Rodham Clinton criticized Barack Obama on Monday for opposing proposals to suspend federal gas taxes this summer, a plan she and Republican John McCain have endorsed. Obama didn't take the bait. He ignored Clinton and focused on McCain.

The federal tax on a gallon of gas is 28 cents. At $3.59 per gallon, that's 7.8% of what you pay at the pump. So they take that off the price of a gallon of gas between now and Sept. Of course the oilcompanies will respond by raisingthe price of gas, so it won't be long before we'll be paying 3.59, 3.69, or whatever all over again. Come Sept, the federal tax will bereapplied and the price will zoom on up over $4.00 per gallon if it hasn't gone there already, in which case it'll still go up 28 cents per gallon overnight.
After eight years of republican policy that has raised consumer costs, raised our federal deficit to unbelievable level beyond anyone's ability to imagine just eight shortyears ago and given huge tax cuts to the corporate royalists, the last thing this economy needs is another tax cut.
And watch, I guarantee that if a tax repeal is made, it will give the biggest break to corporate interests.

The corpo-fascists hate it when a liberal democrat takes the fiscally responsible position. Remember how they hated Bill Clinton?

The raw politics of education

West Virginia University dean resigns in degree scandal
By VICKI SMITH, Associated Press Writer 27 minutes ago
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The dean of West Virginia University's College of Business and Economics is resigning in the wake of the scandal over a master's degree awarded to the governor's daughter, the school announced Monday.

R. Stephen Sears is the second high-ranking academic officer to leave in the case, following Sunday's announcement that Provost Gerald Lang is resigning.

OK, so they're slaughtering their scapegoats. Why isn't anyone looking into what influence governor JoeBob himself exerted. Do all the people investigating this bullshit really believe that he never did or said anything?
when I was in college and grad school, it took about three minutes for the registrar or my advisor to evaluate my transcript and decide whether or not I qualified for a degree. Ok, maybe it took five or ten minutes.

Why did it take months and a 100 page report issued by a specially appointed committee to come up with the decision surrounding the governor's daughter's bogus "e"MBA?
IS it only obvious to me that these political hacks burried evidence and manipulated facts to cover someone's ass? Who could that someone or someones be? The president of West Virginia University? The governor of West Virginia?
West Virginia University is actually a very good and highly rated academic institution. Unfortunately it has been governed and administered by a bunch of frat boy numb skulls who think football and basketball . . . especially football, are the most important functions of THE university.
This incident is just another indicator of what a sad and disgraceful situation we have at West Virginia's finest institution of higher education.

Theater of the Absurd

McCain calls Obama insensitive to poor people
AP -
CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Sunday called Democratic rival Barack Obama insensitive to poor people and out of touch on economic issues.

WTF?!
John, John, John baby. . . can we talk? Now, when you started going after the people of color votes, it seemed kinda. . . well, ridiculous. Ya see, you repulicans have been guilty, despite your silly protests, of ignoring and actually exacerbating the problems of minorities in this country. Yes, you have. 95% of African-American voters aint makin this shit up.
So when you accuse someone like Barack Obama of being "insensitive to poor people," a man who has spent a good part of his life being a community activist on the streets of Chicago, you don't just sound absurd, you sound like a walking talking bad joke.
John, I was beginning to respect you for going after the minority vote and doing things like calling the response to Hurricane Katrina a "national tragedy" and a "national shame." I thought maybe you were on to something. but this. . . this John simply reduces you to just another political piece of shit who will do anything and say anything to get a vote. Sorry Charlie, but this is going to work against you BIG TIME. When some rich prick, married to some porcelain queen who's an heiress to hundreds of millions call the most in touch presidential candidate in decades "insensitive to poor people," you have sunk your own efforts.
Fuck you, you bottom feeding asshole.

Political bottom feeding

1. Trivial politics

We are in one of the most dangerous intersects of our county's history. The past eight years has taken us from a country with great growth and at relative peace to a country that is in severe recession and at war on two fronts with an administration that continuously lies to and deceives the American public. We can vote for more of the same with McCain/McBush or vote for change with a democratic candidate.

Sadly, the democratic primary has been reduced to petty bickering and childish pot shot issues.
I don't give a fuck what Obama's preacher said or anythinig else that doesn't have to do with issues that directly effect the condition ofo this country. I want to hear how you're going to bring decent paying jobs to middle America. How are you going to get us out of Viet N. . . oh, sorry, Iraq. What are you going to do about the outrageous energy crisis we have in this country that no one seems to want to talk about. . . talk about a 6 ton elephant in the living room. What are you going to do about the desperate masses in the inner cities who have little hope and resort to drugs and violence to get by. How about talking about the rural poor who have no jobs and can't make a living farming because the corporations set the price in the field impossibly low and then gouge the consumers. What are you going to do to lift this country up and make us great like we have the potential of being? What are your plans for taking us back into space to a degree where we are really exploring?
What are you going to do about healthcare!!! How about our environmental crisis?

Until you answer those questions, I don't want to hear any more of your trivial whiney baby shit. Just shut your fucking mouths if all you've got is negative bullshit vomit.

2. Spineless politician "Super Delegates"

There are about 800 unpledged “super-delegates” to the democratic national convention. This in itself is a tragedy for democrats throughout the country but especially so considering that most of them have yet to decide who they are going to give their vote to at the convention and are the real cause of the political indecision currently in democratic politics.
"Super delegates" are people like Democratic governors, members of Congress, former presidents, former vice presidents, retired democratic leaders, and all Democratic National Committee members, many appointed by Howard Dean the DNC chair.

Since many of these delegates have not committed to a candidate we have to assume at this point that they are playing a juvenile game of politics and holding out untill the last minute so that they can cast their vote for the sure winner. That is the politics of spineless pieces of shit.

We need to note who these gutless wonders are NOW and make sure they never get our vote again. I'd almost rather vote for a republican with some guts than one of these wishy-washy pandering bottom feeder democrats.

There are around 3,250 delegates elected in primaries or caucuses to the Democratic National convention. 800 "super delegates" brings the total delegate count to around 4,050. That means that 20% of the delegates are not elected or chosen through state-wide caucuses. How would it be if we held an election for president and then 20% of the vote was decided by a small grounp of politicians who held positions of power?

For those of you who don't think racism or sexism is an issue anymore. . . do you know that over 50% of the "super delegates" are white men but only 28% of the democratic primary electorate are white men? nice, huh?

Fucking with monsters

Hollywood grizzly bear kills trainer
By Steve Gorman
Thu Apr 24, 12:09 PM ET

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A grizzly bear featured in the recent Will Ferrell film "Semi-Pro" and touted as one of the "best trained" in show business has killed its handler, but officials said on Wednesday they were puzzled by what provoked the attack.. . .
Two other trainers at the facility, called Randy Miller's Predators in Action, subdued the bruin. . .
The Web site boasts that Predators in Action has "the best trained grizzly bears in the business today," the Times said.

"puzzled by what provoked the attack?!" What're ya, fucking idiots? A goddamn animal like that can be playing and kill you with a single love bite. Wild animals get pissed off easily. You might be thinking you're being it's best friend and having a big love affair and it will get the idea you're going to take it's lunch away. . . you're dead.
The "best trained" monster top predator will eat you.

Anyone who wallows around with grizzly bears, tigers, etc., is eventually going to get hurt and very likely die. When I see these bozos trying to convince people that these top predators are just like pussy cats or puppy dogs I just shake my head and know that someday, we'll be reading about your mauled ass in the paper.

Now, I've grabbed copperheads and rattle snakes. I've slapped wild alligators on the tail and once, I tried to intimidate an ostrich that stood about two feet taller than me (all I did was piss it off). I'm not afraid of wild creatures, but I also know what I can fuck with and what I can't.

I used to hang out with a guy who was really big and strong, tough as tree bark and knew his way around the woods better than anyone I've ever known. He always reminded me of what Simon Kenton might have been like. He once told me: "if you don't have some chance of whooping it, don't fuck with it." Good advice.

So, Mr. Miller, say hi to Steve Irwin and all the other zoo keepers, animal trainers and great white hunters who got too cocky and thought they were oh so tough.
Thanks for playing, now OUTTA THE GENE POOL!

Co-dependent ethics

Starcher vows to remain seated in Massey case
Justice says he'll recuse self only if Benjamin does
By Tom Searls
Staff writer
State Supreme Court Justice Larry Starcher declined to step aside in a $240 million case involving Massey Energy and Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Thursday, saying he would only consider such a move if Justice Brent Benjamin does also.

"I will step aside following the very moment that [Benjamin] does so, should he make that decision," Starcher wrote.

WTF?! So Starcher's ethics are dependent upon the ethics of someone else? HEY! Look here you stupid fuck; you do what's right regardlesss of what anyone else does.
So, by Judge Starcher's ethics, ass long as someone else is robbing banks, it's ok for me to rob banks. When THEY decide to quit robbing banks, then I will quit robbing banks.
Yes folks, this is a WV supreme court judge talking. No wonder the rest of the world looks so favorably upon our fair state.

Should it surprise anyone that our country is so devoid of moral values and righteous ethics?

Dumbocrats

Billary raised $10 million within the 24 hours after winning the PA primary.
Now, most people know that Obama is clearly on track to take the nomination. Why would 100,000 contributors be willing to donate to a losing campaign?
Hope? Hope for what?
I see three possibilities as to why someone would contribute to a losing campaign.
1. Republicans know that Billary are beatable so they have pumped cash into the Billary campaign.
2. Republicans and democrats alike know that it's likely a dem will win the presidency and anyone with corporate interests would much rather have corporate democrats like Billary back in office than a champion of the working class like Obama.
3. Anybody but the @#$$%^.

Yes Amurkkka, this country is full of ignorant racist pricks who will vote against the black candidate just because he is black even if he is the best candidate for the presidency in 45 years and is all about the issues that matter most to the very people who are the most racist against him.
It's a startling reality.

Blogger blowhards and the real heros

There are so many of us who write on these blogs pretending to know what's best, who's best and what everyone ought to do. We pontificate, we blow steam, we harang, we criticize and we generally make like know-it-all blowhards.

Yesterday, my son drove out of Pennsylvania on four hours of sleep and headed west on I-70 for Indianapolis. When he gets there, he will immediately hit the ground "cutting turf" (I'm not sure what that means, but he does a lot of it) and working canvases all across the state for his candidate.

He won't spend a minute of time cruising blogs or making inane posts anywhere except through e-mail concerning matters that are important to the campaign. He doesn't blow smoke, pontificate or otherwise waste his energy on bullshit that will make no difference whatsoever in how people will vote or perceive his candidate.

He is one of thousands of real life heros who makes this process work so that us blowhard bullshitters can post our silly rhetoric. He puts his feet on the ground and his brain into action and makes things happen.

Today I honor my son and all the other campaign workers in this country who go unnoticed, but are the real power behind the pretty faces, and the smiling talking heads.

Bravo to all of you. . . and please, drive carefully.

Canada and Mexico are not our enemies!

MoronMonkeyBoy Bush the Chimp's legacy: He didn't make enemies out of Canada and Mexico. Congratulation you fucking idiot.

By BEN FELLER, Associated Press Writer
NEW ORLEANS - . . . .

Bush is meeting for two days with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexican President Felipe Calderon for his fourth and final North American Leaders' Summit, which is centered on expanding commerce against rising anti-trade sentiment.

The three countries already share the largest trading partnership in the world, totaling nearly $1 trillion a year. Heading into the meeting, Bush said he plans to talk to Harper and Calderon about expanding trade in the Western Hemisphere.

Bullshit in the news

Robert Downey Jr.: 'I rose from the ashes'
For much of his adult life, the actor was caught in a ruinous cycle of drug addiction, imprisonment and disgrace. And then, something changed.

Good for you Bobby. Nobody cares. Go out and do something and show us how well your recovery is working. Come back in 10 years and tell us how well your recovery worked. Now STFU.

Sandra Bullock unhurt after suspected drunk driver hits car

GLOUCESTER, Mass. - Sandra Bullock and her husband were unhurt after a head-on crash with a drunken driver, police said Saturday.
The actress and her husband, Jesse James of TV's "Monster Garage," were being driven. . . .

One more time: Nobody give a fuck unless you are a proletariat dullard.
"driven?" Jesse, I thought you had skills.

Ben Stein Vs. Sputtering Atheists
Fri Apr 18, 3:00 AM ET

It is a reality of PC liberalism: There is only one credible side to an issue, and any dissent is not only rejected, it is scorned. Global warming. Gay "rights." Abortion "rights." On these and so many other issues there is enlightenment, and then there is the Idiotic Other Side. PC liberalism's power centers are the news media, the entertainment industry and academia, and all are in the clutches of an unmistakable hypocrisy: Theirs is an ideology that preaches the freedom of thought and expression at every opportunity, yet practices absolute intolerance toward dissension.
Evolution is another one of those one-sided debates. We know the concept of Intelligent Design is stifled in academic circles. An entire documentary to state the obvious? You can see my reluctance to view it.. . .
Ben Stein's extraordinary presentation documents how the worlds of science and academia not only crush debate on the origins of life, but also crush the careers of professors who dare to question the Darwinian hypothesis of evolution and natural selection.

OK, one more time. Fairy tales, mythology, fabricated fantasy will ALWAYS be rejected by science when it is presented AS science. Yes, it will be crushed at the classroom door. Academics who prescribe to it will be shunned and rejected by credible institutions.
If you want to believe in sky pixies and mythology stories that's fine, but when you bring it to the classroom, you will be turned away with extreme prejudice. So fuck you.
Oh, and when you go around sounding like Forrest Gump, people will tend to reject you no matter how smart you tell them you are. . . but then, Americans like being Gumped and believing what some moron who talks like he's slightly mentally impaired tells them. I call it "The Gumping of America." We've become a nation of imbecilic proles.

Danica Patrick makes IndyCar history by winning Japan 300
By JIM ARMSTRONG, AP Sports Writer

MOTEGI, Japan - Danica Patrick became the first female winner in IndyCar history Sunday, taking the Indy Japan 300 after the top contenders were forced to pit for fuel in the final laps.

Bravo Danica! A woman with exceptional skills traditiionally only applied to men. I love that kind of woman. But what's this shitthat she won because "after the top contenders were forced to pit for fuel in the final laps." What a bunch of media sport writer monkeyboys. Why not "after a brilliant display of driving skills and superb strategic positioning."
I've watched Indy and Formula racing. You don't win because somebody takes a pit stop.

Capsule carrying first SKorean astronaut lands off target
By MIKE ECKEL, Associated Press Writer
Sat Apr 19, 5:23 PM ET

MOSCOW - A Russian capsule carrying South Korea's first astronaut touched down 260 miles off target in northern Kazakhstan on Saturday after hurtling through the atmosphere in a bone-jarring descent from the international space station.
It was the second time in a row — and the third since 2003 — that the Soyuz landing went awry.

Come on. Back in the 60s we knew it was a dangerous proposition going into space. As aa result we designed and built safe and secure spacecraft and then not without tragic design flaws, but that's another story.
So now, the dorks at NASA and the Russian space agency use that SAME almost 50 yr old technology to put people into space. They take it for granted and think it's going to continue to work just like the last time. Sadly, the Russians have a history of losing cosmonauts on reentry in their Soyuz craft and sometimes losing them for long periods of time because they come down hundreds of miles off target out in the middle of some of the most desolate country side in the world.
But these light weights continue to use 50 yr old technology to try and do things that only cutting edge technology should be applied.
Don't feel bad Mrs. Michelle Obama. I haven't been proud of my country since 1969.

Protesters take CNN to task over commentator's China remarks
Sun Apr 20, 12:06 AM ET

LOS ANGELES - Chinese-Americans rallied outside CNN's Hollywood office on Saturday to demand the firing of commentator Jack Cafferty for calling China's goods "junk" and its leaders a "bunch of goons and thugs."

"We understand free speech," Lake Wang, 39, told the Los Angeles Times. "But what if Cafferty said this about other racial groups? I think he would be fired. I think he's jealous of China."

What a bunch of dumb fucks. Cafferty didn't say anything about any "racial group." He was talking about a government full of thug dictators who use slave labor to product piece of shit junk products thatthey flood the American market with and American corpo-fascists are more than willing to market to the citizens. Btw you dumb fucks; that Chinese gov't you are defending would crush your dumb fuck asses if you tried protesting like that in front of the state controlled media outlets in China.

Pope blesses ground zero in NYC, prays for peace

AP -
NEW YORK - Pope Benedict XVI began the final day of his American journey by blessing the site of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and pleading with God to bring "peace to our violent world."

The pope came and he prayed and he blessed. What else? He's still the leader of a cult that is currently defined by the pedophilic priests they employ. A cult that is richer than any corporation and most countries.
So what did the leader of this cult do to address these horrors? What did he do to bring about world peace, to end hunger and the misery of the tens of thousands of children who die of hunger and lack of clean water everyday. He prayed.
Good job Benny. I'm sure you'll be remembered as a great world leader.. . of pedophilic priests.

Things that make you go "WHAT THE FUCK?"

The gov't has gone into a Mormon sect in Texas and taken custody of all the children living there because this "sect" has been found to have a history of pedophilia. Seems the old men like to "marry" the pre-teen girls. I'm all for shutting these fuckers down. Throw them into jail for the rest of their pitiful lives. In fact, when they get to jail, throw them in with the gen pop and let em all know what they're in for. They'll be sure to have pitifully short lives.

The thing that makes me say "WHAT THE FUCK?!" is that the pope is being treated like the greatest human being in the world here in the United States this week. He's being given the kind of treatment that George Washington would be given if he returned from the dead. How is it that the leader of a sect that has been riddled with pedophilia scandal in the past decade gets the royal treatment while similar scum bags are thrown in jail? WTF?

First impressions. . .

I know, I really shouldn't do this post. It's all about looking at someone and making judgements by the way they look.
I'm a feel good ultra liberal middle class white guy who tries to be cool and groovy, so I'm not supposed to do things like this.
Yea well fuck that. I've been around inbred white people long enough to know one when I see one and the guy below is one if one were to go just by looks, that is. . . plus, we got some history with this guy. If it looks like a duck and swims like a duck, it's probably a duck.

I give you Rep Geofferson Davis (R-KY). . .

Sorry, I had to get rid of the picture.
I couldn't stand looking at his pitiful pedophilic looking face every time I open SH.
If you want to see what I mean, go here: http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2004/08/31/davis.jpg

I mean really, look at that slack jawed expression. This guy hasn't had an original thought in his life. He looks like my cousin Erwin Ray who went to work for the local insurance agent right out of HS and now he sorta runs the agency even though he isn't really smart enough do anything creative or original, but people still come to his agency because they and their parents havebeen doing it for 50 years. Of course, Erwin hasn't generated a single new customer since his mentor retired 10 years ago.
Yea, Erwin kinda got plopped down into a bed of roses and since he's not one to do much of anything, he cruises along while others do the work for him. . . like many "business men," he should be grateful for extremely loyal, low paid and highly competent office workers.

So when you look at this picture of Rep. Geofferson Davis (R-KY) ya gotta ask yerself "what the fuck kind of morons vote for morons like this?!" Well the answer to that is simple; ignorant backwoods proles. Yea, I hate to say it, but it's true. Dumb fuck hillbillies. I'll be he's got one of them southern twangy accents that makes you turn around and look to see if he's holding his hand like a little tea pot and swishing all about the place. " Hiiiiii, how yall dooooowin." I'll bet daddy made him squeel like a little piggy when he was a boy. Kinda looks like a 50 year old man-child. You know, a momma's boy who never really grew up. . . still has a pasty faced infantile look about him. Eastern Kentucky must be so proud.

Now, about Blogspot; This place sucks. It's slow. Those damn dialog boxes some people use for making and viewing comments are horrendously slow. Why do you people even use them. Same goes with the verification bullshit. I've been spammed once in 6 months. WTF do you need that shit for?
Blogspot, Speed things up and quit making me sign back in every fucking time I close a blogspot window.
Word Press beckons.

but most interesting of all, it had an "Anglosphere blog roll" which included this site which is nothing more than a kinder gentler form of white supremist bullshit. . .

All leading back to Rep. Geofferson Davis (R-KY). Do you know who YOU'RE voting for? Let's face it; this guys district includes the most backwoods hillbilly part of Kentucky. Now what was it Barack Obama said about rural communities?

Obama Sr. was also a great intellectual and scholar

Long-lost article by Obama's dad surfaces
Ben Smith, Jeffrey Ressner Tue Apr 15, 5:43 AM ET
. . . Now, a long-forgotten essay written 43 years ago by Obama’s father has surfaced, and its contents reveal much — not only about the senior Obama’s grasp of economic theory but also about the iconoclastic politics that, his son would later write, sent him into the spiral of career disappointment that concluded with his death in 1982 in his native Kenya.

. . . The article, with a loaded term in the title and a casual discussion of socialism, communism and nationalization, has raised the hackles of some anti-Obama conservatives who have been discussing it online.

Greg Ransom, a blogger who unearthed the journal at the University of California, Los Angeles, library, calls the article “the Rosebud” that provides the missing key to Obama’s memoir. Ransom wrote about the article’s contents recently in a posting with the provocative headline “Obama Hid His Father’s Socialist and Anti-Western Convictions From His Readers.”

So I went ahead and read the essay. It's extremely scholarly and way over my head. I choke on my check book and this guy is discussing economic systems.

But the interesting part of all this is the radical extremist right wing using it to somehow disparage Obama Jr. If I run for public office, will the fact that my father or mother never put pen to paper for anything beyond a grocery list or that my father was an abusive drunk be used to somehow guage where I stand on issues? WTF is wrong with these morons? How deranged can these extremists get? I believe we will find out as Mr. Obama takes center stage in the '08 election cycle.

Boys will be boys and boys.

"That ol boy aint got a lick o sense."
"Boy, git yer ass over here an git busy."
"Who's that boy lives up the head o the holler there."
"You boys best be gittin along."
"That boy kin throw bales better 'n anybody round here."
"You don't wanna be lettin that boy borrow yer tools."
"Boy oh boy, did you see the titties on that broad?"
"That boy's big as a mule."

These are all random exclamations one might hear on a daily basis anywhere around this part of the country. "Boy" is not a derogatory term. I might refer to my elderly neighbor as an "ol boy" or the twenty something young father down the road as "that young boy." If I want to address a collective group of us old hillside farmers, I might start the conversation by saying "Boys, let's go. . . "

So when does "boy" becoome a racial slur. I've used the term "boy" when talking to black friends. Around here, the black guys I know understand when it's just a natural part of conversation and when it's being used in a derogatory sense. I've never been accused of using it in a derogatory sense and never used it as such.

[There was an incident when I walked up to a black buddy of mine at work. He had just walked out of his lab and he had a digital monitor in his hand and was looking intensely at it and pushing a button or something and I said "Is that your GameBoy?" For about 10 seconds he looked at me with serious vengence in his eyes and I looked at him like "what the fuck is your problem" and then we both cracked up laughing.]

But I think it is clear when someone uses the term in a nonconfrontational colloquial manner and when it's being used as a way of being demeaning.

This past weekend a congressman by the name of Geoff Davis (spell it however you want, you're still named after the president of the confederacy) referred to Barack Obama as "that boy." Why would any politician on the national level even think of using the term "boy" when referring to any black man? Come on! Boy, you just gotta be plain old dumb.
If he'd been standing around the local fillin station talking to some of his buddies and made that comment. . . well, I dunno, maybe it could have just been a colloquial comment. And surely, in a packed room full of media people, he wasn't intending to belittle Mr. Obama by calling him a "boy." Was he? Maybe, when your name is Geoff Davis ya just can't help yourself.
How was the rest of the speech phrased? Was he speaking in colloquial English? No matter, this ol boy was an asshole. If it was just a colloquial comment, why didn't he correct himself right then and there? Nope, this guy really did call Mr. Obama a "boy" and I believe he meant it in a derogatory diminutive way. . . of the worse kind.
Rep. Geoff Davis (R) from Kentucky, you are Amurkkka's dumbass prick racist motherfucker of the week. Congratulations! Now sit down and shut the fuck up.

Political Bullshit

This is the best comment I've seen on the subject. I ripped it off from The Field Negro at http://field-negro.blogspot.com/.
Sometimes he pisses me off and sometimes I thinnk he makes the perfect point. Today he made thee perfect point. Keep up the great work Field Man and thanks for the rip.

[To Obama] Next time say something like: Black people in the inner cities are bitter and frustrated. This is why they drink and take drugs. This is why they kill each other. And this is why the old people go to church every Sunday morning. That is what you should have said. Then you wouldn't be having these problems, and having such a hard time getting back on message. Then white folks in Wal Mart A-merry-ca would have been cheering their asses off, and would have been saying: right on Obama. Man that Obama sure rocks! He sure told those blacks about themselves. That's the kind of Negro we need in the white house, one that is not afraid to tell it like it is and will not pull any punches.....

Obama was discussing his problem with winning working class white voters recently and said:

"It's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

I think that shows a lot of compassion and understanding. My temdency is to view the working class as a bunch of ignorant proles incapable of looking beyond the bullshit that the mass media and corporate marketing and publicity scum shove down their throats.

Unfortunately, the Billary campaign has taken all this and turned it into a parade of horrors.

Hillary said:
"Senator Obama's remarks were elitist and out of touch. . . They are not reflective of the values and beliefs of Americans."

Really? So Obama is out of touch and Billary is in-touch? Gimme a break. None of this is anything but a crock of political bullshit being stirred up by the Clintons and their Rovian political strategists.

So what does Obama do? He just keeps digging. . .

""Lately there has been a little typical sort of political flare up because I said something that everybody knows is true, which is that there are a whole bunch of folks in small towns in Pennsylvania, in towns right here in Indiana, in my hometown in Illinois who are bitter,. . . They are angry. They feel like they have been left behind. They feel like nobody is paying attention to what they're going through."

"So I said, well you know, when you're bitter you turn to what you can count on. So people, they vote about guns, or they take comfort from their faith and their family and their community. And they get mad about illegal immigrants who are coming over to this country.. . .

"The truth is that these traditions that are passed on from generation to generation, those are important. That's what sustains us. But what is absolutely true is that people don't feel like they are being listened to.

"And so they pray and they count on each other and they count on their families. You know this in your own lives, and what we need is a government that is actually paying attention. Government that is fighting for working people day in and day out making sure that we are trying to allow them to live out the American dream."

I'm so tired of these Clinton mother fuckers trying to destroy our party and the chances of victory in Nov. just to fullfill their egos and their minnions trying to get another shot a White House glory. It's so sad that a man who could have left behind a legacy of good will and a productive presidency will now be remembered for being the strong arm behind the candidacy that brought us another term of Bush politics and worse, policy. He may just destroy our country.

American Entertainment Absurdity

I believe it was Socrates who said "Spectacle is the lowest form of entertainment."
He could never have imagined the depths to which this modern country called America would go.

I watched American Idol once. . . for about 15 minutes. I don't get it. Who cares? A bunch of wannabes performing so that some panel of arrogant assholes can critique and abuse them. If I want to watch a performance, I'll rent a Who concert tape. Maybe watch Police Chase videos on Tru TV.

How about "Big Brother." That show has got to be for people with horrific cases of insomnia. Who in the fuck in the whole wide world wants to watch a bunch of morons walk around a house talking to each other on a 5th grade level? I don't get it. Who cares?

Surreal Life has got to be one of the worse. Here we've got a group of has been and mostly never were celebrities doing the same bullshit as the bozos on "Big Brother." I'd rather watch my hay fields grow. I don't get it. Who cares?

Real Life and all the rest of the MTV VH-1 whatever pop trash digi shit has got to be some kind of excersize in narcissistic idiocy. I don't get it. Who cares? What will these people think when they are 40 or 50 years old and they see the absurdity they were involved with back when they were young. I hope by then they are comfortable in their own skin and accepting of their past insanity.

And all these celebrity "watch my life unfold as I perform for you" shows. OK, Ozzy was kinda funny. . . the first three shows, but ever since then it has been a steep trip downhill.

Why are people entertained by other people going about their business in a staged yet still boring manner? Don't you proles know that there is some really cool shit right outside your door that you might want to take a look at? Get up off your ass and take a walk for christ sake. Take up knitting, bottle cap collecting, or anything other than stting in front of a moron box watching other people do stupid but more exciting things than you. . . ahhhhhhhh. . . well, ok. Just as I suspected. The American audience is a bunch of boring, brain dead, moronic proles and all this serves as nothing but life support for the horrendously pitiful and droll lives that you sorta have.

If this is part of an evolutionary or devolutionary process, I fear to think of how low we may sink before natural selection kicks in and these weak links in our modern society are forever condemned to the trash heap of history. How large a percentage of the population will join them?

What's the fucking problem!!

Educator suspended for calling students 'trailer trash'
By The Associated Press
MOUNDSVILLE -- Calling students "trailer trash'' for bad behavior is an offense, but in Marshall County, it merits only a one-day suspension, not two.

That's the ruling from the Board of Education, which voted Tuesday to override an earlier penalty for John Marshall High School adviser Nicole Shipman. The board says Shipman should be reimbursed for the extra day she was off.

Last month, Shipman handed a memo to some unruly students, warning that if they insisted on acting like trailer trash, that's how she would treat them.

That broke the board's Employee Code of Conduct rules.

Shipman has since apologized, citing the stress of her job. She says though she was unprofessional that day, it is not her nature.

What a crock of shit. All this mambsy pambsy political correctnesss has got to stop.
This teach didn't call anyone "trailer trash." She only told them to quit acting like trailer trash. Sometimes, harsh actions need to be met with harsh words. Fuck these PC pansies who give a shit that a teacher told some students to quit acting like trailer trash. If they were acting like trailer trash, tell em they were. This school board should concentrate their efforts on why their students were acting like trailer trash.

Jay apologizes for McCain analogy
By Paul J. Nyden
Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., apologized Tuesday for any misunderstanding from comments he made about Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., during a Monday interview with the Gazette.

"I have deep respect for John McCain's honorable and noble service to our country. I made an inaccurate and wrong analogy and I have extended my sincere apology to him.

"While we differ a great deal on policy issues, I profoundly respect and appreciate his dedication to our country, and I regret my very poor choice of words," Rockefeller said on Tuesday.

A transcript of the interview, provided by Rockefeller's office, records him as stating, "Frankly, other than hot-button issues like campaign finance reform ... he [McCain] isn't grounded in issues that affect people. All of a sudden he's for all the tax cuts he was against, and wants to make them permanent ...

"He's a fighter pilot. He flies at 35,000 feet and drops laser-guided bombs, missiles. He was long gone when they hit. What happened down there, he doesn't know.

"That's unkind, because that's fighting for your nation and that's honorable. But you sort of have to care what goes on in the lives of people. ... and he never gets into those subjects," the transcript continued.

Fuck John McCain/McBush and his little sensitive pussy brain. Jay was simply calling it like he saw it. It all sounds accurate to me. This is a fucking presidential campaign, not a god damn church dinner. McCain/McBush is an insensitive jughead. I think Jay illustrated that quite well. Apologize my ass. I'd give him another dose of abuse.
Isn't this the same guy who called his wife a "trollop" and a "cunt" in public and then blamed it on having had a "long day?" Man-up you panty waisted wuss. There would be a lot of long and rough days if the American electorate were dumb enough to elect you president.
So much for the tough guy act McCrusty you little fucking pussy.
And fuck you Jay for apologizing.

McCain/McBush and the "other" vote

So McCain/McBush is going after the votes that traditional republican voters don't normally seek, eh? Well good luck with that Johnny Boy, because just having the white male vote just aint gonna get you there no mo.

In that pursuit, he seems to be floating this idea. . .

Rice leaves door ajar for vice presidential chance

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice left slightly open the chance on Tuesday that she might be interested in running as vice president on Republican White House contender John McCain's ticket.

Pressed by a reporter, Rice declined to make a strong, direct rejection that she would never be interested in the second spot on the Republican ticket that is almost certain to be led by McCain as the presidential candidate.

So does he think that'll nullify this little tid bit? Exactly how gullible does he think those "other" voters are?

Arizona Blacks: Where's McCain?
Jonathan Martin Tue Apr 8, 5:38 AM ET
Oscar Tillman heads the Phoenix area branch of the NAACP and is a former statewide president of the group. He has been a leader of Arizona’s small, tight-knit African-American community for decades.

So it comes as something of a surprise to learn the name of one person, over all those years, with whom he has never spoken. It is the state’s senior senator better known these days as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

John McCain, said Tillman, “has pretty well zero relationship with the African-American community that I know of.”

“I don’t recall him ever attending any function with the NAACP,” Tillman added. “Each year we send them an invitation [to an annual banquet], and each year they say no.”

Big news from the Hillbillary campaign

Penn out as Clinton senior strategist AP - 1 hour, 1 minute ago
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Hillary Rodham Clinton is turning to her communications chief and pollster to plan her presidential election strategy after giving the boot to a polarizing top aide because of his work on behalf of a trade agreement Clinton opposes.

This is big. Penn was Hillary's Carl Rove. He was a mega corporate lobbyist, publicist, and corporate connection for her. Has been for years.
I'll bet there are folks within the Hillbillary campaign knashing their teeth and fumbling around like maniacs today.
This could really let a lot of the air that's left out of their balloon.

Piracy?

Piracy, what romantic thought. . . NOT!

I hope some ubermilitary rapid response team is currently on their way to this location and quickly and with extreme prejudice takes out every single one of the "pirates." Fuck this kind of bullshit. The seas must be safe.

Pirates seize French ship off Somalia
By JAMEY KEATEN, Associated Press Writer 25 minutes ago
PARIS - Pirates seized control of a French vessel carrying 30 crew members Friday off the coast of Somalia, the French government and the ship's owner said.

Attackers stormed aboard "Le Ponant" as it returned without passengers from the Seychelles, in the Indian Ocean, toward the Mediterranean Sea, said officials with French maritime transport company CMA-CGM.

The corporate officials said they were in close contact with the French Foreign Ministry, which said in a statement that a cruise boat and its crew had been attacked by pirates.

MLK and the candidates

Today I watched all three candidates give their MLK Day speech. Obama, as usual was mesmerising. The O Man is simply an extraordinary speaker.

McCain/McBush was boring, drool and insincere as he read directly from a script without hardly looking up and was jeered at times. He gave his speech from the motel where MLK was killed. They showed him beinig given a tour and he looked like he couldn't wait to get away from the black woman who was giving him an earful of historic information. I gotta hand it to him though; he's got balls. He stood there in Memphis before a largely black audience on the spot where MLK was killed on the anniversary of that assasination and told the crowd that he voted against making MLK's birthday a national holiday back in '87.

Hillary sounded like she was on prozac. Is this some sort of softer, kinder Hillary? I was really wondering what kind of sedative they gave her to make her sound so soft and whimsical. The one thing that got me wondering in her speech was when she said how influencial MLK was in her life and that when she was 14 yrs old she shook his hand. Where? Was this before or after you decided to support the republican right wing and become a "Goldwater Girl?"

So there ya have it. . . Obama of course was inspiring, McCain/McBush was a boring drool old white man and Hillary was sedate[d] and insincere.
More to come. . .

Clinton Spokes Negro

Well lookie here. The Clinton camapign done got themselves a spokes negro. Aint that nice. I wonder what thee Clintons are paying Rep. Tom. . . oh no, my mistake, it's Rep. Emanuel Cleaver.

Lawmaker dismisses Obama's attraction
By SAM HANANEL, Associated Press Writer Tue Apr 1, 4:38 PM ET
WASHINGTON - A congressman backing Hillary Rodham Clinton says white voters are supporting Barack Obama based on the view that he is articulate and his election would allow the nation "to get this boogeyman called race behind us."

Missouri Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, who is black, told Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that Obama "is articulate. In the black tradition, he would probably be mediocre."

"For White Americans, it's like, this guy can speak," Cleaver said in the radio interview. "If you put him on a level with a lot of other African-American public speakers, he may not even measure up."

Well, they knew they couldn't get a white person to say those things. . . that has already backfired on their asses, so they got themselves a black person. Now, I'm not saying that dollars changed hands here. I'm just speculating that some price was paid and promises made. I hope Rep. Tom, oh, excuse me, Emanuel Cleaver measures up and articulates well the Clinton message.
Yup. I wonder how Rep. Tom. . .er. . . Emanuel Cleaver "measures up" and how he got the job. I'd have liked to have seen that job interview.

Wow, no myth about the Clinton power machine

Pelosi says Democratic race should go on

WASHINGTON - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the superdelegates who may ultimately decide the Democratic party's presidential nominee have a right to vote as they wish, and that the drawn-out contest between candidates Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama should be allowed to reach its conclusion.

"These superdelegates have the right to vote their conscience and who they think would be the better president, or who can win, . . . " Pelosi said in an interview aired Tuesday on ABC's "Good Morning America."

Pelosi recently drew objections from Clinton backers when she said she shared Obama's view that superdelegates — nearly 800 elected officials and party leaders — should be guided by the vote for pledged delegates.

So this is what scares me. Pelosi, the first female speaker of the house has crumbled before the pressure put on her by the Clinton power machine. Last week it was "vote the will of the people" and now, after being chastised and pressured by the Clinton machine, she is saying "vote however you want."

It's true; never underestimate the power of the Clinton machine. That he has overpowered it is the miracle of the Obama campaign, but it could also be the thing that ultimately prevails. If that happens, the White House will belong to the republicans for at least four more years. I've heard so many republicans say they are interested in OBama, but they will not, under any circumstances vote for Hillary. Nothing specific, they just don't like her. Combine that with the fact that millions of democrats will abandon the party by not voting and it'll be a McBush/McCain White House in Jan.
