Rash Limpdick

HONOLULU -- Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, sources told KITV.

Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort.

Limbaugh, 58, suffered from chest pains, sources said. Limbaugh was sitting in a chair in his ninth-floor hotel room at the Kahala when emergency crews arrived, sources said. He told medical crews that he was taking medication for a back problem, sources said.

Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen's Medical Center in serious condition.

Taking something for "back pin?" So he is still a practicing drug addict doing pain killers.

Paramedics took him to the hospital in "serious condition." That's encouraging. Let's hope for the best. Rush gone by morning?
Great way to start the New Year.

Hope you are gone in 2010

These are just a few of the people I wish would just fucking disappear in the coming year.

Racists You know who you are. You just don't like the fact that a blsck man is president. You jumped on the opportunity to stick it to that uppity young punk Tiger Woods when he did what a majority of Amurkkkin men have done. Comeo n, you know you couldn't stand it that that young black man was getting one hell of a lot more hot white pussy in the past 3 months than you've ever have or will have a chance of getting.
Yea, you know who you are. Now go the fuck away. Take your knuckle dragging, ignorant cracker ass to the edge of the earth and jump off. You're has beens. You're dumber than a box of rocks. You're really no better than the radical white supremists. In fact, you're worse because you probably go around swearing up and down that you're NOT a rcist. At least the skin head mother fuckers are honest. You are a deceiving piece of shit.
Fuck all you backwoods, handicapped thinking, ignorant racist morons.

Creationists Every time I hear one of you say that evolution is a theory and that creationism is lso a theory that should be taught in the science classroom I want to slap the shit out of one of you stupid fundie fucks.
Here are a couple clues for you:
Religion has NO place in the science classroom.
Evolution is not theory, it's accepted scientific fact.
Every single stupid argument you or any of your dumbass Duane Gish worshipping fundie morons raise against evolution has been shown over and over to be exactly what it is: foolish ideas based on religion.
Now all of you religious fundamentalists just shut the fuck up and keep your religion out of my public schools and safely confined in your stone aged houses of worship.

Extremist partisan politicians I hate you fuckers. You don't care about the common good of the nation. All you scum sucking bottom feeders care about is getting elected the next time around. I'm beginning to believe in term limits for everyone. The founding fathers saw elected office not as a career, but as something successful people were obligated to do AFTER they had become successful. They were to serve the public for a limitted period of time and them pass the torch. It was viewed as a burden to be taken on by older successful people not a luxurious money making career.
Republican, democrat, whatever.
We need to keep lobbyists OUT of the halls of congress and other legislative bodies in this country and DEMAND that our elected officials serve the people and no one else.
If you aren't voting for what you truly believe to be best for the American common good, then fuck you and go away.

Anti-Environmentalists Another group of knuckle dragging morons led by corpo-fascist social manipulators. Listen you stupid fucks, 90+% of climate scientists say that the Earth is warming up due to human activity. The other <10% are being paid by corporate interests who don't want to back off their CO2 spewing shit spreading ways.
Think of the mid 60s. Our air was choking us and our waters were catching fire from all the pollutants. Along came the clean air and clean water acts. Industry said that if they were enacted it would ruin American manufacturing and industry. They were both passed. What followed was the first major clean-up of our air and waters AND one of the biggest growth periods in corporate America history.
Now corporate America is saying the same old bullshit from the 60s and most politicians don't have the balls to call them on their bullshit like politicians did back in the 60s (see previous class of moron listed).
So all you anti-environmentalists: Go away. You're destroying our Earth, you're assholes and fucking morons.

Give me a fucking break

I try to be positive and have faith in our society. I really, really want to believe that we will evolve, but then I read something like this and I think, 'how can we get outta this skanky hole we've made for ourselves?'

To me, this is an illustration of how absurd, trivial and just plain ridiculous we've become as a society and culture and it doesn't give me much cause for hope.

Tiger Woods' Affairs Cost Billions in Stock Market
LiveScience.com

Tiger Woods' extramarital affairs could cost you if you hold stock in a company he sponsors or a mutual fund that holds stock in those companies.

A new study - not yet published in a journal - finds the market value lost to companies that had the golfer as a sponsor is already as high as $12 billion.

The estimate is separate from whatever money Woods himself may lose as a result of his missteps. The golfer was thought to make about $100 million a year in endorsement income.

Mac Walton - MacDaddy

There will be a big emptiness in the hearts of Mac's friends for a long time to come.
I'm feelin the love that Mac sent us every time he laid wisdom on his friends and I'm very sad.

This is Mac's blog preamble and today's post from one of his friends.

TALK TO THE DADDY

Hello. Come on in. The daddy writes about current events, literature, music and, once in a while, drops something on you from back in the day to make you pause and ponder, stop and stare, and begin to wonder. Who knows? You may start to pace the floor, shake your head from side to side, then fall down on bended knees in a praying position and cry, "Lawd, have mercy! What is this world coming to?" Check yourself! But this blog is NOT about the daddy. It's about you: your boos, your fam, your hood, your country...our hopes and dreams of a better tomorrow. So let's make a pact: the daddy will put it on the track if you'll chase it down and hit him back. Together, we can definitely take it to another level. Shall we?"

Rest in Peace, Macarthur Walton
It is with profound sadness we inform MacDaddy's cherished fellow bloggers and followers, that the Daddy has passed on in the most peaceful manner at home surrounded by family and friends. We'll be adding more about our dear Mac but for now, leave you with a poem he wrote that summed up exactly how he lived and embraced his life fully since his cancer diagnosis five years ago.

JUST ONE MORE DAY

Tomorrow morn

Lord,
Let me live and know life for one more day
Just one more day

Let me wake to hurried neighbors revving cars
Racing to a closed-in office, chasing a rising sun
And sip smoking hot, black. fresh-brewed
from a Mickey's Diner cup
Reading the Star-Tribune, tasting buttered toast still warm

Tomorrow noon

Let me lunch on green salad, fresh fruit, green tea
with knowing companions
Plucking seedless, blue grapes from thick vines
Swapping warm smiles, tall tales and a joke or two

Tomorrow eve,

Let me dine on french bread, beef brisket, chilled wine
and a soft face
Nurturing hopes and dreams of a sweeter tomorrow
Grateful for your warm love and generosity in hearing me pray

Lord,
Let me life and know life for one more day
Just one more day

Misplaced justice

Not once in this entire article does it mention that this man was ACQUITED of all charges against him in an ISRAELI court of law back in the 80s.
Now this frail old man is being tried again in Germany on the 60 yr old emotional memories of holocaust survivors. Will they include the testimony of survivors who, back in the 80s claimed that "Ivan the Terrible" was killed in a camp uprising in 1945?
Everyone effected by the holocaust has my extreme and sincere sympathy and I'd never stand in the way of justice in prosecuting war criminals, but this is a travesty of justice and a crime in itself.

Demjanjuk unmoved as Holocaust survivors testify
Reuters
Mon Dec 21, 8:17 am ET

MUNICH, Germany (Reuters) – John Demjanjuk sat impassively while Holocaust survivors on Monday recalled the horrors of Nazi Germany at his trial on charges of helping to force 27,900 Jews into gas chambers in 1943.

German state prosecutors accuse Demjanjuk, who was top of the Simon Wiesenthal Center's list of most-wanted war criminals, of assisting in killings at the Sobibor death camp in Poland, where prosecutors say at least 250,000 Jews were killed.

The 89-year-old sat in his wheelchair and showed no emotion as eight plaintiffs, some of them with tears in their eyes and their voices breaking, described how they had survived the Holocaust while their relatives perished.

Demjanjuk denies he was involved in the Holocaust and his family insists he is too frail to be standing trial.

One of the plaintiffs, Robert Cohen, 83, whose brother and parents were killed at Sobibor, described his experiences at Nazi death camps including Auschwitz.

"We didn't know what was going on," the Amsterdam-born pensioner told the court during the morning session. "We thought we had to work."

Due to Demjanjuk's frailty, hearings are limited to two 90-minute sessions a day. His case is likely to be Germany's last major Nazi-era war crimes trial.

Demjanjuk was born in Ukraine and fought in the Soviet army before being captured by the Nazis and recruited as a camp guard. He emigrated to the United States in 1951.

In May, he was extradited from the United States where he had lived in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio.

Demjanjuk has acknowledged being at other camps but not at Sobibor, which prosecutors say was run by between 20 and 30 members of the Nazi SS and up to 150 Soviet former prisoners of war.

In the Sobibor gas chambers, Jews died within 20 to 30 minutes after inhaling a toxic mixture of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, prosecutors said. Groups of about 80 were forced into gas chambers measuring about 4 by 4 meters (13 ft by 13 ft).

The Tiger Woods Saga

Somebody's got to help me out here. What am I missing?
Tiger Woods has been knocked around like he just killed off half an innocent third world country.
As I understand it, it turns out that Tiger is a bit of a lady's man. Ok, big surprise. The guy is mega rich, good looking, young and athletic. Ya think he might take advantage of a few of the hundreds of women who no doubt throw themselves at him every day? Big fucking deal. How many men wouldn't?
So why the crucifiction? Is this what we fought the sexual revolution of the 60s for? Listen, a lot of people sacrifices big time back then so that future generation could be free of this panty waisted, self righteous, judgemental, backwoods, archaic bullshit.

So help me out. . . am I missing something?

A great day in aviation history

Boeing 787
Wow! Holy shit! Incredible! Fucking amazing!
That the only thing I could think of to say when I saw the video of the 787 Dreamliner in flight for the first time today. This is probably the most beautiful airliner ever to take to the sky. It has the absolute coolest slim narrow wings that flex up in a beautiful curve when it starts flying. Just seeing those wings for the first time is enough to leave a airplane lover like me speechless. yea, I'd seen pictures and simulations before, but to really see that huge machine flying like a graceful bird was just awesome.
Take a look at the wings on this beautiful baby:

But it's even more than the wings, this aeroship does mach 0.85. That's haulin the mail. It's also 20% more fuel efficient than any other airliner. That's a whole lot of jet fuel and barrels of oil! It'll hold between 200-300 people and has a range of 3,500 to over 8,000 miles depending upon the configuration. 8,000 miles?! Is that possible? [of course, a lot of this IS possible because of those long sleek beautiful wings]
Those are some incredible numbers. Sorry Airbus, but you just got edged over to the sidelines. You make some nice planes, but Boeing just showed you why they are STILL the greatest airline manufacturer EVER.

Oh and one more thing. . . If that had been Tex Johnson at the controls today, would we have seen a 787 do a barrel roll over Lake Washington?

In other aviation news:

Let's just hang these assholes and leave their bodies swinging for a few days outside the pilot entrance of a couple major air hubs.

Flight attendant caught wayward pilots unaware
By JOAN LOWY and JOSHUA FREED, Associated Press Writers Joan Lowy And Joshua Freed, Associated Press Writers

WASHINGTON – A call from a flight attendant to the pilots of the Northwest Airlines plane that overshot Minneapolis catapulted the cockpit crew from complacency to confusion.

Interviews with the flight crew and other documents released Wednesday by the National Transportation Safety Board indicate the pilots were completely unaware of their predicament until the moment the intercom rang. They were unaware that they had flown their Airbus A320 with 144 passenger more than 100 miles past their destination, that air traffic controllers and their airline's dispatchers had been struggling to reach them for more than an hour, or that the military was at that moment readying fighter jets for an intercept mission. . .

According to a statement signed by flight attendant Barbara Logan, she called the cockpit around 8:15 p.m. CDT to find out when they would be landing. She was told they would land around 12 Greenwich Mean Time. "I said I did not know the time — he said I was hosed and hung up."

The lead flight attendant called to get gate information and was apparently also hung up on, according to Logan's report. That flight attendant later got through to the cockpit. . .
The first controllers the pilots spoke to after becoming aware of their situation turned out to be in Winnipeg, Canada. They had failed to switch their radio frequency from one used by controllers in Denver to one used by Minneapolis controllers. They were still using the Denver frequency — which is the same as the Winnipeg frequency — when they tried to reach air traffic control.

Ok, these dip shit MFers totally betrayed the trust that the public, their employers and the 144 people with lives and families placed in them.
In China they'd have been executed by now. In Japan, they'd have saved the state the trouble and offed themselves. Here in America, the land of the politically correct urban weenie brains, they are currently in front of the NTSB trying to get their pilot licenses back and only "suspended" from their jobs. What a fucking joke. They should have been arrested before they had a chance to get off the plane. They should have been tried and convicted of endangering the lives of 144 people and countless others on the ground. stupid fucking bureaucrats in Washington want to chase "terrorists" all over the damn globe but we can't seem to get any justice against these morons.

Look, you people have one more chance to recruit me for the role of benevolent dictator of this little kingdom. I'll but a stop to the kind of shit, I assure you.

Cut 'n Paste from the Rude Pundit

This is just too good and oh so appropriate in this time of creationists, global warming denying and other slack jawed right wing bullshit that the masses are swallowing like 50 cent back alley whores. . . .

Thanks Rude, this is great. . .

Sarah Palin, James Inhofe, and the Rest: Meet Christopher Clavius, Copernicus Denier:
You cannot imagine the shitstorm Nicholas Copernicus started when he stated that the sun was the center of the universe with planets revolving around it. All of a sudden, holy fuck, not only was the Earth no longer the big astronomical cheese, but the fuckin' terra firma was moving. Copernicus, using heathen scientific observation, transformed everything. It meant that theology, physics, and, well, astronomy, as well as the general psychology of people who actually gave a shit one way or the other had to be reconfigured. Or you had to say that Copernicus was a fucking asshat and cling desperately to your flaccid Ptolemy.

Now you may be familiar with metal-nosed Tycho Brahe, a bad motherfucker who kicked mucho celestial ass and taught Johannes Kepler, but who could not make the leap to total heliocentrism, although he tried to reconcile Copernicus and geocentrism in a clusterfuck of intersecting orbits. But you may not know Christopher Clavius, the mathematician and astronomer who worked on the Gregorian calendar and who spent much of his later life denying Copernicus and those bastard heliocentrists.

Clavius clung to the fixed Earth-centered universe, coming up with seemingly logical ways to tell Copernicans they could go fuck themselves with their observations and explanations. One of Clavius's goes like this: the earth couldn't be rotating because buildings would collapse and water would swirl and tip in vessels. "For the same reason, a stone or arrow projected straight upward with great force would not fall back to the same place, just as we see happen on a swiftly moving ship," Clavius wrote in the 16th century. Physics would catch up to heliocentrism. But you can bet that people who found it more convenient to their maintenance of power (the Catholic Church, for instance) paraded out Clavius as gospel.

Actually, Clavius used scripture to back up his beliefs, along with such choice nuggets as saying that the Earth stays the center of the universe because "of its heaviness. It rests always in the lowest place, farthest from the heavens, namely the center of the cosmos, and once there, it cannot be displaced naturally." Absurd, no? But Aristotle and others said it was so; therefore, it was so.

The point here is not to mock poor Christopher Clavius for being a Jesuit tool for his German religious overlords. But one imagines that if at the time, with the wealth of the church behind him, had there been an internet and Fox "news" and a compliant media who believe that facts are mutable, Clavius would have been cited repeatedly in order to smack down that asshole Copernicus for daring to fuck with our sense of our place in the universe. And the uneducated masses, not knowing anything more than what the church told them, would have mostly agreed, "Fuck that Copernicus. What does he know?" We would still be arguing over it now, calling out Copernicus-deniers.

The Rude Pundit thought of Clavius when he read Sarah Palin's idiotic editorial in the Washington Post and then saw that she was daring to take on Al Gore over climate change. Truly, while he is not threatened possible sanction by a powerful church, it is sad to see Gore have to answer constant questions on whether or not climate change is real, to have to address every conspiracy theory that comes up, to have to talk to people as if an observed, confirmed fact is not such.

Clavius never completely gave up on geocentrism. But Galileo visited him in 1611, just before his death, and allowed him to use the telescope. Observing for himself such things as the phases of Venus and the moons of Jupiter, Clavius realized that what he believed about the order of the universe could not stand up to such scrutiny, and one of the last things he wrote was, "Since things are thus, astronomers ought to consider how the celestial orbs may be arranged in order to save these phenomena."

Clavius died the next year. Imagine Clavius in that moment, knowing his time was passed; knowing that everything he defended, all those centuries, all those theories, was now up for grabs; knowing - he had to - that he was wrong. The Rude Pundit would like to believe that we live among people who have the capacity for such enlightenment, but he fears that we are in an age where unbelief is, to rephrase, too convenient for truth.

Heap 'o hypocrites. . . and maybe something else

I don't give two shits about pro golf, Tiger Woods or pro anything sports, but this makes me wonder: Why the fuck don't people just mind their own fucking business and keep their narrow minded, self righteous, bullshit opinions of others to themselves.
This is between the guy and his women. Nobody else needs to be involved or even know about it yet it's national news.

"Well known sports figure goes out and gets some nookie on the side." That's big news? I wonder. . . would this be getting as much coverage and would these white preppy golf pros be reacting so negatively if Tiger Woods was an all American white boy instead of an all American black boy? Perhaps therein lie Tiger's sin. He's simply to wrong color to be playin the game of golf so well.

Fellow PGA pros speak out on Tiger Woods: 'A phony and a fake'

By Jay Busbee

This is how bad it's getting for Tiger Woods: even his fellow pros are now starting to speak out against him.

First it was Jesper Parnevik expressing his frustration and disappointment, saying he "probably thought [Woods] was a better guy than he is." But Parnevik's outrage is understandable, given that he was the one who initially introduced Elin Nordegren to Tiger Woods.

Now, however, two players with no apparent direct connection to the scandal are taking their shots at Tiger. Ben Crane, an eight-year pro with two wins on the PGA Tour, and Charles Warren, a six-year veteran of the PGA Tour, each sharply criticized Woods, on the record, in the current issue of Life & Style magazine. (Visor tip: Sports By Brooks)

"This is no surprise to anyone who knows Tiger," said Crane, pictured above. "He's a phony and a fake and he can't retain that squeaky-clean endorsement deal any longer."

Crane also hinted that Elin Woods could have known all about Woods' alleged extramarital activities. "She's no fool," he said, and speculated that she possibly "turned a blind eye because of the money and the kids and the lifestyle he provides."

Another NASA cluster fuck

These guys are like Keystone Cops.
Hard to imagine that this agency was once the glorious apex of human endeavor.
Warner Von Braun must be rolling over in his grave or somewhere looking down saying "read my papers! read my papers! I gave you everything you need today 50 yrs ago!"

NASA puzzled why parachutes failed in rocket test
AP

By MARCIA DUNN, AP Aerospace Writer Marcia Dunn, Ap Aerospace Writer – Thu Dec 3, 4:14 pm ET

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – NASA still isn't sure why two parachutes failed during a test flight of its prototype moon rocket just over a month ago.

The two-minute flight of the Ares I-X rocket went well Oct. 28. But only one of the three main parachutes on the first-stage booster opened properly. That caused the booster to slam harder than intended into the Atlantic Ocean. The booster was badly dented.

Another reason it sucks to live in West Virginia

Blessed are the conservative in Bible translation
AP

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Gospel of Luke records that, as he was dying on the cross, Jesus showed his boundless mercy by praying for his killers this way: "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."

Not so fast, say contributors to the Conservative Bible Project.

The project, an online effort to create a Bible suitable for contemporary conservative sensibilities, claims Jesus' quote is a disputed addition abetted by liberal biblical scholars, even if it appears in some form in almost every translation of the Bible.

Here are a bunch or right wing whack jobs who are presuming to "translate" the Bibble despite the fact that academics the world over spend their lives laboring over the job of translating obscure scriptures.

Why do these right wing fundamentalist backwoods hicks have such grand delusions?

Fuzzy Math

Ya gotta ask yourself: What level of intellect is FoxNews catering to or, what level of intellect is FoxNews running on. Usually the sum of a pie chart equals 100.
I hope this little graphic I bumped into on the web is a hoax and the people at FoxNews aren't actually dumb enough to run it.

Thanksgiving Thoughts. . .

Hello my friends. Here in America it's Thanksgiving. It's a time for families to gather, be grateful for their fortune, however large or small it may be, and feast. We should enjoy our family and celebrate our personal triumphs and tragedies. It is good to do so. It should also be a time to reflect upon what has happened between today and when people from Europe first set foot upon this great land. If you are of European descent, it's not YOUR fault that our ancestors raped, pillaged, stole and committed genocide against the native population, but it is your responsibility to recognize and be aware of what transpired before we came to be here. In that awareness, perhaps we can recognize the ongoing oppression perpetrated by those who find themselves in positions of authority and rule. Sometimes, it only takes one person to speak up and voice concern when injustice occurs. A single voice raised against injustice can sometimes make a difference. If we are grateful for what we have, and humbly accept our good fortune, we can also be a voice for reason and justice.
So be happy on this day of thanks and celebrate family, friends and good fortune, but never ever forget the past, because those who do are doomed to repeat it with all its horrors.

In the words of my friend Blair: "It's Thanks - for taking my fucking land - giving"

Bedagi (Big Thunder) late 19th century.
Wabanaki Algonquin writer

Give us hearts to understand;
Never to take from creation's beauty more than we give;
never to destroy wantonly for the furtherance of greed;

Never to deny to give our hands for the building of earth's beauty;
never to take from her what we cannot use.

Give us hearts to understand
That to destroy earth's music is to create confusion;
that to wreck her appearance is to blind us to beauty;

That to callously pollute her fragrance is to make a house of stench;
that as we care for her she will care for us.

We have forgotten who we are.
We have sought only our own security.
We have exploited simply for our own ends.
We have distorted our knowledge.
We have abused our power.

Great Spirit, whose dry lands thirst,
Help us to find the way to refresh your lands.
Great Spirit, whose waters are choked with debris and pollution,
help us to find the way to cleanse your waters.

Great Spirit, whose beautiful earth grows ugly with misuse,
help us to find the way to restore beauty to your handiwork.
Great Spirit, whose creatures are being destroyed, help us to find a way to replenish them.

Great Spirit, whose gifts to us are being lost in selfishness and corruption,
help us to find the way to restore our humanity.

Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the wind, whose breath gives life to the world,
hear me; I need your strength and wisdom.
May I walk in Beauty.

Why WVians look like ignorant hillbillies to the outside world

According to the American Cancer Society, here are the top ten smoking cities in the USA. Ive listed the cities followed by the percentage of people who smoke in those cities. WV, with <1% of the US population has the unique distinction of having THREE, yes three of it's metropolitan areas (if you can really call them "metropolitan" on the list. Congratulations WV, you come in 2, 3 and 6!

Yet another reason why we look like a bunch of ignorant hillbillies to the outside world.

U.S. residents fight for the right to hang laundry
Reuters
PERKASIE, Pennsylvania (Reuters) – Carin Froehlich pegs her laundry to three clotheslines strung between trees outside her 18th-century farmhouse, knowing that her actions annoy local officials who have asked her to stop.

Froehlich is among the growing number of people across America fighting for the right to dry their laundry outside against a rising tide of housing associations who oppose the practice despite its energy-saving green appeal.

The article goes on to say that people have been fined and that the biggest complaint is that people don't want to look at other people's clothes especially their underwear.

That's some fucked up shit right there. If you don't want to look at somebodies laundry, don't look at their clothesline. This country has gotten ridiculous with people being told what they can and can't do. Buncha fucking bullshit! Now they want to outlaw clotheslines because they look like "white trash" according to one commentator.

This whole idea of community associations is stupid and exclusive as far as I'm concerned. If you chose to live in a place like that, I feel sorry for you. Obviously you're a pitiful little prole who needs others looking out for your well being.

Let's tell these rule nazis to stick their elitist bullshit up their big asses and stay out of other people's business.

Oh, and BTW: if that cute little sweetie down the road wants to hang her underwear where I can see it, I'm all for it! And if old lady McGill wants to hang her underwear out likewise, I just aint lookin. But bravo to both of you for doing things green and natural.

According to the article 6% of household energy use comes from electric and gas laundry driers

9/11 trials in NYC? Not likely.

Just one question about this decision to move the trials of the masterminds involved with the 9/11 attacks to, of all places, NYC: Do they think the defense will NOT be granted a change of venue? How do they expect any law biding decent judge with any knowledge of the Constitution of tyje United States to thin any of them could get a fair trial in NYC? Timothy McVie's trial was moved out of Oklahoma City. So they'll dick around for 6 months deciding to change the venue and then another 6 months over where to change it to and it'll be another 6-12 months while all the pretrial motions, etc. are filed and ruled on.
Not to change the subject, but that'll put us somewhere around the end of '11 or beginning of '12 before the trial gets underway. How will all that efffect the '12 presidential election?

Arrogant white Eurocentric assholes!!!!

Outrage in Washington over Obama's Japan bow
by Stephanie Griffith Stephanie Griffith – Mon Nov 16, 11:24 am ET

WASHINGTON (AFP) – News photos of President Barack Obama bowing to Japan's emperor have incensed critics here, who said the US leader should stand tall when representing America overseas.

Obama on Monday was in China, having wrapped up the Japan leg of his Asia trip two days earlier. But Washington's punditocracy was still weighing whether or not the US president had disgraced his country two days earlier by having taken a deep bow at the waist while meeting Japan's Emperor Akihito.

Political talk shows have played and replayed the moment from the second day of Obama's week-long Asia tour, which set the blogosphere on fire and chat show tongues wagging.

"I don't know why President Obama thought that was appropriate. Maybe he thought it would play well in Japan. But it's not appropriate for an American president to bow to a foreign one," said conservative pundit William Kristol speaking on the Fox News Sunday program, adding that the gesture bespoke a United States that has become weak and overly-deferential under Obama.

Another conservative voice, Bill Bennett, said on CNN's "State of the Union" program: "It's ugly. I don't want to see it."

I get so tired of this kind of shit. This is the same mentality that kept people enslaved in this country for centuries. It's the same mentality that committed genocide against a people and culture who had attained a balance with the Earth unknown before or since. This is the same mentality that gave rise to the Nazi regime in the mid 20th Century.

I was contemplating recently the tradition of protocol back in the mid 19th Century. There were elaborate rules and procedures for meeting and greeting. Failure to adhere to these protocols resulted in international scandals and sometimes war.
I was thinking of how juvenile and silly all that was, but at the same time thinking of what shame it was that we've totally abandoned all that pomp and tradition. There is something about it that causes people to stop and assess one another and pause before plunging a knife or dropping a bomb.

So, I was glad to see President Obama showing respect and honor for the emperor of Japan who, until a few decades back was thought of as a deity in Japan. Would the president not bow before the Queen of England?

So one would think that conservative people who claim to honor and respect tradition would be supportive of such acts. No, these days, white superiority and racism reign supreme among these right wing corpo-fascist ass suckers.
I can only hope that soon, clear thinking, honorable and patriotic Americans will begin condemning these extremist and labeling them exactly what they are when they weigh in on things like this. We must not let this shit pass. IF we ever what this country to be united in a common purpose again, this sort of extremist shit slinging can't not be tolerated. Let's be liberal, let's be conservative and let's be moderate, but let's come out from those isolated corners of extremism that causes people to condemn every move and step the "other side" takes.

Oh, and Bill Kristol; catch up on some history before making dumbass ignorant statements like that. And Bill Bennett; YOU are fucking ugly we're tired of seeing YOU for the past three decades!!

News Media: Fact vs. Fiction

So, the democrats picked up two more seats in the house which gives them 259 seats to the republicans 176 (or something close to that). The democrats still maintain control of the senate. Presodent Barack Obama has the strong approval rating of nearly 60% in these very bad economic times (show me a president who ever had such support under anything LIKE these economic conditions). So both houses of congress, the presidency and the support of the American people. Hmmmmm.

Two days ago, the republicans lost a house seat that they had held for over 100 yrs. They won two governor's seats in states where republi'can governors are not at all unusual.
The media sees it differently. They talk of "the big win" for the republicans. The republicans see it differently. They boast of a new "transcendence" (just because Christie is a huge floating blob of fat doesn't mean he's going to float the whole party). I heard one talking head say that it was astonishing that a "true blue" state like NJ would elect that republican tub of shit. How quickly they forget Christine Wittman, the raging right wing republican gov of NJ who was a darling of the Bush/Reagan cartel.

The media has taken on an air of insanity. They have let their obsession with making every story a big 'breaking news' story that they've gone over the edge.

Do we have to become social scientists in our ability to sort through the garbage and render out the facts? Let's face it, the mass of desperate proles out there just aren't up to that task.
Where do we turn for real news? Where do YOU turn for real news?

Another fraud perpetrated by your messaging media

So the big news is "Republican Governors!". . . in states that have a long tradition of electing republican governors. When was the last time a governor of any party voted on a single piece of federal legislation?

Of course, the big story before last night was the fact that the moderate republican was out and the right wing Limbaugh/Beck/Palin takin it up the ass republican was in. Well, looks like the New York congressional district in question that hadn't elected a democrat to congress in over 100 yrs has rejected the republicans and their ridiculous sophomoric fascist tactics and elected a democrat to congress. Hello? Is anybody out there? Not much talk about that this morning. Thought that was going to be the big news the day after?!

So a couple republican take governor's seat in a VERY minor off year election that in previous times would have gone totally unnoticed. But in these days of 24/7/265 news cycles, where hyping every little morsel of any event is the standard operating procedure, this insignificant election suddenly spells the future of American politics.

Man, I am so glad I've turned all this shit off, don't watch the talking heads anymore and only log on occasionally. What a waste of time.

Marshall Mcluhan warned us. He spelled it out for us. He was specific about how it would come about and what the consequences would be. It wasn't a prediction, it was a solid estimation based upon the facts and trends of the day. Why do human being ignore inevitability of certain catastrophes?

Listen very carefully just because they're telling it to you!!!

New Jersey, Virginia Choose Governors as Palin Stumps in N.Y.
Bloomberg

Heidi Przybyla Heidi Przybyla – Tue Nov 3, 12:01 am ET

Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Governor’s races today in Virginia and New Jersey have been anticipated as barometers of next year’s midterm congressional elections. A U.S. House race in upstate New York may prove more meaningful.

The New Jersey campaign has been a referendum on the Democratic incumbent, Governor Jon Corzine, 62, and his record on property taxes, roads and other local issues. In Virginia, where Republican Bob McDonnell, 55, leads Democrat Creigh Deeds, 51, the race has turned on traditional concerns of taxes and transportation.

The New York election, in contrast, is a window onto a battle between moderate and conservative Republicans over the party’s future.

Ahem, I'm having a little problem with all the political commentary over this insignificant election cycle. Some of the media talk monkeys are claiming that this petty little election cycle is all about a referendum on Obama's administration. Some are saying the future of the republican party is at stake as is the future of the democrats.

Since when does some congressional race in some backwoods rednecked, upstate NY district determine the future of anything except the perpetual right wing redneck politics of upstate NY? VA governors race? The battle between southern rednecks and uber-groovy Washingtonians continues. Who will prevail this time? NJ? Do we even need to go there? When was the last time anything of any substance came out of New Joizee? I can't recall anything either. NJ is like the WV of the NE. They get no respect and there's usually good reason as to why that is.

So go ahead, tune into MSNBC, FOX News and the other news creation media and listen to how a bunch of pin heads without jobs that contribute anything to real people's lives spin this little excersize in democracy. Listen to them tell the trembling proles how the future of the nation is being shaped by a few minor politician whose collective intellect will accomplish zero in the years to come while they feed at the public trough.
Listen intently while the media defines the message.
Goodnight Marshall McLuhan. I believed you back in 1969.

Another great one passes

French anthropologist Claude Levi-Strauss dies
AP
By ANGELA DOLAND Angela Doland – 1 hr 7 mins ago

PARIS – Claude Levi-Strauss, widely considered the father of modern anthropology for work that included theories about commonalities between tribal and industrial societies, has died. He was 100.

The French intellectual was regarded as having reshaped the field of anthropology, introducing structuralism — concepts about common patterns of behavior and thought, especially myths, in a wide range of human societies. Defined as the search for the underlying patterns of thought in all forms of human activity, structuralism compared the formal relationships among elements in any given system.

A brilliant mind who came up with truly original ideas, not just new angles on old ideas which seems to be the norm. Like most of his kind, his ideas will continue to evolve, take on new depth and surprise scholars through the coming ages.

I have to admit, I was very surprised that he was still alive.

More dumbasses

Fired over a pin
Trevor Keezor had been working at Home Depot for over a year, when his boss pulled him aside and told him that he'd have to remove a certain pin from his orange apron. The American flag pin said "One nation under God, indivisible." Keezor refused, and he says he was fired for it. In a very buzzy article from the AP, reps from Home Depot explain that Mr. Keezer was fired for violating the dress code, not because the company agrees or disagrees with the button. Policy states that "only company-provided pins and badges can be worn" on the aprons. Not surprisingly, the story sparked tremendous interest in the Search box. Lookups on Mr. Keezor and "home depot firing" both surged into breakout status. And, also not surprisingly, a lawsuit is currently in the works. This is one story that hasn't ended yet.

Lessee, insubordination to begin with. That orange vest belongs to Home Depot. You're required to wear it when you work there. You work there at their discretion. They don't want references to anyone's "god" on the vest they have their employees wear in public. They don't want their customers to assume that Home Depot supports one or another mythology concerning sky pixies or other magic fairies. That's reasonable.
Refusing to abide by the rules the company set forth? You're fired asshole.

Changing names at work
Here goes one of the buzziest and most bizarre stories in some time. Larry Whitten, a hotel owner in New Mexico, ordered his staff of primarily Latino workers to change their names while working. For example, a worker who pronounced his name "Mahr-teen," would have to go by "Martin." The point, Mr. Whitten asserted, was to help the hotel become more profitable and draw more customers. But instead of customers, Whitten was met with protestors—and plenty of 'em. Additionally, the story's Search profile shot through the roof. In just 24 hours, Web lookups on "Paragon Inn," the hotel in question, surged into the thousands. In an article that scored a slew of votes, Whitten explains that he's helped turn around over 20 hotels, and this isn't racism. His guests, he contends, can't understand Spanish. Still, he later said that he was "sorry for the misunderstanding and insisted he has never been against any culture."

WTF?! Maybe you'd like your African-American employees to wear light toned makeup.
So, it's not racism or anything against a culture? Then you're just a completely ignorant dumb fuck bubba who has no business telling anyone anything.
Send this motherfucker AWAY!

Fat assed WV hillbillies make the national news again!!

Read it and be proud my people! You're in the national news again.
All ya gotta do is cruise a grocery store in any WV town to understand all of this. . . a bunch of grossly overweight ignorant buffoons loading up on hi-carb, low protein crap food. It really is sickening to see sometimes. And no, it's not like that every place, as these statistics show.
"a chronically diseased population." Nice.
Education is the key to all our problems. . . if they could only read the labels.
Have another Little Debbie cake, smoke another pack of cheap cigarettes, stick another chew in yer pie hole and pour another case of rock-gut beer down your throat.

Getting enough sleep? They aren't in West Virginia
AP

By MIKE STOBBE, AP Medical Writer Mike Stobbe, Ap Medical Writer – 56 mins ago

ATLANTA – Sleepless in Seattle? Hardly. West Virginia is where people are really staying awake, according to the first government study to monitor state-by-state differences in sleeplessness.

West Virginians' lack of sleep was about double the national rate, perhaps a side effect of health problems such as obesity, experts said. . . .

But experts noted several possible explanations: West Virginia ranks at or near the bottom of the nation in several important measurements of health, including obesity, smoking, heart disease and the proportion of adults with disabilities. Studies have increasingly found sleeping problems in people with certain health problems, including obesity.

"You would expect to see poorer sleep within a chronically diseased population," noted Darrel Drobnich of the National Sleep Foundation, a nonprofit advocacy and research organization.

FDA to ban sale of raw oysters from Gulf of Mexico
AP

By CAIN BURDEAU, Associated Press Writer Cain Burdeau, Associated Press Writer – Tue Oct 27, 4:18 pm ET

NEW ORLEANS – Federal officials plan to ban sales of raw oysters harvested from the Gulf of Mexico unless the shellfish are treated to destroy potentially deadly bacteria — a requirement that opponents say could deprive diners of a delicacy cherished for generations.

The plan has also raised concern among oystermen that they could be pushed out of business.

Why: because 15 people per year die eating oysters. They are all particularly vulnerable to bacterial infections such as people with AIDS, kidney disease, etc.

More gov't manufactured crisis and social manipulation. Speaking of which; are you good and scared of swine flu? Look out, it's comin to git ya.

Be afraid, be very afraid.

Hey Barack! How bout coolin down this shit.

Liars!!!!

The pilots of Northwest flight 188 told the National Transportation Safety Board that they were so engrossed in a complicated new crew-scheduling program on their laptops — a cockpit violation of airline policy that could cost them their licenses — that they lost track of time and place for more than an hour until they were brought back to alertness by a flight attendant on an intercom.

Bullshit!!!!
You lying little pricks! You were sleeping and you know it. Everybody knows it and you look like petty little lying fools for denying it. Your careers are toast either way, so just admit what incompetent fucks you are and go down with a shred of dignity.

Another NASA space farse

NASA puts new rocket on launch pad for test flight
AP
By MARCIA DUNN, AP Aerospace Writer Marcia Dunn, Ap Aerospace Writer – Tue Oct 20, 11:03 am ET

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – NASA's lofty new rocket arrived at the launching pad Tuesday for a test flight next week that comes at a time when the future of the country's spaceflight program is up in the air.

It's the first time in 34 years that a rocket other than the space shuttle has stood at Launch Pad 39-B. NASA modified the pad for this rocket, which is supposed to eventually carry astronauts to the moon.

But the White House may scrap those plans. A panel of aerospace experts that provided President Barack Obama with a list of possible exploration options is issuing its final report later this week.

The experimental Ares I rocket — taller than the Statue of Liberty — spent all night traveling from the hangar to the pad. The four-mile trip took more than seven hours.

The test vehicle will blast off next Tuesday on a 2 1/2-minute ballistic flight to demonstrate how the partial first stage performs. It's costing NASA $445 million.

They taken a shuttle SRB (solid rocket booster (the thing attached to the side of the big tank at launch)) and topped it with a stack of fake rocketry.
They will launch this SRB out into the ocean, recover the SRB just like they do every other SRB and then claim to have made a successful ARES launch. ARES is a farse, NASA has become a joke. The Europeans, Russians, Japanese and even the Chinese will soon make the once mighty US Space Program look like a comedy show.

It's sad that so many great NASA heroes, engineers and scientists from the 60s have to live to see this absurdity evolve.

AP Newsbreak: 1st sweat lodge survivor speaks out

By FELICIA FONSECA, Associated Press Writer Felicia Fonseca, Associated Press Writer – 1 hr 17 mins ago

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – A woman who took part in an Arizona sweat lodge ceremony tells The Associated Press that the spiritual guru who led the event pushed participants too far in what was supposed to be a life-expanding experience that culminated with people vomiting and passing out on the floor.

Texas resident Beverley Bunn is the first participant in the tragic incident to speak out publicly about the events that led up to the deaths. The 43-year-old told the AP in a series of interviews this week that by the time the sweat lodge ceremony began, the participants had undergone days of physically and mentally strenuous events that included fasting. In one game, guru James Arthur Ray even played God.

Within an hour of entering the sweat lodge on the evening of Oct. 8, people began vomiting, gasping for air and collapsing. Yet Bunn says Ray continually urged everyone to stay inside. . . .

"I can't get her to move. I can't get her to wake up," Bunn recalls hearing from two sides of the 415-square-foot sweat lodge. Ray's response: "Leave her alone, she'll be dealt with in the next round. . .

At one point, someone lifted up the back of the tent, shining light in the otherwise pitch-black enclosure. Ray demanded to know who was letting the light in and committing a "sacrilegious act," Bunn said. . . .

This really irks my ass. Why do white people have to co-opt every fucking thing they can possibly co-opt and then make money off it? This charlatan decided to take the Native American ceremony of the Sweat Lodge and turn it into a lethal event that he charged $9000 to participate in. This isn't the first time some dumb fuck white person has died in a sweat lodge because some dumb fuck white person didn't know a damn thing about what a sweat lodge was or how to construct the physical structure. Sometimes I just want to grab all my people up by the collar and slap the piss outta them.
I was taught how to do the sweat lodge by a Native American medicine man from the Santa Anna Puebla of New Mexico. He never charged me or the others he taught anything. We presented him with gifts that helped him to survive, but he never once asked us for anything. I've done hundreds of sweat lodges over the years. It has always been a comfortable and invigorating experience. It has always been about getting rid of tension and anxiety. About renewing the spirit and becoming more powerful. It has always been about connecting with the Earth and humbly accepting that which is gained and given in the sweat lodge.

This guy in AZ who tormented people inside what he called a sweat lodge is like a demon. The sweat is a process of cleansing. not tormenting. This piece of shit ought to be banished from mankind. I got it! Throw him in a cold dark jail cell. He has murdered people just a clearly as if he'd taken a knife and stabbed them. He is evil and not worthy of walking among the rest of us. GET THE MOTHER FUCKER OUTTA HERE!!

And for the rest of you. . . quit giving your money to dumb fuck pricks like this. What makes you think that someone getting rich off religion has anything of a spiritual nature to offer? Why are people so damn stupid? Over and over again we see these lying SOBs exposed for what they really are and over and over again people keep giving their money (resources) over to them. Here's an idea for you shit for brain motherfuckers who give your dollars to dick wads like this: save your money. Use your resources to feed your family or somehow enrich their lives. Use your resources to help others who are less fortunate. Now there's a spirual idea for ya to chew on while you gorge yourself on the jizz of some fast talking flim flam man with a bible in one hand and your balls in the other.

Bits and Pieces

I WIN!!! Yes, I fucking win!!!!!

I predicted to all my friends and family that the DOW would break 10k before the end of the year. Why? Because this is a country that has more and various resources than any other country or region in the world. We have a free and mobile workforce.
If it was 12000 a little over a year ago, it was going to top 10k by the end of the year. I said this back when it had dropped to 6500. My financial guy looked at me like I was nuts, my friends and family laugh and treated the comment like it was just more of my bullshit. . . not that I bullshit anyone. My cousin the broker was skeptical to say the least.
What else you want to know?! Go ahead, ask me.
12000 by June, probably in the first quarter.

Troy, NY: Boy Scout be unprepared!
A high school senior, Eagle Scout and West Point prospect has been suspended from HS for 20 days. Why? Because he had a 2" pocket knife in a survival kit he kept in the trunk of his car. Apparently he show some other kids his survival kit and got reported for 'carrying a weapon onto school grounds.'
Come on people. Get real. Are ya absofuckinglutely out of your minds? when I was a kid we used to carry our hunting rifles and shotguns in our cars to school to go hunting right after school. People are going politically nuts!

Washington insider David Bass charged with terrorism on flight from Columbia to Washington.

OK, so David Bass was actually drunk and not just "tired and sleep deprived" like he claims. That doesn't make him a terrorist up against charges that carry a 20 yr. sentence. Let's thank the "Patriot Act" for this little piece of buffoonery legislation. Besides giving the gov't the right to peek into your private life be damned the Constitution of the United States, it makes it a terrorist offense to "impede" a air flight.
I'm really getting tired of this idiocy. Isn't it time for the Obama administration to take a long hard look at the "Patriot Act" and GET IT OFF OUR BACKS NOW?!

Balloon lands after 6-year-old boy seen getting in
AP
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – A homemade balloon aircraft floated away from a yard in Colorado after a 6-year-old boy was seen climbing inside, setting off a frantic scramble by the military and law enforcement agencies before the balloon slowly touched down in a field.

The child's fate was unclear, and there was no sign of him in the balloon when it landed. Authorities feverishly searched for any sign of the child on the ground, including in the neighborhood where he lives.

WHAT?! The kid was alone in the backyard with a "homemade" ballon teathered in the backyard. Somebody take away these parent's children and sterilize them ASAP.
Stupid.

Twitter-friendly Meghan McCain recently posted a non-conservative picture of herself on her account. Wearing a revealing tank-top and holding an Andy Warhol DVD, McCain stated it was a “spontaneous night in…” And now she claims she’s thinking about removing herself from Twitter altogether.

Hey, I wanna see. who's got the pict?!

Interracial couple denied marriage license in La.
AP

By MARY FOSTER, Associated Press Writer Mary Foster, Associated Press Writer
NEW ORLEANS – A Louisiana justice of the peace said he refused to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple out of concern for any children the couple might have. Keith Bardwell, justice of the peace in Tangipahoa Parish, says it is his experience that most interracial marriages do not last long.

"I'm not a racist. I just don't believe in mixing the races that way,"

Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize!!

According to Nobel officials [and MSNBC],"their stunning pick was meant to build momentum behind Obama's initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim world and stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism."

So that seems simple enough. The Nobel committee picked him becaquse of his actions in trying to bring diplomacy to the forfront of world affairs. I'm just a dumb farmer, but I can understand that and feel down right comfortable with it, but oh when the hounds of negativity are let lose to spread their discontent and parade of horribles upon the ignorant public, it come out like this:

According to news sources like AP and Time:

"The last thing Barack Obama needed at this moment in his presidency and our politics is a prize for a promise."

But news of Barack Obama's award Friday drew a rebuke from the Republican Party chairman, ridicule from conservative bloggers, and even gripes from some liberals who think he hasn't done enough to wind down the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. . .

"What has President Obama actually accomplished?" said Michael Steele, chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Why can't America be proud? Why can we just sit back and bask in the glory of having our president, after 9 months in office be selected as the winner of the greatest prize that humanity offers for being an agent of world peace? Why do we have to find fault, make it into a negative and generally belittle this grand and glorious accomplishment. This is an accomplishment that EVERY American should be proud of.

I feel like ranti8ng and raving at the ignorance and idiocy of the press. I'd like to condemn the proletariat as nothing but simple minded morons for gobbling up this negative feast. I'd like to somehow express the absolute frustration that I feel.
But all that would be futile. All of it would be in vain.

This morning, I got up and knew I was coming into town so I decided to put on my "Obama '08" teee shirt. I pledged to wear one of my OBama tee shirt often after he was elected just to show my continued support. It wasn't until I got to town that I found out about the Nobel Prize. I'm glad I wore the shirt. I'm proud glad Mr. Obama is my president. I'm glad he won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Congratulations Mr. Obama. You have brought us into a new world. Keep fighting the good fight and keep raging against the fading light!

Corn culture

Corn. It's everywhere. It's in your soft drinks as "high fructose corn syrup" (one of it's worse forms). It's in every thing you eat that has "breading" or batter on it and comes from a fast food joint, a frozen bag or wherever. Corn is in avery piece of meat you buy at the grocery store. American farmers use mostly corn to feed all the pork, beef and poultry they grow. Go down to the local feed store and take a look at the ingredients of any bag of animal feed they sell. The #1 ingredient is always corn. Take a look at the dog food you buy your dog. Only the best and most expensive doesn't have corn as the #1 ingredient. Hey, dogs are carnivores. Why the fuck are we feeding our dogs and cats corn?
I have read that in America, over 60% of the items in the typical grocery store contain corn in some form or another.

Corn sucks. As a food additive and as a feed grain, it is tasteless and not all that good for you. Don't get me wrong. Right now I've got a field full of corn that is ripe for picking (I planted it the second week of July). I've been eating the hell outta that corn right off the cobb for the past couple weeks slightly steamed with a little butter and salt. When I'm sick of eating it that way, I'll turn off the electric fence and let the dear have the rest.
But that aside, corn is a poor substitute for pure food items. Most processed foods contain corn. If it's not a solid piece of vegetation or seafood, it probably contains corn in some form.

Surprised? Don't be. Ever been in farm country? What do you see growing more than anything else? Corn.

Now, there is an ad campaign going around saying that high fructose corn syrup is good for you and does no harm. That reminds me of Saddam's weapons of mass destruction. It's all bullshit.
I'm not going to go cut and paste all the evidence and research information showing that HFCS sucks. Do your own damn research. The info is out there if you want it.

Before the 70s, sugar cane and beets were processed to form sucrose, which is a 50/50 chemical combination of glucose and fructose which are both C6H12O6 sugar molecules. In the 70s, along come HFCS (high fructose corn syrup(that's the last time I'm spelling it out)). HFCS is a blend of a lot of fructose and less glucose. They are not chemically bonded so the body exerts no energy into breaking the chemical bond, it just goes ahead and processes the sugar directly into energy and stored as fat.

Just all you folks who have been around a while think about this. . .
Since the 70s, what have you old timers been noticing about the waistlines of American people? Think about the kids you went to school with back in the 50s and 60s. Remember the one of two "fat" kids in your class? Take a look at an old class picture and see how "fat" that or those kids were compared to the typical kid today. I'd say at least half if not more the the little dip shit yard apes I see around schools today are bigger than the biggest kid I went to school with.

I'm tired of corn and the corn culture of farming. The past couple months I've been working on poultry feed formulations that will wean my current flock off of corn based feeds in the next few months. Come spring when I begin raising chickens and turkeys for market, they will all be fed a corn free diet on top of their pasture grazing.

I will almost guarantee that next year's chickens will be the best tasting poultry most people have ever tasted.

Interestingly, a couple days ago I was talking to a guy who raises pasture and woodland fed hogs. He told me that Europeans will not eat american pork. Say it's too bland tasting. Has no taste to them. Seems that they feed all their pork barley.
Hmmmm, the feed mix my chickens are getting now is higher in barley and oats than corn. Next month I will lower the corn ingredient further, increase the barley and introduce rye. Can you imagine how good my poultry wil taste that's raised on barley, rye and oats and grazes pastures all day eating grasses and insects? F'in eh. Slap some of them chickens on the grill or smoke one of them turkeys!

My suggestion to all you folks out there who care about your health is to look into this issue. Decide for yourself. . . do you really want all that cheap nasty corn product in your food and in your body? If you decide you don't, start eating thinga that do not contain corn. Eat whole vegtables, eat whole grain breads that do not contain corn syrup, corn or corn glutton. Get smart. READ THE LABELS!

Just say NO to corn.

Healthcare and insurance company greed

I don't get it. The US gov't already picks up the bill on all the high risk insured with Medicare and Medicaid. Both those programs cover the elderly and the poor.

Big dollar private insurance companies only cover those who have jobs and/or enough money to buy their own insurance. This is the low risk faction of the American public. . . working age, active, with money to spend on good food and preventitive care.

Most of what the proposed health care reform addresses covering a wider swath of the high risk faction.

So WTF are the insurance companies and right wing corporate lacky politicians worried about? Are they afraid that the gov't might want to start covering some of those lower risk citizens so that the hundreds of billions it pays out to the high risk folks that the insurance companies refuse to cover might be supplemented by some of the low risk population?

I think the greedy pimping insurance companies have been getting a break for too long. Shit, it's like corporate welfare to let them get away with oinly insuring the young and healthy. IF they want the gov't to stay away from their easy pickins turf, maybe the gov't ought to begin making them insure some of the higher risk folks. Also, lets see their books. Open up MFers. Let's see how much your are making and how many high risk folks you can afford to insure.

Why should we let them get away with making billions while the American tax payers foot the bill for the high risk citizens. I'm tired of supporting the obscene salaries and profits of the big insurance companies. Let's bust their asses open and make them take part in this reform movement.

A couple items of no interest or significance

I was on the way out the door on Sat. with a handful of shot gun sheels, .22cal bullets, and other shells for my son to shoot down in the barnyard (he likes to shoot guns when he comes home from the big city) when the phone rang. "Hi, my name is Ms. Dumbass and I'm an NRA member calling to ask you to participate in a one question poll." How funny. . . the coincidence of it all. . . The one question poll was something to the effect of 'do you approve of the United Nations banning guns in Amurkkka?'
So I'm like "what're you? Outta your fucking mind? What makes you stupid brain dead proletariat NRA zombies believe for a split second that the UN sets law in the USA? Are you stupid fuckers COMPLETELY ignorant of how the world and more specifically, your own country works? Did you ever take Civics in elementary school? Did you fucking graduate from high school with any knowledge whatsoever of American government?
"But sir, the United Nations is trying to ban guns in Amurkkka, would you be willing to listen to a three minute presentation by our executive VP Wayne LaPierre?" "What? A fucking frenchie? Do you realize that the french are trying to ban capitalism in the United States? Don't you know that the French have been for years taking control of our governemnt and turning us into a socialist state? And you want me to listen to some Frenchie tell me about my guns? STFU!"
I then went on down to the barnyard and my son and I shot rifles, shotguns and pistols just like we used to do when he was a little kid and just like I used to do 50 yrs ago when I was a little kid with my father.

On another note: It's going to be a bad year for the wild critters around here. It's been a wet cold summer and there is hardly any fruit on the fruit trees and a VERY sparse nut and acorn crop out there. If it's as cold and hard as I suspect it will be this winter, we're going to see many wild animals die of starvation by spring.
It'll be a sad thing to watch, but nature has it's way of gathering the gene pool.

Racist bullshit!

Rep. Joe Wilson (SC) is a dumb southern racist cracker. I'm surprised he didn't just go ahead and yell: "You lie, n@##$%!"

See, these little pecan sized brained racist white southern boys just can't get over the fact that a black man is president of the United States. They believe that every white man in Amurkkka should have a crack at being prezeedent before letting a black man have a shot. No matter that President Obama is the most intellectual, level headed and personable man to hold the office in my lifetime, they believe that no matter who the white man is, he'd be better than "that one.". . . and let's face it, we all know the word that "one" is code for.

Luckily, these little piece of shit mother fuckers are a dying breed. Even in the south they are shunned and disliked by many (usually most).

The thing we have to do is be outraged by this type of behavior. Treat it with contempt at every opportunity.
All my fellow white folk: don't let people like this say stupid dumb fuck racist shit and turn a deaf ear to it. Turn toward them, look them directly in the eye and ask "what did you say?" Make them repeat themselves. Then explain to them that you find their words offensive. DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THEIR BULLSHIT ANYMORE!!!!!

Fascist right wing pricks still at it. . .

Obama goes back to school

On September 8, in what the Department of Education is touting as a "historic" speech, President Obama will be talking directly to students across the U.S., live on the White House website. . .

But Jim Greer, the chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, came out swinging against the planned speech. An excerpt from his statement:

"The address scheduled for September 8, 2009, does not allow for healthy debate on the President's agenda. . . "

Ah, so now that the democrats are in office, the republicans tell us that a president can't give a speech because him giving a speech "doesn't allow for healthy debate?!"

These motherfuckers are out of their minds. Am I the only one who remembers what we endured under the last republican administration? Talk about a lack of healthy debate! If anyone dared disagree they were labeled a traitor. That sorry excuse for a president declared himself that one was either 100% with his agenda or they were against the nation itself and now these fascist pricks tell us Obama can't give a speech on education because it "doesn't allow for healthy debate?!"
Geez, I recall in years past. . . and I'm talkin a pretty good collection of years and decades in my past, when presidents were allowed to give speeches about anything they wanted at any point in time they chose and no one argued with their right or ability to do so.
I get so tired of these right wing fascist prick crackers and their rhetoric of hate and total negativity.

Thank god we now have a president who is intellectually above all that bullshit and realizes that education is the only way out of poverty, economic oppression, racial ignorance, and inhumanity. I've been saying it for many years and saying here since I started blogging. . . education will solve most of our ills that are solvable.

Talk on Prez!

Spaced out in Amurkkka. . .

When I was growing up, nothing was more important and profound to me than space travel. Yea, I was a little hippie punk who was very concerned about the state of our nation which was in total turmoil at the time. Social justice was and always has been very important to me, but at the time, the greatest adventures in human history were being played out right before our eyes. We could watch them live on the TV screen however b&w ands grainy they were. Early satellite launches (I remember the first time I watched a rocket blast off on TV) Alan Shepherd's first flight, the first space walks, the first Saturn V launch, the first men to orbit the moon (what Christmas eve that was), the first men to walk on the moon. . . they are all events ingrained indelibly in my mind.
Who wasn't awed by what was happening at the time?
But these things have been said over and over. It's old news. Mercury, Gemini and Apollo are legendary at this point and nothing I can say could move them any further in the social conscious.
Look around you. If it has a computer chip, it is something that owes it's origin to 60s space technology. Many of the materials we use in daily life are a direct result of solutions used for space travel. Imaging technology, telecommunications technology (your cell phone), GPS and many many more things we take for granted are a direct result of the technology developed for enabling us to travel into space.
We live in the age of Apollo. We should be known in future history as the Apollonians.

What happened? Why did it all come to a screeching halt? Imagine. Just imagine if you will, where we'd be if we'd continued our quest for adventure? What if we hadn't abandoned the magnificent Saturn Rocket for a 4.5 million lb. piece of shit?
Decades of precious space dollars have gone into funding a system that was antiquated before it was launched. Sure, it was a good idea, but it turned out to be expensive and not very effective. Three launches of a Saturn V rocket could have put the entire space station into orbit. Why was Saturn abandoned? Could it have been because certain politicians wanted an All-Amurkkkin space vehicle instead of one developed by a bunch of German rocket scientists? Uh huh.
Ironically, the next generation space launch system will be highly dependent on a modified J-2 engine which is the second stage engine of the Saturn invented and developed by none other than Werner Von Broun and his band of merry Germans in Huntsville, Alabama. Hell, the whole system being developed is nothing but a souped up Apollo system that was originally proposed by Dr. Von Braun in the 50s. So in the end, all those politicians and NASA administrators can kiss Von Brouns dead ass. After four decades of spinning our wheels, we're going right back to the concepts and hardware first proposed and developed by Von Broun. Arg. Sorta. A large number of current NASA scientists are proposing that the current Genesis concept that uses solid rocket booster (the kind responsible for the Challenger disaster) is not as good as one they have proposed that is very similar to the original Saturn system. NASA officials refuse to even look at these proposals. Hmmmmmm.

I am so frustrated and saddened by America's lack of interest ands commitment toward space exploration and development and the politics that have been injected into it all I've got little else to say. . . except, "Hey y'all, watch this!"

WTF?!

Charges dropped against W.Va. native Gates
BOSTON -- Prosecutors have dropped a disorderly conduct charge against prominent black Harvard University scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr., who was arrested at his home after a reported break-in.

Just when you started to think it was getting safe out there!

You gotta be fucking kidding me! Can we have a little outrage?!?! Will somebody slap the shit outta the rednecked thug cop who pulled this one?

I really do hope that Mr. Gates ("Skip" to his WV home-boys) doesn't just let this drop.

See, I try and have fun and not take everything so damn serious and then some dickwad motherfucking redneck prick cop comes along and does some stupid shit like this . . . .

Here's how it shoulda gone:
HLG: Here's my ID.
Cop: OMG! You're Henry Louis Gates? Oh, I'm so sorry Mr. Gates. Is there anything we can do to help you? No? Well, it's an honor to meet you sir. Sorry to have bothered you. Have a nice evening.

but noooooooo. . . the fucking moron, like the majority of white Amurkkkin fucking morons didn't recognize Mr. Gates or have any clue who one of the greatest scholars of the 20/21st Century was. Nope, he only saw a black guy with a backpack. . . and he probably didn't call him a "black guy."

Yea, I try and not take things too serious.

The meaning of life!

Yes, it's been decided. . . . by me. There is only one purpose in life. Nothing else matters. Everything else is a scam.
The sole purpose of life is to enjoy life. Have fun and be happy. And think about it: isn't that what everyone really wants despite the misery they live with?
Fuck all the serious bullshit. Get over all the childhood trauma. Just have fun. Maybe if we did that, our children wouldn't have to deal with "childhood trauma."
I'm tired of the merry-go-round of self analysis and trying to figure out why I did this or you did that which made me feel this, etc., etc. AD NAUSEUM!!!!
Get over it all and just have fun.

I'm going to go have fun and smoke some pig meat. I stopped at a road side stand just outside the St. Pete, FL airport last week and had some of the best ribs I'd ever tasted. I'm inspired. I gotta go do some rubbed and cooked low and slow my way.
I'm also going to climb on my tractor and cut the weeds that are infesting my pasture fields. When nightfall comes I'll be floating in my little swimming pool watching the stars.

That's what I'm going to do for fun the rest of the week. What have you got planned?

Where I've been

Folks, I've been pretty much off-line for the past couple months. I've also been disconnected from cable TV and other news media.
I've gotta tell ya, I haven't missed a damn thing.
But Wow! Have I read some great stuff! I've pretty much been spending all my spare time reading. I've also been getting to bed much earlier, getting up earlier, getting out earlier and getting much more done during the day.
Ya know, I'm becoming convinced that for people with addictive tendencies, the internet and cable TV are nothing more than another drug.
A toast:
Here's to positive action, healthy living and good thoughts for all of you.

Right wing extremist morons

Gingrich backs off 'racist' label for Sotomayor
By JULIE HIRSCHFELD DAVIS, Associated Press Writer Julie Hirschfeld Davis, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON – Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Wednesday he shouldn't have called Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor a racist, but said he was still concerned that she would bring bias to her decisions.

OK, this is too good to pass up. . .

So these morons, Rush Limpdick and Newt Gingershit called Ms. Sotomayor a "racist." In itself, a couple extremist right wingers calling a brilliant highly decorated latina jurist a racist is so absurd it's sorta funny. I mean, Limpdick compared her to David Duke. WTF? Surely everyone except the unmovable 25% can see what an idiotic act of desperation such rhetoric actually is. I mean, come on, extremists of the party that gets horribly low support from minority groups because of their anti-minority policies calling anyone "racist?!" You gotta be kiddin.

So how can we look upon this with anything but pity? These are desperate, pitiful human beings. They must be scared. They must feel a terrible amount of insecurity and possibly inferiority at this point.
Yes, I know how recreant and treasonous their past actions have been. And I know how their ignorance and blind greed brought our nation to the brink of collapse. And yes, I realize if they get another foot in the door (which they will) they'll do nothing but repeat their stupid ass bullshit.
But how should we react to those who are sick? Should we have pity? Should we feel sorrow? Should we hate them? Should we treat them like low life pieces of shit? I dunno. I'm contemplating these things.

I'm also stuck in the middle of Ohio taking care of my son who just had knee surgery and don't have much else to do.

What do you think?

Takin a break

I'm going off line. I gotta take a break.
The republicans and their right wing freakazoid followers have been defeated. . . for now. President Obama is doing a great job (don't expect perfection).
I've got a lot of things to do in my life and hanging around in cyber space does nothing but distract me from the things I need to do.
I want to live an easy, happy life.
All that means I gotta get outta this cyber place for a least a while.
I'll still check my e-mail now and then, but not on a daily basis.
Hope everything goes well with all of you folks out there who have become my friends here in the blog/cyber world.
I'll be back sometime sooner or later.

Keep Talking Dick

Cheney Says He Favors Limbaugh Over Powell as Model Republican

May 10 (Bloomberg) -- Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Republicans are better served by conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh than by former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
"My take on it was Colin had already left the party," Cheney said on CBS's "Face the Nation," noting that Republican Powell endorsed President Barack Obama, a Democrat, during the 2008 presidential campaign. "I assumed that that is some indication of his loyalty."
Cheney, 68, clashed with Powell, 72, a retired four-star general, over tactics in the war on terrorism during former President George W. Bush’s administration.
Asked if he would "take Rush Limbaugh over Colin Powell," Cheney said, "I would."

Every time I read something this over achieved man-baby says since Obama's election, I want to bitch slap him and tell him to shut the fuck up, but after this, I realize that he is doing the dems a public service.
What possibly makes these morons like him think that all this railing against Obama and his supporters and the trashing of the moderates in the party does anything but cement the crossover vote that Obama received from moderate republicans in Nov.? What makes them think that this kind of talk is going to do anything but alienate more republicans and cause more cross overs to the democratic ranks from not only average citizens, but politicians, financial supporters and political scholars.

The other things this displays is the absolutely pitiful desperation these criminal pricks are feeling right now. There they sit teetering on the brink of being criminally prosecuted for the crimes they committed during their administration. How must that make them feel? Take Cheney; this guy started in presidential politics all the way back in the 70s when Gerald Ford was president. He was part of the Reagan-Bush administrations, served as defense secretary and finally was appointed by Bush the Elder and his cronies to run as VP with MoronMonkeyBoy. He views himself as having had a great and illustrious political career that should be noted in history. Now he realizes that he will be a historical footnote in one of the worse political boondoggles in American history. He may even face the ultimate humiliation of standing trial and being convicted of crimes that will eventually be described in history as treason. How must he feel. Frankly, I suspect he feels like a decrepit piece of shit. I wouldn't doubt that he is so disappointed with his life that he will suffer miserably till the end. . . sad, very sad.

So go ahead Dick(wad), keep talking. Don't stop. Tell em what bad disloyal men Colin Powell, Arlan Spector and any other republican dissenter are. Tell em how Obama's policy fails to fix all the things you treasonous bastards fucked up. Don't stop there. Question his integrity, his patriotism and his overall abilities. Take your best shot.

The saddest part of all this is that these recreant hate mongers are doing nothing but continuing to destroy the two party system in America. . . or are they? Maybe they're just destroying the republican party which has become so vile and corrupt. Maybe what will emerge is a much better and stronger party that will work for the good of America rather than the good of a greedy few. Perhaps what he is doing with his rhetoric of hate and self promotion is actually going to help rescue the two party system. We'll see. . . eventually. Meanwhile, keep talking Dick(wad).

Argh. . . Why?

NYC cops to question Sutherland on head-butt claim
AP –
Thu May 7, 9:50 am ET
NEW YORK – Police in New York City say Kiefer Sutherland is expected to turn himself in for questioning about a fashion designer's claim that the actor head-butted him at a nightclub.
The star of Fox television's "24" could be charged with misdemeanor assault in the incident early Tuesday. He's expected to turn himself in on Thursday to talk with police.
Jack McCollough of the Proenza Schouler (Pro-EN'-za SKOO'-ler) fashion house claims Sutherland attacked him after an argument, leaving him with a cut on his face. Actress Brooke Shields may also be questioned as a witness.
Sutherland was released from a Glendale, Calif., jail last year after serving 48 days on a drunken driving charge.
Several calls to representatives for Sutherland, McCollough and Shields haven't been returned.

Come on folks, we have real problems that should attract the attention of everyone in our world. Wouldn't it be better to focus our attention on relevant matters and issues that effect us, our children and future generations?
Why do we bother with these people? Why do these morons get the status and the gross amounts of money that they do?
For the most part, they're a bunch of imbeciles, especially the 2nd gen boreasses like this guy and the likes of Charlie Sheen.
We treat these dumb fucks like they're royalty or worse yet, like they have some relevance. At best they are marginally talented pretty faces, at worse they are dull witted dunderheads who are a danger to themselves and people around them.
I mean, come on, when they cart these buffoons out and give them a political platform it almost makes me want to vote against ANYONE they support.
Yea, they can play a part, but if you put them into real life situations, they'd be clueless. Put em on a working class budget and see how far these little spoiled twits would get.
I dunno, maybe most of them are alright people. Maybe they're folks with good ethics and social standards, but when they become these venerated icons of what our society stands for it kinda makes me sick. We have real life heros doing real life work in this country. There are people out there busting their asses trying to make the world a better place for all of us. Where is their celebrity? Where is their reward?

So next time you go down to the local movie house and spend your hard earned bucks to see some Hollywood bullshit, remember where your money is going. It's going into the pockets of actors, producers, directors and others who are filthy rich, contribute a bare minimum to society and can't relate to you in the slightest.
Since 1974 I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've stepped foot into a movie theater, but I'll bet I've seen most of the movies of any significance that have been made since then. Most were a waste of my time.

Is your life that bad that you have to escape through Hollywood fantasy bullshit? Go buy a book.

Headlines from West Virginia, the nation and around the globe.

Tolls discussed on other W.Va. highways
By The Associated Press
Advertisement - Your ad here

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Turnpike isn't the only toll road in the state's future.

Department of Transportation spokesman Brent Walker says that next year, motorists using the West Virginia section of the Mon-Fayette Expressway can expect to pay a toll to travel the 4-mile route.

Walker says the Pennsylvania portion of the Morgantown-to-Pittsburgh highway is already a toll road.

Another stretch of highway being considered for tolls is U.S. 35 between Winfield and the Ohio River. Walker says money raised by tolls could be used to finance the last 14 miles of expanding the road to four lanes.

When I drive home from southern FL every few months, the absolute worse stretch of road is the last part of I-77 which is called the "WV Turnpike." It is a horribly planned and badly built piece of road that the state charges about $4 to run the length from Princeton, WV to Malden, WV. It was originally built as a two lane highway and at one time was the most dangerous stretch of road in the US. Today it is sorta up to interstate standards having had billions pumped into it through the efforts of WV Sen. Byrd and Rockefeller. I'm not sure what the money they're collecting is paying for. Probably to support the bogus, do nothing "WV Turnpike Commission" which is made up of political hacks appointed by the governor.

But now they tell us they want to charge us to travel other crappy little roads like Rt. 35 which is another very dangerous two lane highway. In any other place in America, Rt. 35 would long ago have been made a 4 lane.
This is what happens when we continue to elects numb skull politicians without a creative thought in their heads to state office. We now have one of, if not the dumbest governor in my lifetime running the ship of state. Welcome to the backwoods of WV.

Researchers: West Virginians' poor health tied to education
By Davin White
Staff writer

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia ranks among the three worst states for its low rate of very healthy people, according to a new study from a national health foundation.

Meanwhile, researchers with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Commission to Build a Healthier America say just a few years of extra education makes a big difference in the health of an American. The foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Princeton, N.J., with a goal of improving Americans' health.

Compiling data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, researchers found that more than 52 percent of survey respondents from West Virginia said they were not in very good health.

Likewise, West Virginia ranks 50th among states and the District of Columbia because there is such a large gap between the overall rate of adults who are not in "very good" health and the rate of West Virginia's college graduates not in very good health.

More than half of West Virginia's adults are not very healthy, while just 1 in 3 of its college graduates are not very healthy, researchers say.

More than 3 of 4 West Virginians who did not finish high school said they are not in very good health.

"Education policy is health policy. In the United States we tend to treat all these issues separately," said David Williams, staff director of the Commission to Build a Healthier America.

One of the least educated states is one of the least healthy. What a surprise.

I've been saying it since I started this blog and long before. . . "Education is the best solution to almost ALL of the problems we face in this country."

Maine becomes 5th state to allow same-sex marriage

By GLENN ADAMS, Associated Press Writer – 21 mins ago
AUGUSTA, Maine – Maine's governor signed a freshly passed bill Wednesday approving gay marriage, making it the fifth state to approve the practice and moving New England closer to allowing it throughout the region.
New Hampshire legislators were also poised to send a gay marriage bill to their governor, who hasn't indicated whether he'll sign it. If he does, Rhode Island would be the region's sole holdout.
The Maine Senate voted 21-13, with one absent, for a bill that authorizes marriage between any two people rather than between one man and one woman, as state law currently allows. The House had passed the bill Tuesday.

Welcome to the 21st Century as once again, freedom progresses in America. . . most of America. In WV this year, they tried to pass a "marriage act" that defined marriage as only between and man and woman.

Swine Flu Likely to Return to U.S. Next Winter

WEDNESDAY, May 6 (HealthDay News) -- Many experts are predicting that the current outbreak of swine flu, much like the regular seasonal flu, will subside during the summer months and reappear in the fall. . .

So far, some of the most affected nations have been in North America and Europe, but the flu is spread more easily in the winter, and it's already fall in the Southern hemisphere. Experts fear public health systems could be overwhelmed if swine flu and regular flu collide in major urban populations, according to the Associated Press.

And it will kill us all THEN! Yaaaawn, they just can't let it go. Too much money to be made creating and stocking up on vaccines and treatment meds.

Keep remembering, 30,000-50,000 people die from influenza and related complications every year in the USA alone. 250,000-500,000 die world wide. So far, a handful have died from "swine flu" world wide and only one single solitary death in the USA. Yea, let's put this crisis on hold till fall, ok?

Ethanol test for Obama on climate change, science

By H. JOSEF HEBERT, Associated Press Writer – Sun May 3, 10:11 am ET
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama's commitment to take on climate change and put science over politics is about to be tested as his administration faces a politically sensitive question about the widespread use of ethanol: Does it help or hurt the fight against global warming?
The Environmental Protection Agency is close to proposing ethanol standards. But two years ago, when Congress ordered a huge increase in ethanol use, lawmakers also told the agency to show that ethanol would produce less pollution linked to global warming than would gasoline.
So how will the EPA define greenhouse gas emissions from ethanol production and use? Given the political clout of farm interests, will the science conflict with the politics?

This is pure corporate bullshit. The only people in favor of increased ethanol use are the corporate corn producers and ethanol manufacturers. Burning ethanol is not the answer to greenhouse gas reduction. Reducing the amount of fuels we burn is the only answer. We HAVE to take an aggressive approach to cutting back the use of oil based products and developing non-combustion alternative energy sources.

Joe The Plumber Slurs Gay People: I Would Never Let "Queers" Near My Children

The Huffington Post

Joe the Plumber, aka Samuel Wurzelbacher, sat down for an lengthy interview with Christianity Today to discuss his views on the future of the Republican party. Wurzelbacher took the opportunity to speak out against gay marriage, which he says is wrong. The unlikely conservative spokesman went so far as to say he doesn't allow openly gay people "anywhere near" his children.

There ya have it folks, from the guy the republicans are using as an icon of their constituency.
Ya gotta admit, the entertainment value is significant since the right wing extremist whack jobs have made themselves irrelevant for anything else.

`Star Trek': Are the hardcore fans onto something?

By TED ANTHONY, AP National Writer – Wed May 6, 6:37 am ET
It took just a few seconds of footage — a single trailer, dropped from the heavens with great fanfare — for the hue and cry to rise on Trekmovie.com, the top fan site for J.J. Abrams' new "Star Trek" movie. By the hundreds they weighed in, a contentious cacophony that would have jammed even Lt. Uhura's comms system.
Spock's voice is weak. The Enterprise bridge looks like it was manufactured by Apple in Cupertino. The ship wasn't built in Iowa; it was built in San Francisco. The transporter effect is too different. Anton Yelchin looks nothing like the original Chekov. John Cho is way too old to be Sulu. Jim Kirk was never this rebellious. Sounds like Star Wars. Where's Shatner? It's a reboot. No, it isn't. Yes it is. How dare you. How dare YOU?

Whoa, wait a minute. . .
I find entertainment news frivolous and unimportant. . . most of the time.
Look, The original Star Trek is like a great piece of literature. Yea, it's corny and overacted, but it was part of a major shift in American thinking along with the social and scientific revolution of the time.
Now, 40+ yrs later they want to redo the original? No. Fucking no. You can't do that bozos. You can take up where the last one left off or you can go back in time before the original, but you can't recreate the original. It would be like rewriting Beowulf. Use the theme, change the names, do it in another place and time, but you can not rip Kirk, Sulu, Scotty, Bones, Spock, etc.
Stay away from this one. It can only suck.
