According to the American Cancer Society, here are the top ten smoking cities in the USA. Ive listed the cities followed by the percentage of people who smoke in those cities. WV, with <1% of the US population has the unique distinction of having THREE, yes three of it's metropolitan areas (if you can really call them "metropolitan" on the list. Congratulations WV, you come in 2, 3 and 6!
Yet another reason why we look like a bunch of ignorant hillbillies to the outside world.

Sagacious,
If they ever do a survey on hemorrhoids Washington, DC will be number one.

Yea Rainy, every state has it's charm. I was thinking about the state in biggest need of an enema to which Texas immediately came to mind.
Damn near got my ass kicked in a bar outside Victoria, Texas for suggesting that very thing one night.
Sagacious,
If you ever make it to Vernon, Texas? Don't make the mistake of calling their shrimp, "Red River Grubs." I think Angelo and I got a glass bottle of mustard all over our backs that night.

With the smoking and the coal mining, I guess you could consider West Virginians pulmonary daredevils.
Stimpy, Coal mining isn't a health problem anymore. Today it's all done by riping off the entire mountain and surface mining the coal. It's called "mountain top removal mining," but it's actually "mountain removal mining." All done with massive machines and only a small handful of people. Meanwhile we have one of the highest unemployment rates which contributes to the ongoing problems of bad health, illiteracy, poverty, alcoholism, sitting around feeling sorry for ourselves, dancing without moving our arms to monotonous music, etc., etc.
Hillbilly culture in general.
hey... look at the bright side... you could be a floridian instead...
Puddy, Not so bright. . . my second home is in FL.
Sagacious, I know you're dang glad to be wrapping up your turkey season work tonight. I half way expect you to be eating ham tomorrow, smile.
Whatever's on your plate, hope you enjoy the day.
Kit, We skipped turkeys this year. Last year was so stressful we decided to take this year off.
Wait till next year! I have a plan for raising corn free chickens and turkeys. Besides all the vegetation, insects and small critters they eat, they'll get lots of barlet, oats based all natural feed. Of course they will live in an all natural pen free environment roaming the fields and woods around our farm.
Maybe this is a dumb question, but do turkeys lay eggs daily like chickens? I mean, are they good for anything other than the oven?
