It's so fucking complicated. . . .

No it's not! There are easy and simple answers to the problems that face this nation. I'm about to enlighten you non-thinking morons and show you how simple it all is and in the process show you how bamboozled you proles have become. You dumb fucks can't see the trees for the forest anymore.

National debt: This is so fucking easy that a 5th grader ought to be able to figure it out.
1. We eliminate tax breaks for the rich. Then we increase the tax rates on the rich. Rich people make a whole fucking lot more money than the average Joe. They don't worry about having milk money or how long till the next paycheck. They can afford to pay more and the fact that they are enjoying the finest things that our society has to offer is reason enough for them to pay more.
That in itself will eliminate a lot of our debt worries.
2. Get the fuck out of Iraq and Afghanistan. We are spending tens of billions per month in those places. It is sucking us dry. STOP FUCKING DOING IT!

There, the national debt problem is solved. Go ahead, do the numbers. It works.

Healthcare:
1. Do above. Now we can afford a sane national healthcare program.
2. Make the focus of the national healthcare program preventative. Uh huh. You've got to take steps to get healthy and stay healthy or else you get CUT OFF! That's right, if you're an over bloated fat ass with type II diabetes and you refuse to do anything about the fact that you are an over bloated fat ass and guzzle ridiculous amounts of sweetened drinks and eat unhealthy fat and carb ladened foods then you get comfort measures only. We're not paying for hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of procedures to prolong your life. If you're too lazy to change your unhealthy habits, you die.
Same goes for smokers, drinkers, etc. There will be all the help possible available to you to quit partaking of these unhealthy life styles. Fat farms, rehabs, smoking clinics, you name it, it'll be available, but if you choose to not take advantage of those opportunities our valuable healthcare resources will not be provided to you.

There's your affordable healthcare.

Jobs:
1. Any corporation that moves jobs from the borders of the United States to some third world nation will receive no tax breaks of incentives. In fact, you will be taxed for a predetermined amount of time for every job you transfer overseas. Don't like it? Get the fuck outta here.
2. Companies that create jobs within the borders of the United States will receive tax incentives and breaks. They will have the full cooperation of the gov't in all their business provided that these jobs are good jobs that meet certain minimum benefit requirements as far as pay scale, time off, etc.
3. All gov't spending will be closely monitored. All good and service purchased by the gov't will be provided by U.S. based companies whenever possible. The gov't will help companies meet the requirements of the gov't for goods and services.
4. All companies doing business with the U.S. gov't will comply with certain standards of pay for EVERY worker in the company. The top salary in said companies cannot exceed a predetermined multiple of the lowest salary in the company.

There will be fair and equitable distribution of resources in this country while providing for a clear and defined system of class based upon monetary measures.
We don't need to be against yachts, private airplanes, mansions, etc., but no one needs to have all those things and then be able to afford one hundred more of them.

There are your jobs.

There is just one problems with all this. It eliminates the power that certain people in this country hold. It sorta removes the power elite from their pinnacle and integrates them into our society and regular members. That won't work.

See, this whole matrix that we're a part of is not reality. We fight amongst ourselves because THEY want us to fight amongst ourselves. As long as I'm screaming at you because you're a right wing jack wad and you're screaming at me because I'm some granola chewing dip shit, we don't stop and focus on who really has their boot on our throat. And as long as I'm focused on the poor chump next to me that's trying to get by just like me, THEY are free to pick my and your pocket.
THEy don't give a fuck about republicans and democrats, they just want it all. They don't want healthcare, it's too expensive and siphons money that THEY could be accumulating. THEY don't want us out of Iraq and Afghanistan. THEY are selling the gov't the goods and services they're using over there. Those 1.2 million dollar cruise missles are made by THEM. Those $30 million fighters are made by them. All the steel in the ships, all the meals eaten, all the plastic used to wrap it all is made by THEM mostly using slave labor in China.

See, it's all very complicated, but if you really think about it and follow the money, even you cn figure it all out and it becomes simple.
Try it.

Then try this, quit arguing over who is right and who is wrong, who is left and who is right. Take the conversation to a higher level. Discuss who is getting a fair shake and who isn't. Discuss what wages should be for a person working 40 hrs a week and two kids to feed. Discuss what it might take to provide healthcare for everyone and jobs that pay a living wage.
Discuss what the solution is to getting out of Iraq and Afghanistan.
DISCUSS SOLUTIONS!
Don't debate the causes of problems. That's what THEY want you to do. Fuck em up. Show them that you know the game they're playing and their time is coming.

You have throw a considerable load out here for those of us who only finished the 2nd grade. It may take a couple of days to make my point.

National dept:[1] Disagree, they earned the money in some manner and should be taxed no more. More money in their pockets more expanded business and jobs. Take it from the drug lords and give it to the people. Stop the war on drugs it has never worked and the money went down a rat hole. The same with the war on poverty. Dig up President Johnson and get all the money back. Some the churches have trillions and it should be used to help the poor.
National dept:[2] Agree completely. Use the military machine to protect this country and let the leeches, our allies and the French sink, swim or drown.
Health Care:[1] Disagree. Put a cap on healthcare cost and drugs.
Health Care :[2] agree completely. GOOD Health care should be provided to children and seniors free. THe middle class healthcare would be paid by for by the employer. PERIOD. Wouldn't matter if they work 1 hour or 40 a week. Which means you have to work or have a real disability. Shut down the welfare state we have and train those who can be trained to work and have some diginity. Otherwise go to work, real disability, starve or die. Thats likely 40% of our yearly national debt.
Jobs: Agree with it all hook, line and sinker. Also get rid of NAFTA and place a 5 mile wide DCMZ on the Mexican border. Anyone in the zone, your a duck, going either way. You want to get in this country go by the Statue of Liberty.
The "Equitable Distribution" of course I disagee with. Sounds to much like Socialism. Unions in this day and age need to go. They have bleed their members dry, work for themselves and have destroyed many businesses in this country. I'm sure John L Sullivan would disagree.
The powers that be are in fact controlling us and to get out from under them we would all have to work together as a people and a nation. Never happened in history so far.
Well I had the guts to give it a shot, unlike some.

I'm sick of the "they earned the money in some manner and should be taxed no more" bullshit. Any millionaire who bitches about paying taxes is a selfish cunt with no sense of social responsibility. Who's money? Do the ordinary people who make them rich by their labor or by buying their shitty products get no gratitude? Should there not be any kind of due-paying by rich people?

Mike said...

Uh, what Mr. Weaver said. This argument against progressive taxation because the rich "earned" their money is bullshit, simple and plain. Those who can afford to contribute more should contribute more. And that's especially true when rich A-holes are telling everyone the country is broke or near-broke. It isn't broke; it has lots of money, the vast majority of that money obscenely concentrated in a few personal fortunes.

Kudos to Warren Buffett and Stephen King for openly saying they *should* be taxed more.

Where are thew rest of your views on the blog post? Those who want to be socialist's should go somewhere else. I'm paying around 32% in taxes and most rich are paying close or over 50% now. Bill Gates gave 30 billion dollars to schools and charity last year in the US and around the world. Warren Buffet even more. Why should they pay more? To pay for the welfare state? Somebody has to work and we are running out of those people. They are hiring the seniors back who have retired because the young people just can't cut it. Lets do a reality check here.

Mike said...

Here's a reality check: Long-winded comments are boring.

Herbert Weaver said...

Rainywalker, how fucking dare you twist Gates' and Buffet's generosity into a cover for selfish assholes who'd rather the whole country went to hell than trouble them for a penny in taxes. Don't hold up their sense of social responsibility and understanding of the common good when you obviously have no grasp of either. (That much becomes obvious when my mentioning the word 'social' gets you ranting about 'social-ism' like some kind of idiot love child of Archie Bunker and Sarah Palin. Will my use of the term 'common good' have you ranting about 'communism' too?

Stimpson & Herbert,
It's unfortunate that as individuals we can not set down and disagree with each other without having a coronary. Unlike many in this country some of us do not have all the answers. This blog was about getting us back in the black in Washington and not about letting the freeloaders [slackers & splatters]and military go beyond bankrupting and destroy the country. Anyone who believes we can continue to give a blank check to social programs and the military does not understand our treasury is empty. These two programs are not hurting us, they are killing us. You have an opinion and so do I. Turning what this blog was about into smoke and mirrors is nothing more than playing into the hands of those that beat us all down. They want us as a people to remain sidetracked and not come together. Us coming together is their worst fear in Washington. Enough.

While I disagree with some of what Rainy has stated, I agree with him that we need to discuss these things in a civil manner. Like I said in my post, the real power elite in this country don't give a shit what you believe as long as you're fighting with the guy standing next to you and not focused on the real culprits with their boots on our throats.
Rainy is a reasonable guy. Please cut him some slack guys and remember, HE is not the one with his foot on your throat and I'm pretty sure he agrees with you and I about who is.

Herbert Weaver said...

I take the point about manners. But, while not being the guy with his foot on my throat, Rainywalker comes dangerously close to helping him put it there. I really can't respond politely to him comparing the generosity of billionaire "lefties" like Gates and Buffet with greedy RW assholes like the Kochs who contribute nothing to this country. Saying the rich shouldn't have to pay more because Gates and Buffet are taking up the slack with their charity donations is something that the guy with his foot on throat would love to hear!

Herbert Weaver said...

And, Rainywalker, you KNOW that higher taxes on business owners just make for creative ways of writing off money that would otherwise just go in the bank as profit. If you pay high taxes, you channel money into tax deductible charity donations, you employ more people and invest more in R&D, advertising, outside vendor stuff, etc., because it's all written off. That way, you get richer by working harder and doing some good for the country by giving people jobs and boosting the economy. If you pay less tax, you just shovel cash into your bank and sit on it. Maybe you might 'invest' in a Lamborghini or a bigger mansion but you sure as hell ain't gonna bother employing more people or do anything beneficial for anyone but yourself with your money. Why would you bother? The economy will stay fucked as long as taxes, particularly corporate taxes, are low because low taxes disincentivize growth.

To All:

The top 1% of Americans earned 7.5 percent of the income in 1979, the earliest date provided at the Congressional Budget Office. In 2005, that percentage was 15.6 percent. Currently the top 1% of Americans take home 24% of the income.

The top marginal tax rates, the progressive tax on the wealthy were at 90% throughout the 50s and into the 60s, which is obviously ridiculous. They have almost continually dropped until they reached 35% in 2003, where they stalled. The top marginal rate, the non capital gains tax on the wealthy, is lower than it has been since before the Great Depression, except for the early 90s when it very temporarily dropped below 35%.

The long term capital gains tax ceiling has dropped to historic lows. It now rests at 15%, the lowest it has been since the Great Depression. Since much of the primary income of the richest of Americans comes in the form of capital gains, this drops their effective tax rates on those proceeds to the tax bracket of those single filers who made less than 34,000.00 in 2010.

The short term capital gains ceiling is taxed at the income tax ceiling, which is now 35%, and lower than it has been since the 30’s, with one small, very temporary, blip in the early 90′s.

Additionally, Bill O’Reilly, nut that he is, informed all of American last night that GE paid 0.00 taxes last year on the 5 billion dollars in earnings it took in. He was trying to prove that since GE supported Obama, Obama gives tax breaks to corporations. He failed to mention the republican tax loopholes that allowed this to happen, or on whose watch they were created.

The deficit to national income ratio has a direct correlation with who is in the white house. When taxes on the rich are low, the deficit to income ratio is very high.

Disturbing Analysis of This

Corporations have bought too many politicians for their own good. When the American economy fails, the value of their assets plummets (see stock and futures markets). To solve the national financial problems we have, we need to do as the Hillbilly said and restore some of the taxes on the wealthy, close the loopholes, stop spending funds on wars, and start large social and infrastructural projects that create jobs by definition.

rainywalker said...

John I agree with your data. Perhaps I will do a blog which will tax the rich at 80%, etc., and see what happens. Thanks
