Democrats compromise when the republican are in control, they compromise when the republicans are NOt in control. Republicans NEVER compromise with democrats.
WTF?!
New reality: Obama, GOP talk compromise, conflict
AP –
A chastened President Barack Obama signaled a new willingness to yield to Republican demands on tax cuts and jettisoned a key energy priority on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after he and fellow Democrats absorbed election losses so severe he called them a shellacking.

I thought we were going to ditch that compromise game, as it served us none too well.....
sigh
Where is Harry Freaking Truman when we need him....
Maybe he has a cousin somewhere
I'd guess that most non-wingnuts who voted the Rethugs back in thought they'd somehow be forcing the two sides to work together by getting rid of the Dem majority. The public are spectacularly uninformed and a lot of people actually blame Obama equally for being intransigent and ideological over the past two years and shit not getting done.
So I'd also guess Obama's advisors are telling him to talk cooperation because it resonates well but they know that the next two years are gonna be a cage fight and it's just PR talk. I can't believe anyone could have lived thru the last couple of years and still think there's any chance of cooperating with the cuntservatives - especially fascist goons like Rand Paul who are gonna be in next year.
On the upside, I was very pleased Harry Reid stayed in. I think it's great that the crappy blue dog caucus has been halved. And, really, I can't wait to see Rand Paul get ripped to shreds in House debates. He seems to think he's oh-so clever and he's gonna impress everyone with his college-stoner pseudo-philosophical babble. They will hand him his smug, dumb ass!
I hope you're right Herb.
Actually, the news yesterday about tax cuts and global warming made me take that back. It looks like Obama's switched teams. WTF?
I know one thing, the President needs some new advisors. The GOP play hardball and will cheat in the blink of an eye.
