Calif. gray whale shot with machine gun
NEAH BAY, Wash. - An injured California gray whale was swimming out to sea Saturday after being shot with a machine gun off the western tip of Washington state, officials said.
Coast Guard Petty Officer Kelly Parker said five people believed to be members of the Makah Tribe shot and harpooned the whale Saturday morning. The extent of the whale's injuries were not immediately known.
OK, I'm all for Native American fishing and hunting rights. The dominant culture has an obligation to make sure that any aboriginal culture has 100% freedom to express themselves culturally, but come on, a machine gun? I suspect there are some tribal elders who are appalled. What a bunch of bozos. . . just goes to show, idiocy crosses all cultural lines.
Bush shows gift of gaffe at APEC summit

SYDNEY (Reuters) - Even for someone as gaffe-prone as U.S. President George W. Bush, he was in rare form on Friday, confusing APEC with OPEC and transforming Australian troops into Austrians.
. . .at a business forum on the eve of an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Sydney.[where they had to move people out of the balconies and down to the front rows so that the place didn't look empty to the TV cameras. . . yup, he didn't exactly draw thenm in in Sydney].
"Mr. Prime Minister, thank you for your introduction," he told Prime Minister John Howard. "Thank you for being such a fine host for the OPEC summit."
. . .Later in his speech, Bush recounted how Howard had gone to visit "Austrian troops" last year in Iraq.
. . .Upon finishing his speech, Bush took the wrong way off-stage and, looking slightly perplexed, had to be re-directed by Howard to a center-stage exit.
I was going to comment on each part of this astoundingly absurd report, but really, the only thing I feel like saying at this point is: "Will someone PLEASE make this outrageously idiotic moron shut the fuck up!" Normally I don't give a shit what other people think, but having Moron Monkey Boy displaying himself like this on the world stage is like having your mentally challenged sister standing on the corner by your house soliciting for 50 cent blow jobs.
Bin Laden branded `virtually impotent'

WASHINGTON - Seemingly taunting Osama bin Laden, President Bush's homeland security adviser said Sunday the fugitive al-Qaida leader is "virtually impotent" beyond his ability to hide away and spread anti-American propaganda.
Remember the black knight in the Monty Python movie who upon having his arms cut off commented "a mere flesh wound?" That is how absurd this skanky pile of pitiful propaganda sounds. Really, these Bush administration ministers of propaganda sound much more impotent than Bin Laden himself. Considering his resources and infrastructure, Bin Laden has been much more successful in attaining his goals than the Chimp Administration has been in theirs. The corpo-fascsit liars can't even get control of a third world country or capture a fugitive running freely around the hills of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Meanwhile Bin Laden turned this country upside-down, caused us to establish a culture of paranoia, put us into a horrible condition of national debt, caused the revocation of our constitutional rights, and generally terrorized the entire proletariat population of what was once the country with the most freedom and one of the highest standards of living iin the world.
Yea, he's "virtually impotent." Well, what is he "really." Meanwhile, the bottom feeding scum sucking Chimp Boys are destroying our country in their quest to empty the national treasury not only for today, but on into our grandchildren's generation.
Airline tells woman her outfit won't fly

SAN DIEGO - A 23-year-old woman who boarded a Southwest Airlines plane in a short skirt for a flight to Arizona says she was led off the plane for wearing an outfit that was considered too skimpy.

Thousands of GIs cope with brain damage

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The war in Iraq is not over, but one legacy is already here in this city and others across America: an epidemic of brain-damaged soldiers.
Thousands of troops have been diagnosed with traumatic brain injury, or TBI. These blast-caused head injuries are so different from the ones doctors are used to seeing from falls and car crashes that treating them is as much faith as it is science.
How Ironic that all these injuries were caused by a presidential administration with a puppet president in office who was brain damaged by years of chronic alcohol and cocaine abuse.
No, I really mean that. I've worked with hundreds of alcoholics and addicts in the past decade, and believe me, Moron Monkey Boy exhibits all the signs.
Gitmo panels struggle to assess facts
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - After years of indefinite confinement, many detainees at Guantanamo Bay say they feel they may never receive justice, according to transcripts of hearings obtained by The Associated Press. Fewer than one in five of detainees allowed a hearing last year even bothered to show up for it.

I've been working my hay fields the past couple days. For a farmer around here, this is a fairly intense and important time as our bread and butter depends upon getting in a good hay harvest which means getting it cut, cured and in the barn before it gets rained on. It requires an immense amount of hard physical labor and usually involves a lot of mechanical work on complex machinery (ever see the inside of a hay baler?). Today, three of my neighbors spent the whole day helping me get about 10 acres of hay baled, loaded and stacked in the barn.
We enjoy being good neighbors to each other. It feels good on both sides.
