Study sees rise in men not washing hands
By MARILYNN MARCHIONE, AP Medical Writer

CHICAGO - The gender gap has widened when it comes to hygiene, according to the latest stakeout by the "hand washing police." One-third of men didn't bother to wash after using the bathroom, compared with 12 percent of women, said the researchers who spy on people in public restrooms. They reported their latest findings Monday at a meeting of infectious disease scientists.

So about 22% of American are disgusting filthy pigs who don't wash their hands after using a bathroom. With the gumping of America proceeding at a very strong pace, is it any surprise? This is simply a subtle social symptom of America slowly becoming a third world nation. How long can it be before diseases brought on by poor sanitary habits begin to creep into our society? Next time some lug nut wants to shake your hand, remember, 1 of 3 men don't wash their hands after pissing.

New Yorker pushes limits of the "locavore" life
By Timothy Gardner
Sun Sep 16, 10:51 AM ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) - . . . Freelance food writer Howard knew about "locavores" -- people who try to eat only locally produced food. But seeing one locavore at a market squint at a map while asking a pig farmer where exactly he lived in New York state, gave Howard the idea to try out life as an extreme locavore -- in the biggest U.S. city.
the 800-square-foot (74-square-meter) backyard and garage to his Brooklyn, New York, house.
He soon learned it was hard work -- seven days a week, six to 16 hours a day. . .

Ok, this is the first spot where I go WTF?! I've got 100 acres and it doesn't forcee me to work that hard.
. . . some of the rabbits died from maggot infestations.
"I was not so much a farmer ... as an undertaker,"

Again, WTF?! How in the fuck do rabbits become "maggot infest[ed]?" Sounds like a dirty filthy operation to me. How were those 6-16 hours a day 7 days a week spent?
. . . he suffered hardships. Howard nearly sawed off a finger building the chicken coop and went without alcohol because making a home distillery was too much work.
That only proves he's a stupid alcoholic.
In the month of reaping what he sowed, he lost 29 pounds, both from the work and sparse meals, mostly eggs, tomatoes, greens, and chicken stew.
WHAT? Working THAT hard, raising rabbits, chickens and ducks and you're starving? Yup, stupid.
Financially the farm was perhaps unsustainable. The costs rose to $11,000 -- or more than $120 per meal for the month.
$11,000!?!?! WTF?!?!?! I know people who could farm for years on that kind of money. Hell, I don't have that much in expenses in a year on my 100 acre poultry ranch.
But now his family has a greater appreciation for the business of food and the people who grow it,
I'd say they should also have a greater appreciation for what a moron this guy is. How inept do you have to be to pull this off. . . and then have the gall to publish such pitiful exploits? And then they might wonder why everyone else in the country assumes NYers are bozos. . . but they don't because they're too consumed with themselves.

Bush calls for expansion of spy law
AP - 1 hour, 2 minutes ago
FORT MEADE, Md. - President Bush said Wednesday he wants Congress to expand and make permanent a law that temporarily gives the government more power to eavesdrop without warrants on suspected foreign terrorists.

Oh here's a good idea! More invasion and violent acts upon the Constitution of the United States! Let's see if the congress will continue to drop to their knees and take it in the face from the corpo-fascist traitors.

Recently I heard that snide little twit Bill Maher (the right has Denis Miller, the left has Bill Maher) on his HBO show urging women to not expose themselves while breast feeding their children and then he unbelievably went on to compare breast feeding to masturbation. WTF?!
How fucked up, Victorian and prudish is that? Obviously this is a person who has no kids and never was involved in a program of raising a child that included breast feeding. I find such comparisons and views repulsive and nothing but childish . . . oppressed childishness.
I agree with almost everything this little impotent wise-ass punk says, but on the idea that women who are feeding their baby need to treat it as if they are masturbating?. . . grow up you little dip shit.

At what point did condescending, expletive-laced rants replace intelligent political and social commentary in this country? That's the problem with the internet: it gives every opinionated, misinformed, two-dimensional loudmouth--who arrogantly believes s/he's smarter than everyone else--a platform to spew ignorant tripe into the ether.

I didn't know "condescending, expletive-laced rants" replaced "intelligent political and social commentary." Maybe you need to broaden the media to which you subscribe.
Yea, the internet would be a "problem" for a right wing neocon corpo-fascist prole who thinks the words of his patriarchal icons should be the only "spew[ed] ignorant tripe" anywhere.
Try reading the Constitution of the United States you maid-rite eating, flatlander, midwestern slack jawed rube.

What has the Constitution to do with anything I typed? I've read it, but more importantly, I understand it. That's better than I can say for you slavering, doom-and-gloom, elitist, left-wing, backwoods, stumpwater buffoons. I didn't say I opposed your *right* to spew condescending, expletive-laced, loud-mouthed, misinformed tripe, I just lament your desire and ability to do so.

I'm not exactly a neocon (you do know what that actually means?). I am, and have always been, a traditional conservative/libertarian with no desire for social engineering and no love for the Christian Right. My views are much more introspective and self-delineated, or I'd scream the same type of mindless, partisan, dogmatic regurgitations you do.

SagaciousHillbilly said...

That's good for you, you heartless heartlander. You be just as "self-delineated" and "introspective" as you'd like. I'm sure it fits your bland white bread persona and cultural heritage.

Meanwhile, I think I'll raise a little tripe and regurgitate some hell. Lament my abilities all you want.

Oh, and you might read on and note that my partisanship is severely limitted.

Hope all is well out there in the Jesus Land clone states.

The Practical Pundit said...

You think your partisanship is extremely limited? What a laugh. You love to throw the term "prole" around as if you're not one. Then again, maybe you're not. "Lemming" would be a more accurate characterization. Just because you don't recognize you're a tool, doesn't mean they don't have a hold of you.

Lament my abilities all you want.

You misunderstood, I don't lament your personal abilities. I'm not certain you have any. I only lament the ability of the Internet to extend the reach of your banal, pedestrian commentary.

All is well out here in the Bible Belt (though I don't personally wear one). Hope things are a'right on the hundred acres.

OK pretty boy, I'll let you have the last word. Now either comment on the content of the commentary you read here or STFU.
This is MY blog and I decide who lives and dies here.

In the meantime... Do you wonder if there's a common set of assumptions involved in both (1) men not washing their hands after they use the bathroom, and (2) an allegedly left-leaning man equating breastfeeding with masturbation?

salamismile,
I don't know. Do you?
Other than both sets being morons?
