Sagacious One: You might like the Sarah Silverman clip at my blog and the Rude Pundit's today. I know not everyone likes Silverman, but personally I *love* her. :)
Yea, that's funny Stimpson, but the humor aspect of a whole lotta things is beginning to wear thin. Is it funny that we have spent many hundreds of billions and possibly trillions in Iraq to line the pockets of the corporate royalists? Is it funny that Amurkkka's racist bigotry is possibly going to sabatoge the best chance we've had in a looooong time and probably the last in my lifetime to put this country back on an even keel? IF Obama loses in the fall I am going to strongly recommend that my children get the fuck out of this shit hole we call a free nation. It just aint worth it anymore.
BTW: I like it up there in Canada. . . .too bad about the winters.
I know what you mean, SH. But I find that humour/comedy keeps me sane. Or at least it keeps my anger at injustices and arrogance and elites' indifference from boiling over. Also, comedy can be like a spoonful of sugar to get the medicine into some people. They see the Silverman video and think about something they never gave a thought to before. And yeah, too bad about the winters. I grew up here and I'm still not the least bit fond of them. Oh well. The sun is traitor cold, as Joni Mitchell sang (r something like that). I'll just have to deal with another cold fall and bitter winter.
Looks like one guy got so excited he pissed himself. The elections are starting to make me sick. Some days you just want to choke someone. I remember when Christmas only lasted a week, those were fun times.
I been to college and it aint hurt me none. I even got me a degree or two. I've been a scientist, a cook, a carpenter a farmer an environmental activist and had a couple other useless pursuits. My wife calls me a "jack of all trades and master of none." [Correction: She now says I am a "starter of much and finisher of nothing"] Yes, I have a wife, but she doesn't bother me much and I don't bother her much. We get along just fine. . . an she aint my sister or cousin!
I don't complain much or tolerate whiners.
My goal in life: Have fun. Hope you do the same.
