Make no mistake, Joe Manchin, the dumb bubba from Marion County is a silver spooned right wing prick. Another unaccomplished bozo with family money who bought his way into politics, he has voted with the republicans all the way so far.
Here are the three most important votes the US Senate has had in the past few weeks.
1. A bill to extend the tax breaks to only those making $250,000 or less. That means the middle and working class maintain their tax breaks, but the rich go back to the low rate they were paying before 2004. Now really, wouldn't any democrat with even slightly progressive tendencies believe that in todays economy the super rich really ought to pay a little extra to help everything along? Right now we are at the lowest tax rate we've had in over 60 years. You'd have to go all the way back to before Eisenhower to find a lower tax rate. So why not get those who have much to pay a little more thn those who are struggling badly?
Not Joe Manchin. . . he voted against it. He wants the rich to keep getting richer and the poor to keep getting poorer.
Over and over it has been proven that tax breaks, tax incentives, etc DO NOT stimulate the economy. Think about it: what has happened to American jobs since Reagan started slahing taxes on the rich and corporations. What has happened to jobs since Bush the MoronMonkeyBoy slashed taxes for the rich to the lowest levels since 1958? We have lost entire secotrs of jobs. The middle class has been all but destroyed and our standard of living has declined. THAT is what tax breaks for the rich has gotten us. Has the market stabilized since Bush the Chimp handed out golden tax packages to his uber rich supporters? Nope, it crashed and many Americans lost their retirement funds after being talked into investing in the market back in the 90s and 00s.
Guess who got the money they lost. Yup, the super rich.
So FUCK YOU Joe Manchin for voting to continue ultra rich tax breaks. You are a little dick headed rich prick.
2.DREAM Act. This act is intended to give kids who grew up in the United states and graduated from college or successfully served in the United States military the honor of becoming United States citizens no matter how they got here. These are kids whose parents made the difficult decision to illegally enter this country so that they could provide for their children better than where they came from. This isn't a blanket amnesty policy like the right wing propaganda machine wants you to believe. This is for young men and women who grew up as Americans. Young men and women who know no other culture. They talk like Americans, act like Americans, they ARE American as my kids. So this DREAM act allows them to become citizens if they have clean records, serve in the military or graduate from college. WTF? Who can argue with that.
Well, a bunch of pricks in the United State Senate and our own freshman rigt wing jizz guzzling senator Joe Manchin. Oh, he didn't vote against it, he just didn't vote at all, which, in a vote against it. What a pussy footed prick. Three weeks in the senate and he's already not voting for political purposes. What kind of respect is that for those who elected him. . . to not vote on such an important issue. It just shows what a dirt bag politicians this little rich prick really is.
3.Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) Well, surely Joe the Creep Manchin voted on this one, right? Nope. In true panty waisted fashion which he so gracefully pursues, once again he passed on this one. Of course, for this one also, to not vote is to vote against.
Even though every study has shown that gays in the military is not a problem, our right wing homophobic dip shit of a senator voted against it, by not voting. He stepped up to the plate and told millions of young Americans that he thinks they are less than other young Americans just because they were born with a different sexual preference.
Ya know come to think of it, Bubba Joe does have certain effeminate qualities in many of his mannerisms. Maybe this is a vote of self loathing. I'm just thinking it's possible. . . not a sure thing, just possible.
This is the one that really burns my ass almost more than his DREAM non-vote and for the same reason.
See, I don't think children should ever be treated with prejudice, bigotry, scorn, etc. Every child, no matter their color, rce, ethnicity, sexual preference, religion, handicap, etc. should be given fair shake and treated just like any other child. Maybe it's because I love my chidren so much that I feel this way.
Scumbag Joe Manchin probably doesn't love his children very much. Let's face it, at least one of his children is a fraud and a liar just like he is, so what do I expect?. . . Yea, I'm talking about Heather Manchin, who somehow, with no experience got the COO position at a WV pharmacutical company and then received an EMBA degree from WVU without completing many of the requirements of the program after Gov. Daddy appointed one of his best buddies, another fat ass moron with no real qualifications, to be president of WVU. It all came out in the news and Sweet little lying asshole Heather lost her EMBA.
Are you a little nervous sitting up there all high and mighty in your senate seat Bubba Joe? You ought to be, because the FBI isn't done investigating your crooked ass. Your chief of staff and your road to nowhere up in Fairmont is attracting a lot of attention right now in certain federal offices.
Enjoy your senate experience while you can dip shit, cause just like Uncle Douche Bag A. James, you've about played out your hand. Many of us won't be sorry to see your crooked dirty punk ass behind bars.
I'm also wondering, do they sell a lot of those callus polishing machines and tools in WV drug stores? I'm thinking with all the knuckle dragging Neanderthals running around the state that there must be a big problem with calluses on the backs of hands that require tratment

Do you know where your food comes from?
As most of my loyal readers know (all 2 of you), I am a big advocate of knowing where your food comes from. Submitted for your consideration:

Undercover investigation of Smithfield Foods reveals factory farm horrors
By Brett Michael Dykes
If you enjoy eating pork occasionally, you might not want to read any further. But you probably should -- especially as America waits to learn the fate of the almost universally hailed food-safety bill, which suddenly faces hurdles in Congress.
This week the Humane Society released the results of its undercover investigation of a Virginia pig farm that's owned by Smithfield Foods, the largest pork producer in the world. A Humane Society investigator spent a month inside the Waverly, Va., facility, armed with a hidden camera. Among the more disturbing findings was this:
Female breeding pigs were crammed inside "gestation crates" so small the animals could barely move for virtually their entire lives. The animals engaged in stereotypic behaviors such as biting the bars of crates, indicating poor well-being in the extreme confinement conditions. Some had bitten their bars so incessantly that blood from their mouths coated the fronts of their crates. The breeding pigs also suffered injuries from sharp crate protrusions and open pressure sores that developed from their unyielding confinement.
The pork industry is no better than any other meat factory industry and maybe worse since hogs seem to have a level of intelligence and cognizance beyond that of chickens or even cattle. Sadly they are treated like insects or bacteria. They are raised in horribly confined spaces. Unlike chickens, there is no movement to give them "free range" or "uncaged" lives (both of which are a farse, btw).
So please, if you can, know where your food comes from and the conditions under which it is raised. I know, at this point that is the pursuit of those who can afford to be discriminatory in their food selections. Hopefully that will cange in the near future.
Thanks,

Giving it all away!
Once again the democrats cave into the demands of the republicans. Let's face it folks, they talk like progrssives concerned about the common good of the nation. They speak of making things fair nd balanced in our country and defending the real people, but when it comes right down to it, they are always willing to give the right wing corpo-fascists exactly what they want. Then they sit back while the right wingers talk about them like dogs.
THERE IS NO ONE ON OUR SIDE IN WASHINGTON! NO ONE!
They are ALL for the rich and none for the working class and poor.
Fuck you and your "spirit of compromise" Obama. I fucking sick and tired of this bullshit and the lies you told us in 2008. I'm even more pissed that I worked so fucking hard and especially that people near and dear to me basically dedicated 8 months of their life to your campaign only to be fucked in the ass by you.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama signed into law a huge, holiday-season tax bill extending cuts for all Americans on Friday, saluting a new spirit of political compromise as Republicans applauded and liberals seethed. The benefits range from tax cuts for millionaires and the middle class to longer help for the jobless.

James Carville: FOUND!
In our continuing coverage of James Carville it has been noted that his presence has been conspicuously absent on the TV screen these days.
Well, he has been found. Not in a TV studio with a waste basket over his head or sleeping in the abandoned back room of the old Hillary for President national headquarters. Nope, Jimmy the geek was found down home in Louisiana bout a mile from nowhere stalking the night looking for the ghost of elections past.
But let's let WTDN in Baton Rouge, Louisiana give us the whole story. . .

BERWICK, Louisiana (WVLA) - A deer hunter captures a spooky image wandering through the Louisiana woods at night.
A hunter near Baton Rouge says he found this freaky photo on his deer stand camera.
The hunting camera was broken but the memory card was still there and so was this bizarre image.
It looks like a cross between a human and an animal, with long slender appendages and glowing eyes.
The hunter says he just hopes it's a vegetarian, if he runs into it in the woods again.
More on this story from WVLA in Baton Rouge, LA
And here he is folks, the elusive, caught on camera, swamp thing from Louisiana, JAMES CARVILLE!

Senate blocks repeal of 'don't ask, don't tell'
AP – 1 hr 46 mins ago
WASHINGTON – Senate Republicans blocked a major year-end push by Democrats to lift the military's ban on openly gay troops on Thursday, dealing a huge blow to gay rights groups' hopes for repeal of "don't ask, don't tell" any time soon. President Barack Obama instantly appealed to lawmakers to make another, last-ditch try before going home for the year.
OK, this is personal and it's starting to feel really personal.
My daughter, like all my children is the joy of my life. I would do anything for her and sacrifice my life without thinking, for her. . . as I would for any of my children. That's just the way I am and I've proven all that to be true at various times and in various situations in my life.
Now I have to sit here and be still while the right wing members of the United States Senate tell me and her that she is not good enough to be in the United States military because of who she is and what she is by birth.
My beautiful daughter was raised very much like all my other children. The cool thing about her is that she, as the youngest is the most well adjusted, happiest and has the best self esteem of all of them. She is as well rounded and talented as any of my children which makes her very well rounded and talented.
She's one of the best shots I know with a rifle and is a very respectable shot with a compound bow. She loves to hunt and fish and hang out in the woods and around the farm. When she walks around out here she is like a cat attentive and aware of every sight and sound. I don't know a better stalker.
But the senate republicans are telling me and her that she's not good enough to be in the military as she is.
It's starting to feel really personal.
You're telling me and my child she's not good enough to do whatever she's perfectly capable of doing?
Are these the same fucking pricks who talk about "family values?" Are these the same recreant sons of bitches who pretend to defend and be concerned with what happens to children?
Listen up you right wing pieces of garbage, you're fucking with MY kid. You're doing things that could damage My kid's self esteem and belief in herself.
It probably won't, but it could and it WILL effect thousands of kids across the country.
I'm tired of the anti-American, unpatriotic, unintellectual, unethical and immoral right wing agenda in this country. This is no longer the country I grew up believing in. It has become a farse. I'm just not sure it's worth caring about anymore.
And the biggest piece of shit mother fucker is. . . .
our very own freshman senator from WV!
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin was the lone Democrat to vote Thursday against advancing a repeal of the military's ban on openly gay service members.
In a 57-40 vote, the Senate failed to get the 60 votes needed on a key procedural move to start debate on overturning the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.
The vote went largely along party lines.
Reversing the 1993 policy now looks unlikely to happen any time soon, although supporters vowed to try again before year's end.
This is exactly why I never felt so dirty voting for someone as I did when I voted for this scumbag.

Never did I support a presidential candidate the way I supported Barack Obama.
Never have I been so angry at a democrat in the White House in my entire life. . . or any other president.
I fear all is lost, and I've always had hope and faith in the future of our country.

Republicans achieve top goal in Obama tax-cut plan
By CHARLES BABINGTON, Associated Press –
WASHINGTON – Republicans control neither the House nor the Senate — and certainly not the White House. But they largely dictated the terms of President Barack Obama's proposed tax-cut compromise, which disgruntled congressional Democrats want to discuss in closed meetings that are likely to be rowdy.
Republicans prevailed on their biggest demand: continuing Bush administration tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, despite Obama's 2008 campaign promise to let them expire for households earning more than $250,000 a year. Obama, while acknowledging Democratic unrest, agreed to extend the tax breaks for two years, whereas Republicans wanted a permanent extension.
Here again we have the corpo-fascists dictating terms even though they are not in charge. THEY are the ones getting exactly what they want. THEY are the ones telling the majority how it's going to be. Can the democrats be anything but co-conspirators?
I never thought you would stoop this low Mr. President. I have believed in you since I heard you speak when you won Iowa. I thought you had a master plan for change and making things more equal in America. unfortunately I was wrong. you are just another political lackey who is giving it all up to the corpo-fascists who obviously control you and everyone else.
You're no Kennedy or Lincoln, you're just another paid off prick who's selling this country down the road and helping to destroy the middle class.
Hold on to your ass folks. After the new year, the republicans are going to control the house. They are going to act like kids in a free candy store. With the democrats letting them do whatever they want and them wanting to bend the democrats over and stick it in them deep every day, it's going to be one big love fest on capital hill. Obama will let them do whatever they want as he whispers sweet nothings into your ear.
The people will continue to bleed and the republicans will continue to extract more blood.
Our country is gone. It's only a matter of time before we are living in a totally feudal society.

GOP, Dems nearing deal on taxes, jobless benefits
By JIM KUHNHENN, Associated Press – 1 hr 52 mins ago
WASHINGTON – An outline of a bipartisan economic package is emerging that would temporarily extend the Bush-era tax rates for all taxpayers, while extending jobless benefits for millions of Americans.
This is insane. Maybe it's true that dems are just as corporate oriented as the repubs; they are just as manipulated but perceived differently. Maybe the power mongers and resource hoarders are just as involved in the manipulation of the left as they are of those on the right.
Why else would the dems be so impotent? Why else would they not be getting on the bully pulpit and demanding, in front of the American people, that this issue be resolved in a manner that taxes the rich fairly and provides for the unemployed and the middle class that has been devastated.
Look around you!! What happened to the middle class and all those manufacturing jobs? Does no one care or notice? Is it because they were so working class oriented?
Come on don't let it be true. I'm begging the democratic leadership to stand up and deliver us a real package that taxes the upper 1% fairly and extends unemployment benefits to those who really need them.
Ask yourself; why did the republicans get everything they wanted while the dems seem to continually come up empty?
Are they spineless or co-conspirators?

Empowering the overlords
So we raise the retirement age and cut deductions for healthcare.
Meanwhile, the tax rate on everyone including the rich is lower than it's been since 1950. Yes, 1950, before we had medicaid/medicare, WIC, a space program, and hundreds of other programs that make us a modern society. These are things that over the years, the people decided we needed in order to push back the frontiers of social justice and science.
So now, in the 21st Century, who has decided that we need to go backwards? Who has decided that we need to let the rich get away with accumulating all our national resources in their pockets?
I'm not sure the answer to that question, but I do know that it's the American people who keep going along with this bullshit charade.
So when your healthcare sucks, as wages continue to drop, as jobs disappear, as more and more people have less and less, remember what YOU voted for. Remember who these dirty little prick fucks are who are advocating the redistribution of wealth in this country in an upward spiral.
My country and it's people are beginning to make me very sad. That so many people can vote AGAINST the common good and FOR the ultra-rich overlords leads me to believe we have become a country of very ignorant and very stupid proles.
Deficit-cutting plan wins more support before vote
AP –
By ANDREW TAYLOR, Associated Pres
WASHINGTON – Defying expectations, a bipartisan majority of President Barack Obama's deficit commission has rallied behind the panel's controversial deficit-slashing proposals.
A key Obama ally, liberal Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, endorsed the plan Thursday night, joining two of the Senate's most conservative Republicans.
The plan now has public commitments of support from a majority of the 18-member commission, but it still will fall short of the 14 votes needed to officially adopt it when the deficit-cutting panel votes on Friday.
Among its many contentious provisions, the plan would raise the Social Security retirement age and scale back popular tax deductions on health insurance and mortgage interest.

Repealing "don't ask, don't tell."
It's the 21st Century. Let's get real here folks.
The Pentagon has issued a report that says the troops won't mind if gays serve in the military openly and the leaders of the military won't mind. The report says gays ought to be able to serve in the military openly.
Admiral Mike Mullens, who as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, is the highest ranking military officer in the nations says we need to repeal it and let gays serve in the military openly.
Sec. of Defense Robert Gates says the time is now and let's do it before the courts force us to do it.
So what will the tea baggers in congress do? Sen. John McCain believes that DaDT is working and we should leave it alone. Many of the republicans in congress have come out strongly against any "gay rights."
Yes folks, bigotry and hate are still alive and well in Amurkkka. Those on the right prove it on a daily basis.
I am so sick of people of any persuasion, color, religion, beliefs, handicap, etc. being forced to defend themselves. It's just so fucking primitive. It's so damned ignorant and backwoods.
Those in congress who have any bit of human decency should make this happen and make it happen NOW! It will be a precedent for our entire society. It will be something as fair and just as the Civil Rights Act. It will change people's perceptions of others making them more accepting and in turn better human beings. And most important, it will change many young people's perceptions of themselves and give them a higher degree of self esteem and ability to grow and develop. Who doesn't want that? Look around the republican side of the aisle to get the answer to that question.
Let's see those in congress who DO have integrity and human decency push this through ASAP.
It's that simple.

TSA . . . where will they stop?
John Pisstole, TSA Administrator, is a fucking liar. This is not about making sure those who are not suspected terrorists can fly without a hitch, it's about having more and more information on all Americans. It's about prying into the lives of EVERYONE. You see, the federal gov't now has a database that they can search any time for anyone and find out when and where you have traveled by commercial air carrier.
Oh sure, it's not going to effect me. I'm not terrorist nor do I do anything illegal in my life, but listen up folks, the Constitution wasn't written so that those of us who are law bidding citizens should give up our rights to catch some criminal.
Look you dumb fuck proles, you are giving up the rights that our founding fathers believed we HAD to have in order to live free just because the gov't says you have to in order to be safe and you're swallowing it hook line and sinker.
I mourn for this country.
TSA says airlines providing more passenger data
AP –
By Jeremy Pelofsky – Tue Nov 30, 4:15 pm ET
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – All airline passengers on flights to, from and within the United States are being checked against U.S. government security watchlists, the Transportation Security Administration said Tuesday.
TSA said that all of the nearly 130 international carriers flying to and from the United States have begun collecting new data from passengers, including their full name, date of birth and gender, which are then checked against the lists, a program known as Secure Flight.
All domestic carriers began collecting that data in June.
"Secure Flight more effectively helps prevent misidentification of passengers who have similar names to those on the watchlists and then obviously helps better identify those who may be a known or suspected threat to aviation," TSA Administrator John Pistole told reporters.
The information is passed along for checks against the watchlists as soon as the data is received by the airline, he said. The checks were recommended by the 9/11 Commission that examined the 2001 attacks on the United States.
TSA hopes the program will help reduce complaints by passengers who have tried, but failed, to clear their names from databases.

Ignorance on steroids; Creationists and Governors
Here's another reason why it's always dumber in Appalachia.
Will somebody please tell these people that they are living in the 21st Century.
Yes folks, this is the governor of one of the United States of America (granted, it is Kentucky) in the year 2010 in on this fiasco.
Beshear to announce creationist theme park for Kentucky

Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear [yes, he is a real governor of a real state in the United States of America] and Answers in Genesis, builders of the Creation Museum in Petersburg, will unveil plans for a new Northern Kentucky attraction Wednesday in Frankfort.
The theme park, to be called Ark Encounter, will be located in Grant County, Ky., near the Veteran’s Cemetery.
The attraction is envisioned as a full-scale wooden ark that would include associated museums, theaters, amenities, event venues and outdoor parking.

21st Century Amurkkka
Edmund Morris, who has written three books on Theodore Roosevelt and one on Reagan had this to say about Americans and his interviewer, Bob Schieffer on "Face the Nation."
According to Politico:
Asked during a roundtable discussion what Teddy Roosevelt would think of today’s politics, Morris responded, “You keep asking these presentist questions. As the immortal Marisa Tomei said in My Cousin Vinny, ‘That’s a f***ed up question!’”. . . “you cannot pluck people out of the past and expect them to comment on what’s happening today,”
He then criticized the American people, who “are insensitive to foreign sensibilities, who are lazy, obese, complacent, and increasingly perplexed as to why we are losing our place in the world to people who are more dynamic than us and more disciplined.”
While I wouldn't waste my time reading a book about a traitor like Reagan or a prick like Roosevelt, I do totally agree with his assessment of the American people. Let's repeat it, shall we?
"lazy, obese, complacent, and increasingly perplexed as to why we are losing our place in the world to people who are more dynamic than us and more disciplined.”
In other words, you're a bunch of dumb fuck ignorant, dim witted fat assed proles. THAT is why America is crumbling.

Mindless liberals; same a mindless tea baggers?

Should Terry Gross Go The Way of Juan Williams?
Let's begin with the premise that no people, culture, religious, racial or ethnic group is by definition immoral. Not acknowledging this, at the core, is the problem with Juan Williams' gross generalization about Muslims that recently got him fired from National Public Radio (NPR). But if NPR's "Fresh Air" interview last week with the rapper Jay-Z about his new book Decoded is any indication, it's a message still lost on Terry Gross.. . .
Throughout her interview with Jay-Z, Gross kept returning the discussion to those places that reinforce the idea of Black culture as immoral and Black people as corrupt and/or corruptible. Such anti-Black arguments that once lived primarily in conservative public policy debates have now worked their way into national culture (especially in film, television, news media and politics) to the degree that these views are now widely accepted as the norm.
Argh!!! It's such a bitch for me to hear these white liberal granola chewers drone on and on in their nonthinking manner.
These granola chewing wite liberals are the same as the tobacco chewing white conservatives in one way; they have definite ideas that they believe to be absolutely correct and they never question the validity of those ideas.
We all grow up with prejudices. We are biased toward one thing or another on almost all levels.
Intellectual people who really try to see the reality of the world are constantly checking their beliefs against what they truly observe. There is a constant tweeking of their consciousness and conscience.
Know-it-all white people do not do this with any constancy. They have their beliefs, they can not deal with being wrong so they question nothing within themselves. Oh sure, sometimes they put on a front of humility for theater sake when they get backed against a wall, but that's the extent of it.
Are you checking and double checking what you believe against what you observe in reality?
Are you clinging to old ideas and picking and choosing the things you observe to force fit it to what you believe?
See, a good social mind is like science. You can't come up with an idea and force fit the facts to validate your lame idea. You have to get the facts and form your ideas around them while constantly questioning and double checking reality.
That's probably the real difference between mindless proles and people who think. That's the real reason why the main stream media villianizes intellectualism. Intellectuals think and evolve. Mindless proles just believe what they hear.

Thanksgiving Message
Hello my friends.
Here in America it's Thanksgiving. It's a time for families to gather, be grateful for their fortune, however large or small it may be, and feast. We should enjoy our family and celebrate our personal triumphs and tragedies.
It should also be a time to reflect upon what has happened between today and when people from Europe first set foot upon this great land. If you are of European descent, it's not YOUR fault that our ancestors raped, pillaged, stole and committed genocide against the native population, but it is your responsibility to recognize and be aware of what transpired before we came to be here. In that awareness, perhaps we can recognize the ongoing oppression perpetrated by those who find themselves in positions of authority and rule. We can recognize and speak out against the third world conditions to which many Native American people have been relegated.
Sometimes, it only takes one person to speak up and voice concern when injustice occurs. A single voice raised with or against another single voice can sometimes make a difference. If we are grateful for what we have, and humbly accept our good fortune, we can also be a voice for reason and justice.
So be happy on this day of thanks and celebrate family, friends and good fortune, but never ever forget the past, for those who do, are doomed to repeat it with all its horrors.
Bedagi (Big Thunder) late 19th century.
Wabanaki Algonquin writer
Give us hearts to understand;
Never to take from creation's beauty more than we give;
never to destroy wantonly for the furtherance of greed;
Never to deny to give our hands for the building of earth's beauty;
never to take from her what we cannot use.
Give us hearts to understand
That to destroy earth's music is to create confusion;
that to wreck her appearance is to blind us to beauty;
That to callously pollute her fragrance is to make a house of stench;
that as we care for her she will care for us.
We have forgotten who we are.
We have sought only our own security.
We have exploited simply for our own ends.
We have distorted our knowledge.
We have abused our power.
Great Spirit, whose dry lands thirst,
Help us to find the way to refresh your lands.
Great Spirit, whose waters are choked with debris and pollution,
help us to find the way to cleanse your waters.
Great Spirit, whose beautiful earth grows ugly with misuse,
help us to find the way to restore beauty to your handiwork.
Great Spirit, whose creatures are being destroyed, help us to find a way to replenish them.
Great Spirit, whose gifts to us are being lost in selfishness and corruption,
help us to find the way to restore our humanity.
Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the wind, whose breath gives life to the world,
hear me; I need your strength and wisdom. May I walk in Beauty.

HughesNet SUCKS!
If I had any alternative whatsoever I'd dump this pile of shit in a NY minute. We have analog phone lines out here that always have static on the lines and WildBlue tells me there are no slot available in my area. Cable is years and years away from ever being brought out to this far corner of Appalachia.
HughesNet makes all sorts of claims in their advertisements. Then they offer you options as far as download and upload speeds. I was dumb enough to get the fast expensive plan. Here's the reality. . . It's only slightly faster than dial-up. This IS NOT HIGH SPEED INTERNET. It's fucking creepy crawling internet.
So when you see their ads for "fast high speed service" and making claims that us rural folks can also have high speed internet, it's ALL BULLSHIT because it's actually slow like dial-up even with the upgrade in speed.
HughesNet SUCKS.

More defective and poison Chinese products reflect America's failure
You'd think there would be a public outcry over all the lead tainted and otherwise defective products we keep getting from China. but no, people just keep buying tons and tons of useless crap from the local WalMart without the least bit of knowledge of where the useless crap came from and how it might be made or disposed of once they tire of it. Americans are just plain stupid, ignorant and disconnected from reality.
We just don't seem capable of pulling it all together.
We've had great technological achievements, made great advances in social justice, at time led the way into environmental awareness, and elected great leaders, but when it comes down to really developing an entire society that embraces all these wonderful things, we just can't seem to do it.
Probe is sought of lead in reusable grocery bags

ALBANY, N.Y. – Sen. Charles Schumer of New York is seeking a federal investigation after a newspaper's report of lead content in some reusable grocery bags.
The Democrat told The Associated Press that many of the reusable grocery bags sold nationwide are manufactured in China. Schumer plans to announce Sunday that he is contacting the Food and Drug Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Sky pixies vs. modern medicine
So I know this guy who had a really bad heart attack recently. Like most heart attack victims, he almost checked out. Luckily, he was close to a really good hospital that did all the things that really good hospitals do to get a heart back up and pumping well. Also luckily, he didn't go into full cardiac arrest. % minutes farther from the hospital or doctors who waited 5 minutes longer and they'd have been pulling the sheet over his head. He was circling the drain fast.
So now, after taking all sorts of wonder drugs and five hours of intricate surgery performed by some of the most gifted medical providers on the planet, he is in a good state of recovery. Who knows how long it will last, but they seem to have opened up his veins and his heart is in fairly good shape.
After all this, all he seems able to do is thank his "god":for taking such good care of him. "I have only my lord and savior to thank for my recovery."
Excuse me bozo, but how about those doctors and the wonders of modern medicine? Twenty years ago you'd have been pushing up daisys and your family would be getting on with their lives without your sorry fat ass. Where was your "lord and savior" when my dad died of an aortic aneurism twenty years ago? Today they'd have whipped him into an operating room, wrapped a piece of cheese cloth around that sucker and he'd have been good to go for another 20. I guess your dear lord and savior didn't know about that kind of shit back then huh?
Why don't you get on your fucking knees next time you go to your doctor's office and thank the medical providers for what they did. How about spending five minutes thinking about the wonders of modern science that let them open up your sorry fat chest, manipulate the tiny veins that supply blood to your heart and get it all working again. Spend half a minute being grateful for modern pharmacology that was able to loosen up those clots and restore blood to your pitiful ungrateful heart muscle preventing radical damage of it's cardiac capability.
Then if you really must talk to your imaginary friend the sky pixie, why don't you ask him why the fuck you developed the heart disease in the first place. After all, if he's responsible for your recovery, who's responsible for your demise? If you think about it long enough, you will realize that you developed the heart disease because you were exactly the opposite of those medical providers who saved your worthless life. . . STUPID!
Yea, you gorged yourself on high carb and high fat shit for food while ignoring everything and everybody around you with any brains who were telling you on a daily basis to eat healthy. Now, it has cost $100k to fix your pitiful ass and will cost twicve as much to keep you alive before it's all over.
Oh, you'll probably go ahead and accept that little piece of knowledge that you're a dumb glutton, because after all, it's still easier to be stupid than anything else. And as for your recovery; probably no human power could convince you that it was modern medical science and not your sky pixie that saved your ignorant ass.
I guess that's the benefit of being stupid and/or ignorant. . . it's easy.

A date to forget
Europe plans manned moon mission in 2018
Thu Nov 4, 12:25PM PT - AP
The European Space Agency hopes its lunar mission in 2018 will allow astronauts to explore the Moon's South Pole region, which is of particular interest because of its plentiful sunlight and potential…
Now there's a date that will get pushed forward.
Sure, we did it in 7, but it took a massive effort that I don't believe the Europeans have the resources to mount. I know, you're thinking "But Hillbilly, they have computers and CAD/CAM and all that these day which we didn't have in the 60s. We had to use slide rules, drawing and machinists to get to the Moon" Yea, yea, yea, it'll still take gargantuan gobs of money and tens of thousands of skilled workers to pull off and like I said, they just don't have those resources readily available. What are they going to do, shut down their aircraft production? RAISE TAXES?!?!
BTW: AP, When used to connote the planet like body that orbits the Earth, "Moon" is a proper noun. How about you treat it as such and quit looking like a bunch of Jr. Hi. essay writers.

Developing a culture of responsibility
An item in todays headlines says: "The Growing Burden of Teacher Pensions"
It's a "burden" those teacher pensions. Yea, yea, sure we hired them. We promised them pensions, but it's a "burden" to live up to that. . . uh. . . ok, I'm gonna go ahead and use the "R" word that nobody wants to hear these days . . . RESPONSIBILITY.
So now we find ourselves in a little bit of a financial jam and all of a sudden it's a "burden." I guess we're gonna let corporations who find themselves in a financial jam reclassify their responsibilities as a "burden." Oh wait, we're already letting them do that. Ok, how about this. . . I run up $10k on a credit card and then I can't pay because of a "financial jam (like $10k on a credit card)," can I classify it as a burden and not take responsibility for it? Well, according to some advertisements I see, I'll only have to pay "pennies on the dollar!"
WTF is wrong with the proles and this country in general? Will we ever get back to where people, government, and corporation take responsibility for their actions. Where they live up to their commitments?
Maybe if we developed a little bit of a culture of responsibility in this country we'd all be able to live a lot better lives.
Pay your debts. Know how you're going to pay them before you take them out or just don't take them out. The same general idea goes for gov't and business.
If you make a promise, live up to it. There are extenuating circumstances, but a little bit of financial hardship is not one of them. Serious illness, death, horrible disaster yea, but normal things that one ought to expect in life are not reasons to back out of your responsibility.

Giving in to the extremist right wing. . . again.
Why have the dems been giving in to the extremist right for the past 10 years while they do not budge an inch?
I am sick and tired of these spineless little wimpy democrat dip shits almost as sick and tired as I am of the pricks on the other side.
White House Gives In On Bush Tax Cuts
Huff Post
WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama's top adviser suggested to The Huffington Post late Wednesday that the administration is ready to accept an across-the-board continuation of steep Bush-era tax cuts, including those for the wealthiest taxpayers.
That appears to be the only way, said David Axelrod, that middle-class taxpayers can keep their tax cuts, given the legislative and political realities facing Obama in the aftermath of last week's electoral defeat.
"We have to deal with the world as we find it," Axelrod said during an unusually candid and reflective 90-minute interview in his office, steps away from the Oval Office. "The world of what it takes to get this done."

A taste of things to come?
I love this. It's about time somebody in the Obama administration decided to man-up.
I hope this is an indication of how they are going to handle the republicans, who also like to impede the common good.
Gibbs threatens to pull Obama from India talks after press dispute
By Michael Calderone
Press Secretary Robert Gibbs is known for sparring with White House reporters, making for what often seems an antagonistic mood in the press briefing room.
But during President Obama's trip to India, Gibbs assumed the role of press advocate and threatened to pull Obama out of bilateral talks with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh because three U.S. reporters were blocked from covering the meeting.
Indian officials would let only five reporters into Hyderabad House in New Delhi instead of the agreed-upon eight.
The Washington Post's Scott Wilson—who was on White House pool duty Monday and filed the report for the White House press corps—wrote that "Gibbs announced loudly and persistently on steps of Hyderabad House that he would pull" President Obama out of the meeting "unless 'the White House 8,' as we've come to be known, were all allowed in."
As the discussion continued, Gibbs grew more animated.
"At one point, Gibbs literally had his foot lodged in the closing front door, asking if the Indian security officials pushing hard to shut it were going to break his foot," Wilson continued. "More angry words ensued, and after Gibbs convinced them, through high volume and repetition, that he was serious" about pulling Obama, the press secretary had the security retinue's full attention.

MORE Compromise?!
Democrats compromise when the republican are in control, they compromise when the republicans are NOt in control. Republicans NEVER compromise with democrats.
WTF?!
New reality: Obama, GOP talk compromise, conflict
AP –
A chastened President Barack Obama signaled a new willingness to yield to Republican demands on tax cuts and jettisoned a key energy priority on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after he and fellow Democrats absorbed election losses so severe he called them a shellacking.

21st Century Crumbling Amurkkka
Wow, who would have guessed that two years later, the Amurkkkin voters would have given it back to the party of Bush the MoronMonkeyBoy? Not JUST the party that got us into the HUGE mess we have today, but a more extremist radical, rabid and ridiculously dumbed down version of the party that got us into the huge economic and social crisis we face today.
One has to wonder why the democrats weren't more vocal about how they have taken the proper and brave steps to get our economy on the road to recovery, but really, it is quite obvious and the voters should have been smart enough and well informed enough to know the facts. Alas, the extremist right wing counted on the fact that the proletariat are stupid in 21st Century Amurkkka and they could succeed on lies, exaggerations and other false claims. They could manipulate through fear and intimidation. Well, it that's all the voters of this country are worth, I guess they got what they deserve.
I give up. I'm too old to go nuts wondering why the electorate chose to remain ignorant to fact. I'm too old to contemplate when and why this country went from progressive to stupid. Yes, plain old simple stupid.
I think I'll spend my later years blissfully ignorant myself. Ignorant of the specifics of my country crumbling after only 234 years. I just don't want to watch anymore.
Bye.

What will happen tomorrow?
Will some level of sanity prevail or will a bunch of whacked out extreme right wing religious extremist fundamentalists take the helm of congress? Sadly, here in WV we don't have much of a choice.
We will soon see the fate of our nation.
We will soon see the fate of our nation.

Free speech and "pro-life" old creepy fucks
Yesterday I was in Sarasota Fl. I was parked outside a yoga studio waiting for my uber groovy wife and daughter to finish up twisting and turning their limber bodies to the sound of some prozac chewing granola munching uber groovy enlightened one.
I was watching a group of young people standing on the corner in front of me holding signs about respecting, loving anf trusting women. I wasn't sure what was going on until I started seeing a bunch of creepy old fucks showing up with pro-choice signs. I began to notice that the old fucks were camped out by the main front entrance of the building and were talking to everyone entering the building and then they were around the side of the building at the entrance to the parking lot doing the same.
My curiosity got the best of me so I got out of my car and approached the kids on the corner. They explained to me exactly what I suspected. They were supporting the women entering the women's health center while the creepy old fucks were stopping and intimidating everyone. So I said to these kids "what? you mean these creepy old fucks are hassling all the women who approach the building?" With that, the creepiest of the old fucks walked up to me and said "we're offering them choices."
I blew a gasket. I said "what the fuck makes you think that these women haven't thought long and hard about making this decision that effects their life profoundly? What makes you think that they haven't contemplated, considered and then contemplated and considered again all their options before making their decision?" He gave me some dumb ass comment about making moral decisions and I really laid into the creepy old fuck who by now had a gaggle of creepy old fucks around him. I told them in no uncertain terms that their Christian morality was a huge crock of bullshit. I told them they were lying hypocrites and that their best course of action was to limp their creepy old asses home and mind their own business. Then the creepiest old fuck told me "you don't understand the issues." Woo hoo I slipped into overdrive and informed their decrepit creepy asses that they needed to quit picking on innocent young women. That they were lying, self righteous, and totally full of shit and how dare they pick on young women? They mumbled something and I just told them to shut the fuck up, go home and mind their own business.
I was WAY too pissed off.
I then went back to my car and soon my wonderful wife and lovely daughter arrived. I then realized why the creepy old fucks pissed me off so bad. I know that if either of them had been in the position of the young girls entering that facility and they had been approached by the creepy old fucks with their guilt trips and pseudo morality, I'd have cleared the sidewalks of creepy old fucks.
Yea, I'm all about the Constitution of the United States and the 1st Amendment, but you've got to be able to accept the consequences of you actions. How sorry are you going to feel for some redneck who walks through a black neighborhood yelling n@#g^r? How about the white supremist who walks into a synagogue shouting Nazi slogans? Both are going to get their asses kicked by someone who really believes they deserve it. Probably no one is going to get arrested as long as it's a simple as kicking. Yea, fuck with my wife or one of my daughters like that and I'm gonna leave marks.

Will the dumb fuck proles do it again?
Republicans, heading for big gains, ready agenda
AP – 1 hr 27 mins ago
WASHINGTON – Republican leaders, ever more confident of their chances of winning control of the House and possibly even the Senate, have begun plotting a 2011 agenda topped by a push for more than $100 billion in spending cuts, tax reductions and attempts to undo key parts of President Barack Obama's health care and financial regulation laws.
Lessee, spending cuts means taking away from social services that benefit to bottom most earners but not touching corporate welfare.
Tax reductions means cutting the taxes on the highest earners in the country and throwing a bone to the rest.
Undoing parts of the healthcare bill means releiving corporations of any responsibility to provide health benefits to employees and any other part of the bil that might be a financial burden on those with the mega bucks.
Undoing financial regulations means going back to the status quo of letting the banks do whateve the fuck they want which ends up with the highest earners walking away with gigantic amounts of money while the financial institutions they pillaged up crumble.
If the fucktards who call themselves American voters return the treasury to the same dumb fucking traitors who pillaged it for 8 years the last time, fuck it. I just don't give a damn anymore.

We get what we deserve. . .
If the voters of Amurkkka decide to reinstall the party of Bush, Gingrich, etc. then we will get what they deserve. This country will be led down a path of destruction with all the people at the top having so much resource that it won't matter to them. Meanwhile, everyone will be working for minimum wage with poor healthcare.
Fuck the voters of Amurkkka. Let them get what they deserve.
Just remember that it's your children and all who come after you who will really suffer.
I just don't fucking care anymore.
AP-GfK Poll: Likely voters ready to embrace GOP

WASHINGTON – All signs point to huge Republican victories in two weeks, with the GOP now leading Democrats on virtually every measure in an Associated Press-GfK poll of people likely to vote in the first major elections of Barack Obama's presidency.
In the final survey before Election Day, likely voters say the GOP would do a better job than Democrats on handling the economy, creating jobs and running the government.
Most also think the country's headed in the wrong direction. More than half disapprove of Obama's job performance. And even more don't like the Democratic-controlled Congress.

Black neighbors to picket woman's Confederate flag
AP
By BRUCE SMITH, Associated Press Writer Bruce Smith, Fri Oct 15, 1:19 pm ET
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. – Annie Chambers Caddell, whose ancestors fought in the Civil War, insists the Confederate flag flying over her home is an important reminder of her heritage. But for her neigbors in this tree-shrouded, historically black neighborhood, it's an unpleasant reminder of a by-gone era they'd rather not see every time they pass by her house.
Fuck you Annie Chambers.
I have a friend who's father was in the German Army. What would the reaction be if he flew a Nazi flag in a Jewish neighborhood as a "reminder of [his] heritage?"
What a dumb fucking cracker ass moron.
NY officers face stat-fudging charges
By TOM HAYS and COLLEEN LONG, Associated Press Writers Tom Hays And Colleen Long, Associated Press Writers – 5 mins ago
NEW YORK – Four New York Police Department officers are facing internal charges based on the highly publicized accusations by a fellow officer that they manipulated crime statistics, an NYPD official said Friday.
The officers include the former commanding officer of the 81st Precinct in Brooklyn, Deputy Inspector Steven Mauriello.
WHAT?!?! Dishonest cops? No way. Who would suspect such a thing.
Right to hunt, fish on ballot in four states
Reuters
By Ed Stoddard and Tim Gaynor Ed Stoddard And Tim Gaynor – Thu Oct 14, 2:02 pm ET
DALLAS/PHOENIX (Reuters) – Worried that their pastime may get waylaid by a growing animal welfare movement, U.S. hunters and anglers in some states are seeking constitutional safeguards.
When voters in Arizona, Arkansas, South Carolina and Tennessee go to the polls to cast their ballots in the congressional elections on Nov 2, they will also be asked if they support making hunting and fishing constitutional rights. . .
"They start with cats and dogs and the next thing you know, someone says it's inhumane to shoot a deer. It's like buying an insurance policy," he told Reuters in a phone interview.
According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, 10 states guarantee the right to hunt and fish in their constitutions. Vermont's provisions go back to 1777 but the rest have all been put in place since 1996.
The current measures are not seen making a big difference in any House or Senate race.
But they are another lifestyle clash in America's many culture wars, which often seem to pit the rural and conservative "heartland" against urban liberals.
Now here's some dumb ass shit. This fucking state legislators who sponsor horse shit like this ought to be tied and bound and forced to eat week old road kill for wasting any state's tax dollars on an initiative like this bullshit.
Fact: I've been alive in this country for over half a century which is over 1/5 of the life of this nation. Not once, not one single time have my rights as a gun owner or my rights as an avid outdoorsman been compromised. I grew up hunting and fishing. I still hunt and fish. I've never heard a single legislator suggest that my hunting and fishing be curtailed. That doesn't mean that some fringe whako somewhere hasn't suggested it, but it certainly never gained the slightest bit of traction.
Will you numb skulled bubbas out there just relax and quit worrying about your precious right to bear arms and hunt and fish. It aint going anywhere. At any point when it is threatened I'll join you, but till then, you're a bunch of reactionary, pawns being led around like ignorant sheep. . . I take that back, I have a sheep and it's much smarter than you dumb fuck backwoods morons or you dumb fuck bright-lighters who go out in the woods and fields once a year just so you can prove what a man you are.
But of all the dunb shit cracker assed insanity in Amurkkka today, this has got to be one of the grandest and no surprise it's perpetrated by the queen of the TeaBaggers. . .
O'Donnell questions separation of church, state
By BEN EVANS, Associated Press Writer
WILMINGTON, Del. – Republican Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell of Delaware on Tuesday questioned whether the U.S. Constitution calls for a separation of church and state, appearing to disagree or not know that the First Amendment bars the government from establishing religion.
The exchange came in a debate before an audience of legal scholars and law students at Widener University Law School, as O'Donnell criticized Democratic nominee Chris Coons' position that teaching creationism in public school would violate the First Amendment by promoting religious doctrine.
Coons said private and parochial schools are free to teach creationism but that "religious doctrine doesn't belong in our public schools."
"Where in the Constitution is the separation of church and state?" O'Donnell asked him.
When Coons responded that the First Amendment bars Congress from making laws respecting the establishment of religion, O'Donnell asked: "You're telling me that's in the First Amendment?"
I mean, come on. I might expect some ignorant bubba teabagging bozo from some hick midwestern town or Appalachian holler to come up with that shit, but a republican senate candidate? This right wing neo-fascist is dumber than a sled track.
So all you right wing tea partiers: is the answer to your artificially induced anger to elect a bunch of ignorant morons who don't understand the absolute minimum basics of the Constitution of the United States? My suspicion is that to most of these tea baggers, the Constitution of the United States just isn't all that important.
Sagaciously yours. . .

Sagaciously yours. . .

Public Spaceships
Very slowly we're getting closer and closer to the world that visionaries like Werner VonBraun and Arthur C. Clark imagined. We're way past 2001 chronologically, but so far from it technically.

After making its first solo glide flight Sunday (Oct. 10), the private suborbital spacecraft SpaceShipTwo could achieve another major milestone — a powered test flight involving the firing of its rocket motor — in the next few months.
Officials at Virgin Galactic, which plans to use its SpaceShipTwo to ferry tourists on suborbital joyrides, have said a powered test flight could come by the end of this year, and paying passengers could be flying to the edge of space by late 2011 or early 2012. [Video: SpaceShipTwo's First Solo Glide Test.]
I'm not real crazy about Richard Branson, but he has put his money into something he believes in and something I believe in, so I gotta give him lots of credit and admire his commitment. It's where my billions would be going if I had them.
Burt Rutan is THE aviation genius of our time. No less than guys like Glenn Curtis, the Wright Bros., VonBraun, Kelly Johnson or Jack Northrup, he has changed the way people look at airplanes. His designs have been revolutionary to the science of aviation. I am so glad he stepped in and began working on this project. Nobody has and nobody could have done this besides him right now.
Maybe NASA will take a look at what these guys have done out there in the desert and take a lesson in innovation, design and efficiency.
I hereby present Burt Rutan and Scaled Composites with the SagaciousHilly's "Spirit of Apollo Award."
(Stay tuned for more Spirit of Apollo award winners.)

School cafeterias to try psychology in lunch line
AP
By MARILYNN MARCHIONE, AP Medical Writer Marilynn Marchione
Federal officials are turning to psychology in a new approach to get kids to choose healthier foods in the school lunch line.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is giving $2 million to food behavior scientists to use marketing tricks to encourage kids to pick fruits and veggies over cookies and french fries.
Some of the ideas include hiding chocolate milk behind plain milk, putting the salad bar near checkout, placing fruit in pretty baskets and accepting only cash as payment for desserts.
Here's a clue for you "food behavior scientists:"
QUIT SELLING THE FUCKING COOKIES AND FRENCH FRIES!
YOU WANT DRUG ADDICTS TO STOP USING HEROINE? YOU DON'T HIDE THE FUCKING HEROINE BEHIND SOMETHING ELSE HOPING THE ADDICT WONT FIND THE HEROINE! YOU TAKE AWAY THE FUCKING HEROIN! WERE YOU BORN STUPID OR DID YOU RECEIVE A BRAIN INJURY?
Do we really need to spend $2 million to figure out how to get kids to pick the fruits and veggies?
MAKE THE FUCKING FRUITS AND VEGGIES APPEALING! PAY SOME MOTHER FUCKER $2MILLION TO COME UP WITH WAYS OF MAKING FRUITS AND VEGGIES REALLY APPEALING TO KIDS!
IS EVERYBODY IN THIS FUCKING COUNTRY AN IGNORANT SIMPLETON?
Back to you Bob.

Aid worker killed in combat zone
WHAT?! How did THAT happen?!
Here's the headline. . .
Full probe vowed in captive Briton's death
AP
By ROBERT KENNEDY, Associated Press Writer Robert Kennedy, Associated Press Writer –
KABUL, Afghanistan – U.S. and U.K. military officials have started what's promised as a thorough investigation into the death of a kidnapped British aid worker who may have been killed in error by U.S. special forces — rather than, as originally stated, by her Taliban captors.
Linda Norgrove's death has reverberated through the corridors of power from Kabul, to London, to Washington — where President Barack Obama expressed condolences and pledged "to get to the bottom" of what happened during the deadly raid.
Let's break this down and make it simple for those who like to complicate things.
Aid worker (probably with very limited military training) enters combat zone.
Aid worker is taken hostage/POW/whatever by enemy forces.
Aid worker is killed in fog of war.
Aid worker took a chance, knew or should have known the risks involved and crapped out.
Is it time to imitate the Russians yet and GET THE FUCK OUT OF THIS GOD FORSAKEN SHIT HOLE OF A COUNTRY and let the ignorant whack job religious fundies have it back?
Sorry Afghanistan, we can't fix you either. If you don't like living under an oppressive religious extremist regime you'd better get the fuck out.

Obesity, diabetes, good nutrition, public assistance and Mayor Bloomburg
I'm beginning to like this republican. He seems to be an old time conservative like the practical old men that raised me. I could be wrong but read this article and my comments below. . .
NYC – You wouldn’t eat 16 packets of sugar, why drink them?
by Holte Ender on Oct 7, 2010
New York’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg, with the encouragement of both city and state health commissioners, is seeking to bar the use of food stamps for buying soda and other sweetened drinks.

Bloomberg is asking the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which controls the food stamp program, for permission to institute a two-year ban that would affect the estimated 1.7 million city residents who receive food stamps. That time frame, he said, would permit health officials to study the health impact of such a ban.
The request, according to the mayor’s office, would not in any way reduce food stamp eligibility or size of the food stamp benefit received by recipients.
There are already a number of limitations on the use of food stamps — they cannot be used to purchase alcohol, cigarettes, imported foods, soap, toothpaste, paper products, cleaning supplies, or disposable diapers. Nor can they be used to purchase meals in restaurants.
More than half of New York City residents are overweight or obese, as are about 40% of the city’s school children, according to Farley and Daines.
“One in eight adult city residents now has diabetes, and the disease is nearly twice as common among poorer New Yorkers,” they wrote, adding that the diabetes rate in a poor neighborhood like East New York is about four times higher than the rate in “affluent Gramercy Park.”
The request to restrict food stamps is the latest of a series of healthy living initiatives by the Bloomberg administration, which has already overhauled the cafeteria offerings in the city’s public schools. The mayor also tried and failed to the get the state to impose a special sales tax on soda.
I'm all for my tax dollars going toward feeding those who are hungry. There are a lot of people out there right now who could really use a hand with food costs. They need enough food credit to buy food that's healthy, not just cheap pork and a bag of beans and big slabs of gov't cheese.
Let's also educate people who are receiving public assistance about food so they aren't buying crap food that is going to make them fat and type II diabetic.
A smart and easy way to make sure our tax dollars are being spent wisely by those in need is to be very clear about what can and can not be purchased.
Soda, chips, and other sugar and fat laden food should be a big "NO!" This is all about making sure people have food to eat so that they can function and thrive in our society. It's about feeding children and making sure they grow up healthy and ready to face the world and whatever their day has in store for them.
Oh, you think people ought to be able to choose to eat whatever they want? Fine, you take the money out of your pocket and give it to them. Why should I be sitting here being all fucking Jack Lalanne about what I eat while somebody is using my tax dollars to become obese and sick. I'm against that.
If you go on public assistance in the form of food stamps or WIC, you should be required to either attend classes on nutrition of test out of those classes.
When you go to the store and load up on soda pop, chips, ice cream, candy, etc., there should be a block on your food stamps. There are all sorts of ways to accomplish this. Food credit cards, tags on items in large grocery store computer databases and just general knowledge of those checking you out in smaller groceries, and no, you can't use your food card in a convenience store.
Come on, put me in charge. . . just for a week.
So bravo Mayor Bloomburg. Every now and then a republican shows some common sense and I've seen it more than once in you.

Lou Dobbs on illegal immigration. . .
I don't want to totally condemn Lou Dobbs because he has been a voice against the shipping of jobs overseas and also has spoken out through his show and written books about the destruction of the middle class form corporate actions, but geez, this guy can really sound like a bigot when he gets on his favorite topic of illegal immigration. He rants a rallys about it as if infected hoards of rodents are invading our shores with a plaque.
So when I read this I just had to shake my head and realize that he's just another right wing uber rich conservative who will say whatever it takes to distract the masses from opening their eyes to the greed that prevails in our country.
How many more of these hypocrites will have to be caught benefiting from that which they condemn.
Report: Lou Dobbs employed illegal immigrants
By Michael Calderone
Lou Dobbs has long railed against illegal immigration and the employers who hire undocumented workers. Dobbs generated controversy — and faced boycotts — for attacking "illegal aliens" as host of a nightly CNN show. And since leaving the network in December, Dobbs has kept talking about the issue in interviews, in which he's also left open the possibility of running for senator or president.
But Dobbs might want to pause before making illegal immigration a signature campaign issue: At least five illegal immigrants have reportedly worked on his properties.
The liberal Nation magazine, in a yearlong investigation conducted with the Investigative Fund at the Nation Institute, found that "Dobbs has relied for years on undocumented labor for the upkeep of his multimillion-dollar estates and the horses he keeps for his 22-year-old daughter, Hillary, a champion show jumper."
300 acre farm in NJ, winter home in West Palm Beach, Five $1 million dollar horses. . . yea, he's looking out for YOUR interests.
People like this don't have a clue what YOUR interests are if you are working for a living.

Microsoft: Monkey see, monkey do.
Microsoft CEO's plan to battle the iPhone
Steve Ballmer sees a big opportunity for the new Windows Phones.
Has there ever been an original idea to come out of any department at Microsoft except for marketing? Sometime in the future and a land far, far away they will study the Microsoft phenomena as an icon of the worse in American ingenuity. Microsoft has never developed an original idea. They have stolen every single idea they ever marketed from MS-DOS to Windows to x-box and now their own version of the i-phone.
Since the late 70s Bill Gates has been taking other's ideas, adding a few bells and whistles or not and marketing them as his own. DOS belonged to some guy in Illinois who sold it to IBM and then IBM gave the rights to Microsoft. Windows wasn't even thought of until Jobs and Co. at Apple came out with the Lisa and then the Macintosh. X-Box = Atari. Excel, Word, Power Point all have their roots in programs by Lotus, WordPerfect, Adobe and Apple.
How have this band of bandits done it? I was plugged into the PC industry back in 83 when the Mac came out. I was very tuned into what went on for the next decade. How did they do it? Who the fuck knows? I know they made a killing when IBM came out with the IBM PC and used MS-DOS as the operating system. That gave them a huge stash of cash for marketing and development (buying a bunch of computer genius developers from the best schools). They used this resource to come up with a Windows operating system for the IBM PC. With mega giant IBM behind them and all the independent computer manufacturers that used the IBM/Microsoft architecture, they managed to make another huge killing. I have to laugh when I think of all the weenies who used DOS that used to belittle the Mac operating system as "a toy" and make lots of other snide disparaging comments. It was like religion to them to hack their way through DOS and Lotus 1-2-3 while Mac users were just pointing and clicking.
I'm still amazed at how the best product doesn't always win in the world of marketing. Windows is still a piece of shit with DOS running in the background. It bombs out constantly and crashes hard sometimes. I watched my wife struggle with Windows for years in her office, always thinking, geez, if only they had Macs. Now she uses a Mac exclusively. It never crashes, never loses data, always connects to the printer and is simply easier and more intuitive to use.
So why? Why does Microsoft continue to thrive with ripped off technology and fancy marketing?

GOP's Whitman blames opponent for housekeeper flap
AP –
By JULIET WILLIAMS, Associated Press Writer – 1 hr 7 mins ago
FRESNO, Calif. – GOP gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman accused Democratic rival Jerry Brown on Saturday of orchestrating a scandal over her former illegal immigrant housekeeper, a charge that prompted Brown to fire back and say Whitman won't take accountability and is not fit to be governor.
She epitomizes our society. Nobody accepts responsibility for anything negative these day. It's like every single person in this country is suffering from chronic insecurity and simply can not let anyone know that they fucked up.
Meanwhile, we've got the country crumbling around us and fucktards like this with billions of dollars at their disposal are running for major offices on a "NO RESPONSIBILITY" platform.
I'm really sick of this sick ass society we live in.
Think about it: If nobody accepts responsibility for anything, how can we do anything about the problems we have?
We are doomed because we are a society of pitiful little dim witted proletariat fuck offs who are too weak and feeble to accept responsibility for our actions.
Fuck you Meg Witman and ALL you represent.

Get Well Soon Jimmy!
Jimmy Carter: One of the finest men of the 20th Century and one of the most honest men to ever hold the office of President of the United States.
I'm proud that I voted for him twice.
We would have been so much better off had Reagan NOT been elected president. It started a downward spiral of hate and greed that has nearly sunk the United States of America.
UPDATE:
Jimmy is outta the hospital and has gone to Washington for a "private meeting.
At 86 yrs old and one day out of the hospital for a "viral infection" he's running around like a diplomat. Go President Carter!
WooHoo. . . clap, clap, clap, whistle, cheer.
Christian Republican extremism - Michigan style
I really am a constitutionalist. I've read and studied the Constitution of the United States like every good citizen ought to. Afterall, we are a constitutional republic in this country and I believe we are one of, if not the most successful experiments in government ever undertaken. The Constitution of the United States will live far beyond the life of our country as a model of how a huge mass of different types of people can live together freely and in some sense of order.
So whenever anyone and no matter whoever it is exercises their constitutional rights to free speech and any other freedom outlined in our great constitution, I'm ready to defend their right to do so. I really believe in the ACLU and their efforts to protect EVERYONE'S civil liberties.
But ya know, when some stupid dumb fuck dick wad like this insane crazed homophobic dip shit exercises his constitutional rights to put forth his agenda of hate, narrow minded, bigoted, extremist right wing spew, I just want to go knock the living shit outta the moron and cram his manifesto down his angry puke filled throat while having him bent over the hood of his Ford Escort and ass fucked by twelve big fat ugly leather clad gay bar rejects until his ass is nothing but a mangled, shredded bloody mess.
State attorney launches bizarre Internet war on openly gay college student
By Liz Goodwin
Here's a curious test case for any public servant pondering a sideline as an online political activist. An assistant state attorney general for Michigan has created a blog devoted to discrediting the University of Michigan's student body president, who is openly gay.
Assistant Attorney General Andrew Shirvell has called student Chris Armstrong a "pervert" and "Satan's representative" on his blog, and admits to protesting outside the 21-year-old's home. He scours Armstrong's Facebook page and Armstrong's friends' Facebook pages and posts defaced photos of Armstrong on his site. . .
He continued: "I've protested outside of his house, yes. ... I'm a Christian citizen exercising my First Amendment rights."
See, not all bazaar Christian Republicans nut cases are in WV.

Crazy right wing extremism and paranoia
I got this from a "Guns Alert" e-mail. . .
ALERT: Your right to own a firearm is hanging on by a thread! In it’s most ambitious effort yet, the UN and the Obama regime are working together to pass the Arms Trade Treaty to control and/or ban ALL PRIVATELY OWNED FIREARMS! The anti-gun nuts are holding secret meetings to craft a slew of uber-restrictive gun laws known as the Arms Trade Treaty. This Progressive backed treaty could become international law as soon as 2012. The globalist gun agenda wants to disarm the world one gun at a time! Take action NOW to protect YOUR GUNS!
Not only do these morons believe that the UN has some measure of control in the United States of America, but they believe that we are on the verge of being disarmed by the UN. . . our right are "hanging by a thread!"
How fucking stupid can stupid get?
I've been a citizen of this country all my life. My ancestry here goes back to the 17th Century. In my lifetime and my father's lifetime, my rights as a gun owner, hunter, defender of my property, etc., have NEVER ONCE been infringed. I have the same cache of guns my father had and more. I have a gun my g'father owned.
What the fuck is the matter with these NRA gun nut whacked out freaks?
This little gem from the mouth of the republican senate candidate from Delaware.
Evolution is a myth," O'Donnell said, starting to explain her position before Maher interrupted.
"Evolution is a myth?" he asked. "Have you ever looked at a monkey?"
"Well then why aren't they, why aren't monkeys still evolving into humans?" O'Donnell responded.
Yes folks, we have simple minded morons running a legitimate candidates for seats in the United States Senate.
PEople like this used to be relegated to third party cadidacy or write in campaigns. Geez, they make Lyndon LaRouch look mainstream.

WTF behavior of Newt teabagger Gingrich
Gingrich: President Exhibits ‘Kenyan, Anticolonial Behavior’
By MICHAEL D. SHEAR
Newt Gingrich said this weekend that President Obama exhibited “Kenyan, anticolonial behavior,” an observation that drew angry if puzzled responses from Democrats and questions about Mr. Gingrich’s meaning and motivation.
Mr. Gingrich, who is mulling a bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, made the comments to National Review Online. He was quoted by the conservative Web site as saying: “What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anticolonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]? That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior.”
Earth to Newt Gingrich: When did "anti-colonial" become a bad thing in America?
Do we consider the founding fathers to have been wrong? Was their rally against colonial domination a negative thing?!
WTF is this guy talking about?
We consider the greatest anti-colonialist of the 20th Century, Mahatma Gandhi, to have been one of the greatest men of the 20th Century.
Was Martin Luther King not an anti-colonialist?
See, this is the problem with these right wing extremists. They really don't know what the fuck they are talking about. They don't understand American history, the Constitution of the United States, the roots and policy of American freedom and other basic American institutions, values and ways of life.
These people would be better served if they all went off and lived on some island somewhere where they could just make up lame brained rules on a daily basis and change them every week as whatever they're thinking at the time dictates.
They are totally THAT fucked up.
And YOU. Yes, YOU who are considering voting for any of these stupid fucking moronic dip shits! You are just as stupid as they are. You obviously don't understand basic American values, constitutional rights and freedoms. You are not patriotic. You are a dumb fuck anit-American buffoon.

The continuing saga of Hollyweird addiction
AP Source: Lohan fails court-ordered drug test
By ANTHONY McCARTNEY, AP Entertainment Writer – 2 hrs 56 mins ago
LOS ANGELES – Lindsay Lohan has failed a court-ordered drug and alcohol screening test and could face a probation violation that might throw her back in jail.
Do we really care? Obviously we do.
I feel sorry for this poor pitiful creature who just can't stay clean and sober. I know how hard that is for someone suffering from addiction. I hope she has her moment of clarity and gets it before she dies.
That said; aren't we all just a little bit sick of the Hollywood sickies? I mean, come on, Linsey Lohan, Jouquin Pheonix, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and sad sorry piles of other celebrity messes saturate the news media on a daily basis. ENOUGH! We know that you dumb fucks are no better than the rest of us dumb fucks. That means a whole bunch of you are going to be mental basket cases. I don't want to see the mental basket cases who inhabit my world paraded before me in living color and I sure as hell don't want to see these Hollywood celebrity dip shits in a parade of psychotics.
The difference between the mental basket cases in my world and those in the Hollyweird world is that the ones in my world have a lot less resources at their disposal to get themselves propped up and on the mend. Sure, in the end they'll all be relying on the same 12 step programs to maintain their sanity, but up front, there's a lot less hope for those with limited resources.
How bout we shed some light on what the real evils of substance abuse are for the average person and the causes of addiction instead of the gross voyeuristic nonsense that we have to endure day in and day out from the press.
Naaaaw, that wouldn't sell..

What is happening here?
Should we be concerned?
Tea party favorite O'Donnell wins in Delaware
AP – 5 mins ago
WASHINGTON – Virtually unknown a month ago, Christine O'Donnell of Delaware rode a surge of support from tea party activists to victory in the Republican Senate primary Tuesday night, dealing yet another setback to the GOP establishment in a campaign season full of them. A second upstart led for the GOP nomination in New Hampshire.
This is getting a little disconcerting. We've got a bunch of radical right wing extremists who seem set to assume positions of power in our country. I can't help but be reminded of Germany in the very early 30s.

Record poverty levels - who will get blamed?
Record gains for US poverty with elections looming
By HOPE YEN and LIZ SIDOTI, Associated Press Writers Hope Yen And Liz Sidoti, Associated Press Writers
WASHINGTON – The number of people in the U.S. who are in poverty is on track for a record increase on President Barack Obama's watch, with the ranks of working-age poor approaching 1960s levels that led to the national war on poverty.
Census figures for 2009 — the recession-ravaged first year of the Democrat's presidency — are to be released in the coming week, and demographers expect grim findings.
It's unfortunate timing for Obama and his party just seven weeks before important elections when control of Congress is at stake. The anticipated poverty rate increase — from 13.2 percent to about 15 percent — would be another blow to Democrats struggling to persuade voters to keep them in power.
The question is, will the real story be told? Will the democrats insist that the real story be told?
Will the story go back to Reagan's policy of corporate pandering? Will the nation discuss the process where millions and millions of jobs were wholesaled off shore to where the cheap labor was? Will the discussion proceed to discussion the consequences of unchecked corporate monopolization, hostile takeovers, etc. that removed millions of jobs from middle class workers? Twentyfive years ago people were worried that the middle class was being destroyed by the mega corporations that were beginning to dominate the scene. We said that all this movement off shore and the dissolution of smaller companies into conglomerates was a bad thing for the American worker.
Welcome to the 21st Century. It has all come to pass as a result of republican policies that have dominated the political scene for the past 30 years.
Now, who is going to be blamed for these numbers? And isn't odd that these numbers have crept up on us to all of a sudden be released like a bolt of lightning that no one knew about before?
Yes folks, the republicans will turn this all into a story of how, since the democrats and that president of theirs took over two years ago, the country has gone to hell in a handbasket. That is the story you'll get from Fox News and that is the story that the dumb fuck ignorant proles will believe.
Is it really worth fighting for anymore in this country? Are there better places to be?

Islamic "controversy" and 9-11 pandering
9/11 events go on in shadow of Islam controversies
AP – 11 mins ago
NEW YORK – A day of mourning for nearly 3,000 Sept. 11 victims began with moments of silence and tears near ground zero, as observers braced for protests over a mosque planned blocks away on what is usually an anniversary free of politics.
What a big load of stinking shit.
There is only a controversy because the media has made it so. The Islamic center is located two NYC blocks away from "ground zero." I am getting tired of the media whipping the ignorant proles into a frenzy.
Then you have the grief whores. . . these are people who are constantly throwing around the "Remember 9-11" bullshit along with waving their little tear soaked American flags. If you weren't there, if nobody you know was killed there, if you were not directly effected by the events of 9-11 and you're still going around 9 years late getting all emotional and tore up over those events then you are probably a psychotic grief junkie.
My WTC story:
I remember when I was a teenager catching a bus into the city and making my way out to Staten Island to hook up with a pretty little blond girl I'd met in summer camp. I ended up walking down the medium of the highway that runs along the river in lower Manhattan while trying to get down to the Staten Island ferry (yea, I was a country bumpkin trying to make my way through the maze of NYC without having a clue about public transportation, etc.). I remember looking up at the double towered monstrosity they were building that seemed to loom directly over me a reach infinitely into the sky. The tops were covered in yellow plastic. It was an incredible sight for a 16 yr old hick from upstate. As I was looking up I got dizzy and almost fell backwards into the speeding traffic on the four lane highway. . . that scared the hell outta me. Every time I ever went to NYC after that I'd gaze at those towers in wonder and amazement and think about the awesome perspective I had on them that day.
As I watched them crumble on Sept. 11, 2001 I wept. I wept because I felt the horror of watching all those people die. I knew right then that thousands of people were dying before my eyes. I wept because those immense breath taking icons of American civilization were crumbling before my eyes. I didn't just weep, I cried hard. I cried out loud with my face buried in my hands. It was one of the most horrifying things I ever witnessed.
I've moved on from that moment of grief and shock a looooong time ago. I don't use it to inspire hate within me for some ethnic group. I don't use it to justify the terrible misdeeds done by my country.
If you're still waving the flag and sporting your "remember 9-11" tee shirt, that's all you're doing is playing some dumb fuck pitiful role. You're a sorry ass grief monkey. Get over it, move on and do some thing positive for your country instead of living in the past and building a collective resentment that will eventually destroy us all. . . yes, the collective hate and resentment of something totally irrelevant like that will destroy our country. You aren't patriots. You're a bunch of sorry assed dip shits who have no idea what patriotism or Americanism really means.
Fuck all of you.

Corporate irresponsibility
Now here's an article that defines corporate culture of the 21st Century.
"Take no responsibility. Assess blame and place it upon others."
These piece of shit corpo-fascist pricks will NEVER take the responsibility they should. Decent human beings accept responsibility for the wrongs they do. They admit theirpast wrongs, make ammends and go on. Not these corporate mother fuckers. They are not decent human beings. They are nothing but greed driven and profit controlled. They will do whatever it takes wherever they have to do it to protect the next quarter's bottom line.
These are not decent human beings. They are piece of shit corporate entities. They will use their power, might and money to convince YOU that they are doing the public good and they are so very sorry about the Gulf oil spill, "BUT IT'S NOT OUR FAULT!"
Now everyone buy our oil and pay no attention to the environmental catastrophe that has befallen the Gulf of Mexico. Forget about those thousands of people whose lives have been shattered.
Somebody would be in jail if our government wasn't a co-conspirator in this inhuman recreant mess.
BP: Multiple companies, teams contributed to spill
AP
Harry R. Weber, Michael Kunzelman And Dina Cappiello, Associated Press Writers – 33 mins ago
NEW ORLEANS – Oil giant BP PLC said in an internal report released Wednesday before a key piece of evidence has been analyzed that multiple companies and work teams contributed to the massive Gulf of Mexico spill that fouled waters and shorelines for months.
In its 193-page report posted on its website Wednesday, the British company describes the incident as an accident that arose from a complex and interlinked series of mechanical failures, human judgments, engineering design, operational implementation and team interfaces.
BP spread the blame around, and even was critical of its own workers' conduct, but it defended the design of its well and it was careful in its assessments. It already faces hundreds of lawsuits and billions of dollars of liabilities. In public hearings, it had already tried to shift some of the blame to rig owner Transocean Ltd. and cement contractor Halliburton. BP was leasing the rig from Transocean and owned the well that blew out.
And here's a great tactic for shirking all corporate responsibility in a corporate tragedy: Stand there like a 5 year old in front of the horrible mess and shrug your shoulders and say "gee, I don't know what happened."

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Massey Energy officials said Monday that safety checks revealed no methane buildup or ventilation problems at the company's Upper Big Branch Mine just prior to the explosion that killed 29 miners three weeks ago.
"There was no evidence of a dangerous condition," said Massey board member Stanley C. Suboleski. "I'm mystified at what occurred at the mine on April 5."
Maybe we should put this scumbag along with the rest of his backwoods moron coal company executive buddies into a room full of methane gas and then ignite a spark. No, that would be too quick for these murdering shit piles.

Oh the bitter irony. . .
OK, Jimi Hendrix used the same line in Stone Free. Does that mean that President Obama ripped it from him? Hardly. . . uh, FUCKING hardly.
Read the way it went down and Jimi Hendrix's lyric below. . .
Obama channels Hendrix on critics: ‘They talk about me like a dog’
By Holly Bailey - Tue Sep 7, 12:10 pm ET
Has President Obama been listening to a lot of Jimi Hendrix lately? With just under two months to go before Election Day, Obama kicked off the fall campaign season Monday with an aggressive speech targeting Republicans. But it was an off-script moment in the speech that's attracted the most attention, as Obama accused his GOP critics of talking about him "like a dog."
"Some powerful interests who had been dominating the agenda in Washington for a very long time -- and they're not always happy with me -- they talk about me like a dog. That's not in my prepared remarks, but it's true," Obama said during a speech at Wisconsin's Laborfest on Monday.
Though Obama didn't acknowledge it, the line was a verbatim quote from "Stone Free," the first song Hendrix wrote after moving to England in 1966. "They talk about me like a dog," the song says. "Talkin about the clothes I wear. But they don't realize they're the ones who's square."
Let's consider; In hip culture, meaning anyone who has been the slightest bit cool in the past 35 yrs, "talk about me (her, him, them, it) like a dog" is fairly common usage. I believe I learned it back in the mid 70s from a group of Black people I spent a lot of time hanging out with. "woman talked about me like I was some kinda dog" would have been a common of hand thing to hear.
Being disrespected verbally is being talked to like a dog.
So, the irony is that while these stupid fucks want to make an issue out of nothing (oh, believe me, they will before this is all over) the truth is, "they don't realize they're the ones who's square."
I'm getting so tired of this nonsense.
