Lies, smoke, mirrors and plain old bullshit in the news and from me

Physicists challenge US missile claims
By DESMOND BUTLER, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - A number of top U.S-based physicists have concluded that the Bush administration used inaccurate claims to reassure NATO allies about U.S. missile defense plans in Eastern Europe.

GASP! "The Bush administration used inaccurate claims?!" Say it aint so.

They say the planned Polish-based interceptors and a radar system in the Czech Republic could target and catch Russian missiles, thus threatening Russia's nuclear deterrent. . .
The Pentagon agency overseeing the missile program, the Missile Defense Agency, rejects the scientists' claims, saying their analyses are flawed. The United States says the missile system is intended to counter a threat from Iran and could not take out Russian missiles. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has dismissed Russia's concerns as "ludicrous."
But the six scientists, whose backgrounds include elite American universities, research labs and high levels of government, said in interviews that Russia's concerns were justified.

Let's see. . . who ya gonna believe? The Pentagon and Condoleeza Rice or a group of physicists?
I've known some physicists in my life. I've spent a great deal of time in the scientific community. Physicists are probably, as a group, the nerdiest bunch of scientists there are and as such, are probably the most honest and the least concerned with the consequences of their truths.
I'll believe the physicists every time over a bunch of Washington whores.

I once knew a guy who was a psychopathic liar. . . . we'll call him "Dave." Dave would rather tell a lie than the truth even if the truth served him better. Dave was so good that you would sit there, knowing he was a psycho liar but listen to him intently believing every word he said. You'd walk away and five minutes later slap yourself and go, "dooooh!" He got me again! How is that possible?
After dealing with this guy for a while (he actually worked for me) I became fairly good a picking out lies from truth. This administration tries to lie on the same level but falls woefully short. Their lies are so fucking transparent that anyone ought to be able to see them. . . but no, the american proletariat seems content to swallow whatever is fed them and congress is so full of liars they don't care.

"Childrens do learn," Bush tells school kids
Wed Sep 26, 2:03 PM ET
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Offering a grammar lesson guaranteed to make any English teacher cringe, President George W. Bush told a group of New York school kids on Wednesday: "Childrens do learn.". . .
As Bush addressed the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday, a marked-up draft of his speech briefly popped up on the U.N. Web site, complete with a phonetic pronunciation guide to get him past troublesome names of countries and world leaders.

Since the spineless democrats in congress refuse to execute justice and impeach this little low life POS, I guess we have to endure another year of such embarrassing public displays from this pitiful excuse for a president.

Obama camp plays down wife's comment
By MIKE GLOVER, Associated Press Writer
DES MOINES, Iowa - The campaign of Democrat Barack Obama moved quickly Thursday to dampen any expectations raised by Michelle Obama who said this week that her husband has to win Iowa.
Most polls in Iowa show the Illinois senator in a tight race with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and John Edwards. During a visit Wednesday to Davenport, Iowa, Michelle Obama commented on the importance of a strong showing in the caucuses.

Good luck Mr. Obama. You're talking about IOWA. This is easily the whitest white bread state in the nation. These people define 1950's Americana. Don't be looking for them to be the first state in the history of the United States to select an African-American to run for president.

Bush looks for fix for airline delays
By KIMBERLY HEFLING, Associated Press Writer
Thu Sep 27, 7:07 PM ET
WASHINGTON - President Bush promised on Thursday to take steps to reduce air traffic congestion and long delays that have left travelers grounded. "Endless hours sitting in an airplane on a runway with no communication between a pilot and the airport is just not right," he said.. . . .
"We've got a problem," Bush said. "We understand there's a problem. And we're going to address the problem."

Ahh, so the corpo-fascists finally decide to tackle a domestic issue and they pick the one most likely to effect their own people. Face it, poor folks fly in airplanes about as often as rich folks take the bus.
Besides, don't look for these "CORPO-fascists to fix a damn thing about the airlines that causes he airlines to reduce their profits by a single dollar. More than likely, they will come up with a "fix" that somehow give the airlines an advantage financially and continues to leave passengers sitting on the ramp and in gate areas for hours while claiming to have fixed the problem.

Bush seeks new image on global warming
By JOHN HEILPRIN, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - Myth: The president refuses to admit that climate change is real and that humans are a factor. Myth: The U.S. is doing nothing to address climate change. Myth: The United States refuses to engage internationally.
So begins a hand-sized handout, easy for reporters to pocket, issued at the State Department where President Bush on Friday was to cap two days of talks at a White House-sponsored climate change conference that is as much about salesmanship as it is about diplomacy.
Unwilling to cut U.S. emissions of greenhouse gases, which make up a fourth of the world's total output, Bush is turning to China, India and the other biggest polluters to swap green technology and other voluntary ways of doing something about global warming.

Why don't these scum sucking pricks just shut the fuck up. Everyone knows they are NOT going to do a damn thing to compromise the profitability of ANY U.S. corporation, so just stop with the bullshit. Here's a hint for all you ignorant proles who guzzle this bullshit. . . "voluntary" compliance among corporations does not work.
OK, here's an even bigger hint for you dumb fuck weenies who believe the rhetoric and lies this administration spews. . . if we take away all police patrols on all the highways in the USA and tell everyone that we would like them to "voluntarily comply with the speed limits," what do you think would happen?
Does that help?

Thompson unaware of death penalty cases
By ERIK SCHELZIG, Associated Press Writer
Thu Sep 27, 8:51 PM ET
FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson said Thursday he was unaware that a federal judge had ruled last week that lethal injection procedures in his home state were unconstitutional.
Thompson also told reporters he was unaware that the U.S. Supreme Court agreed this week to consider a Kentucky case about whether lethal injection violates the Constitution's ban on cruel and unusual punishment.
Thompson's support for the death penalty was a major part of his campaign platform when he first ran for the U.S. Senate in Tennessee in 1994. Asked for his response to the recent Tennessee and Kentucky cases, Thompson responded, "I hadn't heard that. I didn't know."

Come on folks, do we really need another ignorant moron in the position of president? Haven't we had enough of stupid presidential appearances, neglected public works, botched foreign policy and too numerous to count absurdities? Don't we want an administration that is actually run BY the president and not some handfull of Vaderesque henchmen ("Vaderesque". . . remember, you heard it here first) appointed by a panel of power brokers from the corporate royalty?

I'm tired Mom. Can we go back to the 90s now?

Uh... Montana? Utah? Idaho? North and South Dakota? Wisconsin? Oregon? Washington (state)? I'm seriously wondering if you're really this ignorant, or if you're just trying to tweak the good people of Iowa. We don't have trailer-park inbreds kidnapping and torturing young black women in Iowa. Now where was that? Oh yeah... it was in your POS, backward-ass, marginally educated state.

Which explains many of your witless diatribes.

HAR! Just checking sag1, to see if you were paying attention to my "witless diatribes" from my "POS, backward-ass, marginally educated state."
I knew I could get you to bite on the IOWA thing. That was too easy. . . you even reeled yourself in.

Dude, those guys were beyond "trialer park inbreds." They were fucking back woods, inbred, shack dwelling marginally retarded creatures. We got em here.
